Thick, sturdy, does not bow
I love this curtain rod so much, I bought two more in different sizes. I'm fairly picky, and this one is thick, sturdy, good quality. The finials are heavy and stunning. Made out of a heavy wood or metal I can't tell. The rod is also a durable metal. What I have liked is that the rod does not bow as much as some other thick metal rods I've gotten from department stores. There's not a huge difference in rod sizes when it telescopes, so it has a fairly even appearance. Oh, and the "Roma" color is BLACK, not oil rubbed bronze or brown. If it is brown, it's so dark brown it looks black.

Nice but careful with the finials
This is a nice, high-quality rod that does its job. However one end hit the ground moderately hard and the crystal finial snapped right off, so be careful! It looks like it can be easily glued back on though.

Decorative Curtain Rod
This curtain rod with pineapple finals is very decorative, and very thick - so thick that many curtains may not fit. The circumference is about 3 inches, so keep that in mind before purchasing.
