My fiancée's favorite color is red, and we've needed to replace some broken steak knives for some time now. When I saw this set I had to get it. She loves it, and since she's happy everybody's happy. They're good quality, and a great value for the price.

As someone that cooks for a living I give this set high marks. Is it comparable to far more expensive professional grade knives? Absolutely not! But the quality is far better than the 90%+ knives that the average consumer owns. I actually bought this set to carry with me when I travel. I frequently stay places that have kitchens. Almost always the cutlery at these places are a joke. Understandably if these places provided high quality cutlery, it would "disappear" or be destroyed. At the price of this set the only embarrassing part is the tattoo graphics on the blade covers. The quality of the knives and covers as well as the weight are an extreme bargain for the price charged. Excellent value for the price.

I really like my new knives. The utility knife is especially helpful. My old one, I discovered, is very dull. I haven't had a chance to use all of them. I used the small santoku(?) and loved it. I can't wait to try the knife for peeling round fruit. I don't really like the fact that the knives go in sideways and the scissors are not as nice as my older pairs--which I kept.
