Good little rice cooker
This appears to be a sturdy little rice cooker....Emphasis on little, but perfect amount of rice for a family of four or less. It is a little too small if I were to use it as a steamer, I like lots of veggies. I was disappointed that the cord is NOT retractable, as stated in the description. It is not a deal breaker, but I thought that would be a nifty feature for storage. The last rice cooker I had was the cheapest one I could find and it lasted a couple of years. This one seems to be worth the extra money just for the nonstick surface. The other was a pain to clean, this one cleans in a jiffy. Overall, I am pleased with my purchase and I would not have been able to tell that it is a refurb. Hopefully the rice cooker will last as long as the other cuisinart appliances I own.

I like it more for steaming vegies than anything.
We like it more for steaming veggies than anything else. We bought it for cooking rice but are figuring out that we are just as happy with instant rice as any other rice so why bother cooking regular rice. Great product, frees up space on the stove when cooking other things.

Not what I was looking for
I was very disappointed in this product, and very unhappy when I was informed I could not return it. The steamer does not have an off and on switch, nor does it have a timer. It requires full attention.
