This was one of 2 sites that had this coffeemaker and the other wanted twice as much! In black it was everywhere and cheaper to boot. It's supposed to be the best according to consumers magazine and if it's going to be around for a few years it better be exactly what I want.
I bought this coffeemaker to make coffee in full carafes--12 cups at a time--that's why I bought a 12 cup coffee maker. However, I didn't know until I read the manual that this manufacturer will not allow any more than one tablespoon of coffee per cup to be safely put into coffeemaker. And, this amount of coffee does not make a drinkable cup of coffee for us--I have to make two rounds of six cups (with two tablespoons (or a bit less) per cup) to make what we are used to.When I tried to use more coffee with larger amounts of water, the machine gummed up, and it took me forever to clean it. This machine was just not made for large groups! So, this 12-cup coffeemaker is grossly mis-labeled--it's a 12-cup coffeemaker if your tastebuds jive with the weak coffee that the manufacturer's recipe demands (one tablespoon per cup and nothing else)--otherwise--you have to make coffee in smaller batches. So I found this machine is fine for the consumer who may be using it on a daily basis for a few cups--but not for larger amounts.
This coffee maker has nice clean lines and looks good on the counter. It is easy to program to haveyour coffee ready for you when you get up in the morning. The coffee is always hot and has threeadjustments for the temperture.
PRO: This coffee brewer has lots of features that are useful. I use it to brew the fewer cup setting. It gets the coffee hot enough which is not the case with some coffee makers. The glass pot is easy to clean. The water does not spill when trying to fill the water reserve. All in all this is a good pot for the money. I would recommend it and purchase it again.CON: The coffee carafe lid is difficult for me to snap on and off.
