I love this thing!
from Rockport, TX,  Sep 25, 2008

I read pretty much all of the reviews for every rice cooker when determining to buy this one. There were a couple of people that had problems with the rice boiling over with a starchy goo. This does happen, however, if you wash and rinse your rice before you cook it, you never have that problem again. Mine accidentally didn't come with the rice paddle or measuring cup. This was no problem since all you need is a wooden spatula. I found out from many people that you don't need a measuring cup. Whatever the amount of rice, you fill it until the water reaches to your first knuckle crease above the rice, and it always comes out perfect. It really works! This is my first rice cooker and I love this thing. It's rediculously easy to clean. It has one "button" to push (once for cook, twice for warm). You wash your rice, fill the water up appropriately and plug it in, hit on, and you have rice in 20 minutes. If there were any qualms about this product, the only one I could think of was that the warm option does tend to burn the bottom of the rice pot if you don't unplug it right after when the rice is done. I have yet to use the cooker for any other application than rice, but maybe this winter I will. For my first rice cooker, this thing totally rocks!

Rice cooker
from Meadow Vista Ca,  Mar 10, 2010

I like this because the square shape fits great on my counter so I can keep it out all the time. It can be used as a steamer as well. We love steamed vegetables so we will use it every day. Thanks for helping us stay healthy.

I bought this cooker thinking it had a stainless steel bowl. Not. I KEPT IT ANY WAY AND A SHORT TIME AFTER THE WARRANTY EXPIRED the cancer causing non stick coating starting coming off. This cooker is a health hazard and should not be on the market. Get a stainles inner bowl unit Mircale Me 81

Cuisinart rice cooker
from Palm Harbor, Florida,  Jan 12, 2010

I have no idea how I have lived my life thus far without a rice cooker now that I have discovered this machine and the absolutely perfect results it gives with all rice types! The machine came in a cuisinart box and was labelled as refurbished but there was no mark or blemish and the cooker is a wonderful addition to any serious cook's kitchen! I would recommend buying refurbished from Overstock every time. I have had other kitchen appliances and a canon camera all at HUGE savings, all perfect on delivery, all working well! These are REAL bargains, shop with confidence!

versatile
from longmont, co,  Dec 9, 2009

I didn't realize how versatile this item has been. Besides rice I can cook polenta, store rice mixes and steam veggies. Great addition to my almost exclusive Cusinart kitchen.

great product
from Irvine, CA,  Nov 23, 2009

Contrary to my pre-purchase reprehension, this rice cooker works as good as any of the Asian brand I have had over the past 20 years. The bonus is that its appearance fits perfectly with the rest of my kitchen. Mine is a refurbished and the rice pot has some scratches. However, the staff at Overstock was more than helpful and sent me a replacement without hassle. I certainly will shop at Overstock more in the future.

Don't bother
from Pensacola, FL,  Sep 19, 2009

A nice looking machine that constantly boils over and scorches the rice when instructions are followed precisely. I had much better results with my little Black & Decker steamer which steamed more veggies than this much larger (but better looking) unit. All in all, not a very good experience. I'm disappointed in Cuisinart this time.

cuisinart rice cooker
from portsmouth virginia,  Sep 9, 2009

I bought this even though it was a refurbished product. So far it has performed flawlessly. I am not sorry I bought it and would do so again. The rice is cooked just right, but I haven't tried anything else yet as far as the steamer function goes.

cooker
 from MA,  Jul 12, 2009

We got this as a wedding present several years ago and have used it regularly to the point that the first one fell apart. We liked it so much I wanted to replace it with the exact same one. I couldn't find it cheaper anywhere else. The rice is cooked to perfection every time and we've used the steamer on the top to make veggies and hot dogs too. It is only the button that fell off that made us want a new one it was still cooking perfectly.

tired of stinky rice?
from farm hills of MI,  Jun 10, 2009

rice cooker that has a plastic lid may cause weird odor when rice is cooked. This cooker is both fancy looking and functional. No more funky smelling rice. It would be great if they have a cooker that cooks more cups of rice. Havent tried brown rice with it though. Enjoy your rice!

Cuisinart Rice Cooker/Steamer
from Watertown, NY,  Feb 25, 2009

This is a good product at a fair price. Works as advertised. I had no problem cooking the brown Thai rice l love so much and it steams veggies beautifully when I don't want to drag out my large 3 tier steamer.

It's Great and the Price was, too
from Tucson, AZ,  Sep 20, 2008

We had some doubts because it is refurbished...but when we received it - everything is just like brand new, I never would have known. It is a good looking appliance. We cooked a dish with rice (of course) using chicked broth - and lots of cut up vegetables and afterwards added some chopped up cooked sausage. It was delicious and was good for several meals. Highly recommend it.

One Fine Product
 from Arizona,  Jun 9, 2008

The usal fast 'O' delivery to my desk in the office. I purchased the rice cooker for my Sister and she loved the appearance. We immediately made a perfect batch of rice. There was much thought given to the design and ease of use . . . .now I have to buy one for myself.

Excellent
 from Austin,  May 10, 2008

I really like this rice cooker. I had many brands before, but nothing compared to this one. I eat rice at least 3 times a week. I read a lot of comments about the water came out from the lid. To cook rice you have to measure that it will getting 3 sizes more than what you put when the rice is raw. Two cups of raw rice enough to serve 4 person. The rice cook perfect all the time. I also love the rice spoon with it, the rice doesn't stick on it. I don't have the problem of water overflow. It is best for jasmine or basmati rice. It also very stylist on my counter top.

Cuisineart Rice cooker
 from Nolanville,TX,  Apr 24, 2008

Bought this to replace a very loved and overworked rice cooker. So far, I've no regrets. This one is not only a looker, but cooks rice to perfection and also does a comparable job of steaming veggies and small meals (i.e. chicken, sausage, beef, etc.) . It certainly gets my endorsement! Note: If you have a family larger than 4 spend the extra $10 and order the larger sz., either way, you won't be disappointed on value, craftsmanship or performance. Retail price is at least $20 more.
