The place where you sit down to work, pay bills, or just catch up with social media should be comfortable, and it doesn't hurt if it's beautiful, too. Mainly, your desk needs to be a place where you can focus on the task at hand, whatever that may be. Here's what to look for while you shop.
First, you'll need to ask yourself how large of a desk you need. If you just need a place to set your laptop while you write a few emails and check your bank balance, then a small writing desk or secretary will be enough. If you have a desktop computer with a printer, speakers, and other components, you'll need something larger. If you like to have your reference materials nearby, choose something with shelves, drawers, or a hutch.
Next, the room where you'll set up your home office will need to factor into your decision. Large workstations are great for dividing up larger rooms while corner desks are ideal for focusing your thoughts in a cozy room. If the room will be your dedicated home office, then choose something with a bold style and decorate around it. If you're adding a home office area to another room, coordinate the finish and the details with the existing furniture there. A desk with doors may be helpful in a room like this, too, so you can close everything up when you're not working.
Finally, you'll need to think about who will use the desk most. If your inner entrepreneur is telling you to be your own boss, then it could be time to start shopping for home office furniture. Choose a desk that inspires you, whether it's the style that gets your creativity going or just the space to spread out your things. If you're setting up a study space for your child, look for a student desk that has room for a computer as well as an open textbook. If you do a lot of typing, you may want to look for something that comes with a keyboard tray.

A darling little set for a excellent price. if you need a little space for yourself this one person set will do the job. The drawer is a bit difficult to open but for the price I can deal with it. takes up very little room for a corner desk. was pleased.

I love this desk! It is very sturdy, was easy to assemble, and looks like it costs more money than you pay for it.

Although not as sturdy as I thought it would be, the desk proves to be very useful for me. It is extremely versatile and thus can be used for many different applications.

I'm sitting at this desk right now and have been enjoying it for a few months now. It's well made and sturdy, extremely attractive. The drawer is wide and deep. I slid a 2-drawer file cabinet under it and it's a perfect fit. Would recommend.

This was even better than I had hoped. I am left-handed so sometimes these designs aren't user friendly for me. This one can tilt front or backward to an almost 130 degree angle making it easy to work no matter what angle or side you want the computer to be on. It can also raise or lower (however, that's not as quick and convenient to adjust on the fly.) depending on height of bed /couch /desk level. The wheels are a bit tall and may not fit under some furniture. For example, my couch has kick-out foot rests and it doesn't slide under the couch unless those are up. For a mobile desk it is amazing. The computer side has stoppers on each side so the computer doesn't slide off.
