Positives: I was looking for a simple modern wood dining chair for a round pedestal dining table. The Cherner chair's curves complement the round dining table; I was going for a seamless vibe. I ordered 2 sets or 4 chairs during a recent Overstock 10% off furniture promo + free shipping (I don't think I would have purchased these chairs at regular OS price) - I did save some cash, but the chairs were still a splurge for me. The overall construction quality of all 4 chairs is good as is the cool factor. As for comfort and body fit, the seat of the chair offers plenty of cheek room for average-sized behinds, but... Negatives: ... because of the leg design (curved out instead of perpendicular to the seat), there is a little bit of give when I sit in each chair. I'm not sure how the chair seat + legs will hold up over time for 2 average-weight adults. The chair's back / crest rail is uncomfortable (but it should help with my posture). The veneer is dull and the grain patterns vary from chair to chair, which is noticeable up close. I'm okay with this, but I don't recommend if you're looking for a uniform finish. The were no assembly instructions, so there was some guesswork involved in deciding the placement of the chair legs (all the assembly pieces were included). It took less than an hour to assemble all 4 chairs - I'm not the handiest person on the block. I've always been satisfied with Overstock's speedy delivery time which is one of the reasons I keep coming back.
- How did the color on site compare with the actual product? Though the veneer is more matte in person, it does complement the natural layered composite visible on all sides (e.g., legs and seat).
- Please tell us about the quality of the product. The aesthetic quality is good - these chairs don't look cheap from afar but there are minor inconsistencies (e.g., mismatching veneer grain patterns).
- How accurate was the on site description of the product? It was accurate for the most part. The chairs stack awkwardly, so if you're looking for a store-away chair, I wouldn't recommend this style.
