Just rec'd this chair. Follow my & other's advice--put the chair cushion on "last" and it assembles like a charm. I did it myself, and all tools,etc were supplied. The only reason for a 4 instead of 5 star rating, is that the seat is board hard! which is okay with me. It is a stately piece of furniture, holds it's own with other pieces quite well, for the money, I would be doubtful one could come close to the value & beauty. I am 5 star impressed and would recommend it to anyone. It is sturdy ( not at all wobbly), and has subdued, tho blendable colors, the material is lovely. If you buy, hope you enjoy.

The chair looks as pictured and was easy to setup (by following others' advice and doing the cushion last). The seat is firmer than I expected - not really comfy, but it is attractive.

This is a very nice chair, but I was sent defective merchandise that had to be replaced (the seat frame's drill holes were upside-down. To Overstock's credit, they promptly sent a replacement item that was in proper condition, but this delayed significantly my ability to put the chair together.Otherwise, a very nice item, although I agree with another reviewer that the wood has a very strong "VOC" type smell upon opening the box, but it fades quickly.

When I received the chairs my wife and I began assembly immediately. After 2 hours and some discussion of who in get the chair pieces in our divorce settlement, we decided to just go to bed and hope tomorrow would be a better day. It was, we decided to ignore the manufacturers assembly instructions and use common sense. DO NOT attach the cushion to the seat frame as instructed in Step 1. Loosely assemble all wooden pieces of the chair frame, then securely tighten all bolts. Place the cushion on the seat frame and attach to the assembled chair. It only took about 20 minutes to finish the second chair. So do yourself a favor and purchase the chairs, they're beautiful, sturdy, and have the appearance of really fine furniture. More importantly, ignore Step 1 of the manufacturers instructions.

I purchased a chair just like this one about seven months ago. I got the second one to fill in the room with a matching char. The fabric on the newest one was faded in comparison to the other chair and the woodwork was lighter. The difference in appearence isn't that great.The matterial in the padding is stiff and hard so the chair is not really comfortable to sit in although for me that is OK since it wont really get use a lot.The worse thing was the smell. It smelled toxic out of the packaging. After a few days the toxic smell has gone away but Im sure it was what ever them used to finish the wood.
