Now that we have our bed assembled, it looks good. But getting it together was a nightmare. First, UPS left the 3 boxes at our door when we were out. No one called us to schedule a delivery. Once we opened the boxes, we found that one of the side rails was defective. Overstock's response was absolutely wonderful and they shipped a side rail out (after a few days though...our bedroom was a mess during that time) and again UPS left it outside our house (when it was raining!). Putting the bed together took almost 6-7 hours and 2 people are also needed; definitely not a one-person job. Although we have made the bed, it does not feel sturdy because of the way the screws had to be driven in. The allen key key does not function that well because it needs to be driven in at an angle. So, some of the bolts could not be tightened completely. Also, the stopper (part 6) is asymmetric around the hole; the thinner side faces inward.

We are redecorating our bedroom and purchased this bed frame along with the matching 6-drawer dresser and two night stands. We were extremely pleased with the nightstands and the dresser, but are a bit frustrated with the bed. The bed frame is shipped in three large boxes. After unpacking and organizing all the parts for two of the boxes I unpacked the third and found a crack in the wood near a joint in the headboard. After a quick call of to Overstocks Customer Service another headboard was shipped. (Overstock Customer Service is always excellent!) When the new headboard arrived, I carefully unpacked it and was dismayed to see a smaller, but similar crack in the same spot. The headboard is curved and I'm guessing that when the piece is laid flat during shipping that the weight of the solid wood puts too much stress on the joint causing the crack.The materials and appearance of the bed frame is excellent along with most of workmanship. However, having two parts arrive with the same flaw is very frustrating. We love the look of the furniture in this line and are definitely pleased with all the other pieces. (We will most likely be purchasing the 5-drawer dresser in the near future.) And while we will continue to work the problem so that we can fix / replace / repair the damaged headboard, it is certainly frustrating.

I have been searching for a bed that resembles a sleigh bed but without the high footboard. This one is perfect. It has both the sleighbed and more modern low profile look. We prefer a higher bed so we kept a thicker mattress and spring set on the bed. It is beautiful dark wood between a walnut and cherry. The grain is gorgeous. Very sturdy and heavy. Purchased the chest and two night stands as well. Gave us a more up to date and glamorous look to our bedroom without breaking the bank I have priced these beds at a much higher price. The bed arrived quickly except for our local UPS mix up and it was easy to assemble. Two screws were missing but we were able to easily replace. The support system under the bed is very good with added vertical support. Exceptional value in my opinion. Glad I got it before it sold out!!!!
