The damage suffered through shipping is partly excusable but the wood is so cheap that it scratches far too easily. The coating finish was put on AFTER the holes were drilled meaning I had to puncture a lot of the assembly points.This brings me to assembly itself. Very few of the parts actually fit properly (i even stripped some of the screws trying to get it right but to no avail), leaving a loose, rickety structure that RIPPED IN HALF when I tried to move it.I had to fight the urge to take a sledgehammer to it. Despite these problems it LOOKS good - sort of like the shell of a nice car but the engine of a clunker. I would not recommend this product.
Overall I am very pleased with this desk. It is perfect for what I needed it for. It took my boyfriend and I over 5 hours to assemble. The screws were hard to tighten and parts of my desk are not as stable as i would like them to be. But as long as I dont move it, it wont fall apart. Thats pretty much the only downfall. I am very pleased with how functional it is for all my needs.
I purchased this desk about a month ago and have been completely satisfied. I read the reviews before purchasing it and was prepared for the amount of time they said it would take to put together....and let me say....they were dead on. It took me about 4 1/2 hours to complete the desk. At times it can get confusing as there are very few words to describe what you should be doing but if you have a clear head and can check the frustration at the door.....the pictures are very helpful and the assembly should go as pictured. I did have once oops! when assembling the desk drawer. The pole that holds the files twisted right through the front of the desk as if there was nothing to stop it. I went to the website, told them what happened and they are in the process of sending me a new front panel for my desk.....free of charge. That was great to hear as I do not have the arm strength to do that kind of damage. Other than that little mishap, the desk has been a great addition to my 'office'. I am very pleased with the quality of the desk, the color and the layout.

Assemble this is the place that it is going to be used, because I found that it kind of starts to come apart in some places if you pick it up too much. I did everything right, but some of those cam bolts just would not hold the screws in place. The paint job is terrible (in some places there are small bubbles). It just looks cheap. However, if you can get it assembled, and don't need a fancy desk, than this one is okay. I agree with the one person...I would possibly recommend this to the right person. It is small enough for a small office space, and it does have a lot of features for what it is. So, it's okay, but not what I would call any great value.

The apperance of the desk fits into our furnishings and was easy enough to assemble. The only problem was some of the illustrations were to small or had no reference points to guide in the assembly process. The desk is solid and well made. Thank you for having the right item and the right price for us. My wife enjoys her new desk.
