Received my curtains today. Was a little concerned about color after reading reviews, but received the orange curtains and couldn't be happier. The orange is plenty bright, (looks slightly more on the burnt orange side) and really completes my nursery! Some people mentioned that the white looks somewhat grey due to the blackout component, but I didn't notice that either. They definitely block out light and ensured that my baby was able to take good naps during the day! The curtains are made of a great material and look very nice! I purchased the orange curtains. These curtains are a very nice quality, well made, but several things surprised me. The print is definitely a strong orange and the print is big and bold. But, the background isn't white or cream it is grayish. It fits in with my room so I'm OK with it. The other surprise is that the fabric is a silky polyester and it is very heavy. I was surprised since this print looks more informal or homespun and I expected that the fabric would have more texture or seem more like cotton, but I was fine with it too.

Excellent quality curtains. Truly blackout blocks 99% of light so perfect for shift workers that have to day sleep. The color is perfect Ivory/off white with a silk sheen. I highly recommend these curtains if you're looking for true blackout curtains. The grommets are oil rubbed bronze colored.

I bought these drapes for my dining room, and I was pleasantly surprised. They did a great job of blocking out sunlight and were made of a good quality fabric. The color is not a stark white but rather more of an off white color. The ivory color was just what our navy dining room needed.

I ordered seven 84-inch panels in the gray. I don't think the pictures show it very well, but the gray is closer to a taupe and the white is actually off-white, which isn't what I was expecting. However, my shades and window trim are cream, so they matched probably better than true gray/white would have. The pattern of the curtain is textured, as you can see in the close-up photo, but the curtains don't look bulky when hung. The backing is a lightweight cottony material, and it is not light blocking (these are not blackout curtains). They do dim daylight, but they will let in light in full sunlight. I have not had a chance to fully test the energy-saving features (which is why I bought the curtains) because we're experiencing a really mild fall so far. I hung one panel and that side of the window was warmer than the side with just the shades, so that seems promising. Overall, I'm pleased with the quality and color, and especially the price.

Got three sets for my dining room and living room. Perfect color and it definitely keeps the cold out better than what I had. Soft and just throw in dryer to dewrinkle, no ironing, great buy! Totally recommend.

These curtains are okay. They look decent from a distance, but up close are a little rough. There are a lot of strings and loose threads along the hem and seams, and they don't hang that well—most likely due to the wavy, uneven hems (I know it's hard to get a great seam with silky material). They also come very wrinkled and creased, which I have not had much success minimizing. The material is quite thin, but they have a very thin liner, which helps tremendously. For the price, they're okay.

I purchased the tab top in the spring of 2010 for my dining room. Purchased the beige to go under a valance. The fabric is elegant and the shade was more of a cream as in the picture. It keeps out the cold which was my primary reason for purchasing It also a wonderful room darkener.. A blanket over the window in the winter does not give a good impression. Worth every penny.

I'd been in the market for curtains for my master bedroom for a while, and had been eyeing these for a bit. I finally bit the bullet and ordered them and I'm very satisfied. I ordered the silver and they definitely block out light well. The part pictured that looks like it is bright white, is more of an oatmeal color on the curtains. These look very high end, as long as you are able to get the creased and wrinkles out of them from packaging (I followed the directions in the package to dry them with a damp washcloth and that did not work--will try my steamer next). I'm also pleased that these came in a set of panels, since most places you have to buy each panel separately. I got 4 panels for the price of what 2-3 other curtain panels would have cost me. Very happy with this product.

I bought these in the Mediterranean blue and they are of very substantial weight and the color is deep and beautiful. It reminds me of somewhere between dark teal and peacock. But there is not too much green in them in my opinion. Just enough to be TEAL. There is a line, actually two lines of heavier "thread"? on the back of each curtain at the top and not sure what it is for. I was told there were back tabs, but there are none on mine. But still very very pleased. There are beautiful and I am using them in a room that is painted almost a terracotta color. Couldn't find anything else to go, but these are perfect!

these drapes were a good quality, however did not darken the room at all even with thermal backing...perhaps it was that I ordered a light color - but with the backing, they should have served as room darkening...I even have pleated shades on the window - I would suggest these for looks and perhaps for insulation purpose - but if you need to darken the room, these are not the drapes you want.

I decided to change out my old velour panels, so I started researching which ones to buy from Overstock. I have had good luck with previous purchases, and read all the reviews of this particular set of panel curtains. I had a pretty good idea of what to expect, but I was disappointed with the weight of the panels. They are very light, and so they don't hang as nicely as my old, heavy panels. The color was spot on and matched my lampshades to a tee; I believe they're even the same material. But what one person described as "silky", is more "polyester-y". They do block out the light nicely and are a little wider than my previous panels. My curtain rod is wood, and when I open or close the panels, they tend to be grabbed by the wood, so I'm wondering whether they might fray. Whereas I usually feel like I bought a bargain when I shop from Overstock, I feel that I paid too much for these. I guess I like them more than I dislike them, but if I had seen them at a store, I would not have bought them, but would have looked for a heavier material. For someone who is not concerned with the weight of the material, I would say that you will like them.

Hanging a valance and curtains over your window will add dimension, texture and style to any room. Window curtains with a valance give your window treatments a finished, designer look. If you want to block out light, a valance and full-length blackout panel curtain is your best choice. If you are more interested in decoration and only need to block minimal light, then a valance over sheer curtains is a good choice. It's important to measure the window and decide what type of curtains you want before you buy the curtain hardware. A cafe rod will be sufficient to support a sheer curtain, but you will need a stronger curtain rod to support heavier fabrics such as blackout panels. Also, the larger the window, the sturdier the curtain rod will need to be.
Create privacy and save energy when you buy thermal curtains for your home. They're made of materials that provide a layer of insulation that prevents hot or cold air from entering or escaping a room through a drafty window. While thermal curtains are often made of heavy materials, like cotton or velvet, to regulate the amount of light that comes into the room, you can find curtains in a variety of fabrics that go with any room decor. Learn more about these curtains by reading the answers to frequently asked questions about thermal curtains.
Picking out the best window coverings for your home may not be rocket science, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't put some consideration into what you choose. Instead of buying curtains based strictly on looks, think about the way you want the curtains to hang and the amount of privacy you want them to provide. Keep these tips in mind as you shop for new curtains or drapes.

Blackout curtains can keep a room cool and dark even when it's bright and sunny outside. A completely dark room is a wonderful thing if you have a job that requires you to work all night or even if you just want a dark room for watching a movie when it's light outside. In addition, blackout window treatments help you conserve energy by keeping heat in and cold out or vice versa. You have two choices when it comes to installing blackout curtains: You can buy curtains that come with blackout liners already sewn in, or you can add panels of blackout fabric to the curtains you already own.
Use curtains to enhance and customize your bedroom. Use vintage-style curtains featuring embroidered details for a charming look or hang lace window treatments for a romantic room. Gauzy curtains will catch the breezes during warm summer months, while heavy cotton window treatments will block out excess light and heat.

The look of your bathroom isn't complete without the right shower curtain. Over time, this bathroom centerpiece can take a serious beating. When you need to quickly hang hemmed drapes or curtains, drapery hooks are an effective and easy-to-use option. The basic style of this curtain hardware staple is a single wire folded against itself; one end has a sharp prong and the other end is bent into a curved hook. In fact, these hooks, also known as drapery pins, almost look like large fishing hooks. Variations of this type of curtain hardware include additional prongs, angled hooks and blunt tips. All drapery pins and hooks work the same way, and the technique is fairly easy to master. If you're looking for a simple window treatment project, these hooks are the ideal drapery hardware because you can successfully hang drapes and curtains with them without a lot of time, hassle or tools. Read on for instructions on hanging drapery hooks in your windows.
