Great fixture. It should install easily directly to a junction box, but even without one I still direct mounted two of them beside our front door in under an hour, with minor modification. Cast aluminum is very sturdy and appears durable. Glass globe is thick and slightly frosted, so you don't stare directly at a bare 100 watt bulb. I'll buy another when we redo our back porch.

Purchased two of an garage I'm building and they are nicer fixtures then depicted. I'm very satisified with the purchase.
