I had a Black and Decker toaster oven before and I bought this one because that one gave out on me. I really liked that one because of the size of the inside of the oven. This one seems to take up more counter space, however; the oven space is smaller. Also, I cannot understand why they would put the crumb tray in the back of the oven so that you have to turn the oven around in order to clean the tray. That is a very poor design feature, unless someone can tell me it makes sense and why. If it does, it has escaped me. It does toast well and the oven works fine so overall I am happy with it.
This is my second Cuisinart toaster-oven, and the fifth or sixth of this appliance I've had over the years. The previous one lasted five years of almost daily use until the toasting element died; the oven worked fine. I expect the same from this model, which is user-friendly and easy to clean.
After my old and very basic Black and Decker toaster oven died, I researched toaster ovens carefully and finally decided on the Cuisinart TOB-50W. This little gem makes perfect toast . I do find it to toast darker and quicker than I expected, but adjusting the toaster setting a bit lower than I normally would prevents burning. It also holds an 8x8 casserole dish, so I can make a small batch of brownies in it. Things cook a bit faster in it than in a regular oven, but that is to be expected since it is much smaller. Ovearall, I'd certainly buy the Cuisinart TOB-50W again and recommend it to anyone seeking a nice looking, durable, and non-digital toaster oven.
I've been using it for a few months and am very happy with it. The toaster works so well I use a setting in between light and medium. I've toasted, baked, and broiled, and all settings function properly. It's also great for heating up one or two items. Only downside is having to unplug and turn it around to remove the crumb tray for cleaning.
My husband & I love our Cuisinart Classic Broiler. This is such a handy item for toasting English muffins, toast, pizza, whatever. I even tried my homemade apple pie and it turned out fabulously! This is great addition in our kitchen. Thank you Overstock for making it affordable!
i bought this item as a birthday present & the person who received it says it's the best birthday present he's ever gotten ! visually , it's about as beautiful as a toaster oven can get . the white & stainless steal coloring would fit well in most kitchens . it functions perfectly , too . we've used it for toast , re-heating pizza , toasted cheese sandwiches -- always with great results . i would definitely recommend this item to anyone looking for a dependable addition to their kitchen .
Reasonable price, especially since I had a couple of reward coupons to redeem. Came the next day, only 30 hours after I ordered it. It arrived before the e-mail to tell me it had been shipped! Works very well for toast and for heating things up that I don't want to microwave. A bit small for baking brownies or muffins. Yes a small pan fits in, but there is not enough room for the heat to properly circulate evenly. But that's what full sized ovens are for. It is far superior in simplicity, features, workmanship and appearance to the Black and Decker unit it replaced. Have had unit about a month. So far, very satisfied.
I haven't baked in it yet, but it toasts and reheats crispy items well. I like reheating appetizers or pizza that I like crispy or browned on top. The oven feels sturdy, door closes nicely, etc.
All I can say is that his toaster oven is perfect for me and my family. It is easy to use, simple to understand and does the job it's supposed to do with no frills.
It's very fast for toast. You have to adjust the light/dark setting for toast.I've not used the other features as yet.Seems to be of good quality and workmanship.
I have ordered three of these, one for a gift and an extra one for a lake house. This Classic Toaster Oven is easy to use and is uncomplicated. I highly recommend it.
So far, this has been an excellent toaster oven, large enough to bake small dishes.
