very disappointed!
This coffee pot has never worked right. It doesn't grind the beans well at all. there will be whole beans left in the grinder when I clean it. I have tried doing various levels of beans too to see if that worked. It is now leaking water from somewhere. And the coffee tastes horrible, since it is not grinding it correctly. I am pretty disappointed. I was so excited to get a grind and brew. I am just wondering if maybe it is a warranty issue and they didn't really recondition it. Based on my experience I would not buy it again. But I have a friend who has one and loves it. So I think I just got a lemon! :)

Great Coffee
I love this coffee pot it is so user friendly and the coffee taste so fresh every time. The grind as you go feature was the selling point for us. No more stale coffee. Clean up is also a breeze.

Highly Recommended....
Great product! I gave it as a gift and he seemed really impressed with it. Makes a good cup of coffee. I retail shopped for it also and found a better deal on Overstock. If you don't mind it being refurbished this is the way to go. I was also impressed with the free shipping. I recieved it 2 days after purchase and it was Christmas time.

one little flaw
We purchased one of these units some time ago, and while it usually works well enough, the spring-loaded door that holds the coffee grounds has a nasty habit of occasionally popping open during the brewing cycle. When this happens, we wake up to freshly brewed coffee and grounds all over the kitchen counter and dripping onto the floor. Needless to say, when the coffee maker malfunctions in this manner, the work day is off to a really poor start.

Be Careful with refurbished items
The Cuisinart coffee maker that I ordered was clearly marked "Refurbished", but I know Cuisinart is a good brand with high quality appliances, so I thought I'd take my chances. I'm not a novice when it comes to the "grind and brew" coffee makers, as I have one. already. The coffee maker worked like a charm on previously ground coffee beans (meaning coffee that was purchased as grounds, not beans). However, when I went to use the grinding mechanism for the first time, it was taking longer than usual to brew when i noticed that the water was overflowing from the basket. I cleaned up the mess and started over again. Again, the coffee was brewing very slow and started to overflow at the basket. After I examined the basket to figure out why the water was overflowing, I realized the coffee maker did not come with the gold tone filter basket that holds up the grounds within the basket to allow the brewed coffee to pass down into the caraf. I had to go directly online to Cuisinart, spend $15 ($10 for the filter, $5 for shipping) to have that important part complete the coffee maker. It works great, just as a Cuisinart should. It was still a good value, just took a little bit longer to enjoy the entire coffee maker. Just be careful when ordering refurbished items...

We loved this coffee maker. I'd recommend it again to anyone. Note however, it is very tall in case you are planning on putting it under an upper cabinet. We have to pull it forward to fill it with water.

Makes Great Coffee
It makes really good coffee whether from the grinder, or using already ground coffee. I like the programming function too.

Good coffee
First time is a little tricky, you have to remember to put the filter in, for example, even though there is no coffee in it, but once that is done, then it seems to work quite well. The coffee is good and it's great to set and forget. I think a full pot might be too weak for us as it doesn't grind the beans very fine. I usually just about fill the grinder with beans for 6 cups of coffee. And as others have mentioned, if it's anywhere near where you sleep you're going to be awakened quite rudely by the grinding noise. But all in all, a good product at a good price.

Scratched surface
We purchased a refurbished coffee maker and were SURPRISED that the unit had numerous very visible scratches on the outer surface. We have purchased refurbished items before but they were never scratched or marred in any way. The coffee maker is great and we kept it but it would have been nicer if the physical appearance was better. We will carefully consider any future purchases if the product is refurbished. It would be nice if the description of the item indicated that the product was damaged in its appearance
