This is a beautiful wooden bench with carving that is rich without having a slavishly period look. It arrived in unimpaired condition, required no assembly, and is fairly easy for a woman to move from place to place. I like that it doubles as a storage unit; Overstock has many such items. My only reservation is the cushioning, which has a small cross-hatch pattern that is neither apparent in the picture nor mentioned, so far as I know, in any of the reviews. I would have preferred an unpatterned fabric. This is a matter of taste, of course, and would not disturb many, but I think it should be made clear. I nonetheless love the piece and never considered returning it.

This is a gorgeous trunk. The only thing I wish were better, is the bottom of the inside. It is a thin board that. I hope it can support some weight. I would buy it again though.

I was impressed with the looks of the trunk but was less than impressed when I opened the lid and found that it would not stay open - there is something wrong with the hinges that they will not lock open - this will have to be attended to. So if you order this trunk you will need to be a little handy unless the hinges on the one I bought are just lemons.

This is a great addition to my bedroom. I have a traditional art deco type dresser and sideboard. The color of the bench matches and blends in with those items beautifully. It's nice to have somewhere to sit to put on shoes, socks, etc. It is a gorgeous piece and comfortable to sit on. Storage is enough for extra blankets and decorative pillows. Highly recommend this one!

I bought this for a wedding present and it was well received by the bride and groom as well as their parents so it appealed to multiple age groups with a lot of different styles. The bride was ultra modern in her home and she thought it fit perfect.

I am remodeling our master bath and hope to use this chest for storing towels near the shower. It is just big enough to sit down without taking up a lot of space. It seems to be well made although I have not had it long enough to see if it stands up to a moist environment.

The item arrived MUCH faster than expected. Just as all other reviews stated it was well packaged inside of 2 boxes for added protection. I didn't think it was going to be as big as it is according to the measurements so I was well pleased with its size, quality and price. I found this same item on other sites for $50 more and up. I am very satisfied with this product in all areas. I would definitely recommend to anyone that is considering purchasing it to go for it!!!

This product arrived within days of placing the order. It was packaged well so there were no blemishes. The quality is very good. I like that the lid stays up on its own. This bench is small though. It is lower than our bed. Be sure to take note of the dimensions. All together, a good buy.

Having read many positive reviews for this item, I decided to give it a shot. One thing about ordering from Overstock.com is they don't exclude negative reviews, so I felt confident I would be satisfied with this trunk. And I was rather amazed at just how much this trunk did indeed match the photo and description on the website. It's a bargain for what you get -- very well constructed and carved handsomely. The cushion top is beautifully covered and nicely firm. I couldn't be more pleased!

We purchased this trunk as a wedding present for our son and new daughter-in-law, and put a couple fluffy blankets in it. They were thrilled with it, and it could easily become an heirloom. The gorgeous carvings are very rich looking and the warm finish is high quality. The style is versatile enough to use in any room for added seating and storage. As other reviewers have stated, it came doubleboxed with extra padding and arrived in excellent condition, just five days after ordering. After looking at several other trunks, this was by far the best value and looks like we spent many times our money. Thank you again Overstock!

Chest is very pretty. Heavily padded seat with great hinges that hold it up. Very much worth the money.

I purchased the bench to hold pillows and shams from the bed. The cushion top trunk was a little smaller than I invisioned but I am most pleased with it. The detailing on the woodwork is very nice.

This bench is beautiful! It came extremely well packaged, triple boxed to keep it safe, and was not too heavy. We have it at the end of our bed and it matches surprisingly well. The bench to match our bedroom set was over $1000 so this was a much better value. It looks a bit small against a king size but it's perfect for our use. Our bed is very high and our little dogs use it as a step up to the bed! We store sheets inside and it's a good place to sit down to put on shoes and socks. I would DEFINITELY recommend this to friends! Really great value!

This is a beautiful piece of furniture, hovewer, I am in the process of returning it. We also received the bench with the back hinge stripped away from the screws and wood, as privious reviewer mentioned, but the wood around the hinge was cracked, and since this is functional problem (you need to open/close the top), I'm afraid the glue will not be able to hold it all together. Very disapointed, as I was looking forward to buy it for a long time.

We received the trunk/bench with the right back hinge stripped away from the screws and wood. It will require minor repairs which can be taken care by ourselves. A lovely piece of furniture but very light. If you are looking for a bench with this item - be warned. It is a handsome piece of furniture and we will store our son's infant goods in it. We had been looking for something like this for a while now.

This trunk was the perfect fit under a window in my mother's room. She stores sweaters and blankets in it. We love the cushioned top since it gives her a place to sit when she's pulling on her shoes. It came in much earlier than promised. The trunk came boxed in tons of foam and padding so that it was virtually impossible to damage. It is lightweight so I had no trouble carrying and moving it. The only bad thing is the lid doesn't really lock into position and doesn't open to a full 90 degree angle. It's more like an 85 degree angle. I'm glad I bought it and wouldn't hesitate recommending it to a friend.
