Bought 3 sets and am extremely happy with them. There are some variations in the color stain from dish to dish and some of the white edge is to unevenly applied, but I think overall they look wonderful. The large size of the bowls and salad plates make them as useful as the dinner plates.Read More
I needed the dinnerware at a second home where everyone is always rushing in and out anxious to swim, golf, ski etc. I have found that mu other dinnerware chipped very easily. The Denby sets are nicely weighted appear to take a fair amount of abuse still look good. The dinnerware was packed very securely, had a pile of recycling by the time I got the sets out. I am just sorry that I did not purchase a couple of extra sets to have on handRead More
Service and delivery time was excellent - the plates were generally the colour and quality that we had expected - just a shame that the side plates are distincetly different to the rest of the set - apart from that we're very happy thanks!Read More
We were looking for some simple, basic-styled dishes without mugs. This is one of the few sets we found. I am glad we got them. The design is not ornate, but offers a refined, somewhat modern feel with a very nice form and finish. The top glossy glaze is a clear light periwinkle blue color. It looks slightly different under different color light. It is natural to find some color variation among different pieces and even within a single piece because it is a clear glaze. The underside of the dishes actually feature a matt, darker greyish blue solid finish (The color is very similar to but slightly lighter than the very top banner of overstock.com that says "EVERYDAY FREE SHIPPING OVER $**"). It makes the surface less slippery when wet and is really handsome-looking. The edge has only a thin clear glaze to show the natural color of the clay inside. These stoneware dishes are hefty and thick, but not overly heavy. They heat food well in the microwave without getting overly hot. The smaller plates are good enough for holding food for a small meal whereas the large ones are big enough to serve as buffet plates. Given the sizes and shape of the pieces, they double as serving dishes in our household. We have only had these dishes for a few weeks, so I cannot comment on durability. Holding them in your hands, however, you can feel the quality and they give you a feeling that they will not crack or break easily. I hope they will last for a long time because I really enjoy these dishes. The outermost Overtsock.com box that the dishes came in fell apart long before it got here, but the dishes were inside 3 boxes with bubbles, peanuts and carton sleeves in between. Nothing was broken. I found one slightly chipped bowl, but Overtsock.com promptly replaced it for me. No complaints at all about services I received. Very pleased overall.Read More
Very quick shipping and packed well despite some of the reviews I had read. The color is great and the quality excellent. No cups with the set which I like as I only needed plates and bowls.Read More
I was very excited to find this Dinnerware Set at this price on Overstock.comę ... My Sister has Denby Stoneware, but her color choices have always differed from mine. When I saw this in Blue, I knew it was mine. My Order arrived and almost fell out from the bottom of the box when UPS delivered it ... This was NOT the fault of UPS, but Overstock.comę ... One LARGE box, with only ONE large piece of tape, barely covering the TOP of the box! I was almost afraid to open it, fearing my Denby was damaged. Inside the large box, one MEDIUM box, completely engulfed and rolled in bubble wrap ... Inside the medium box, damaged Denby ... 3 bubble wrapped sets of bowls, dinner plates and salad plates, nakedly UNBOXED! From the West Coast to the East Coast, this Dinnerware never had a chance ... Overstock.comę offered to replace the shipment, but I declined and cancelled the re-shipment ... The following week, however, another shipment did arrive, identically, falling out of the bottom of the box as before, packed the same shameful way as the first shipment, and, to no surprise, Damaged Denby, Part II ... I'll leave the Denby to my Sister!Read More
