I got this set for my son's girlfriend for Christmas. Now, I don't know what she had before, she might have been cooking in tin cans, for all I know, but I can tell you that she is totally ecstatic about these. She absolutely goes on and on about how beautiful they are, how easy to clean, even heat distribution, no hot spots, etc. I have perfectly good (expensive) stainless cookware of my own, but because of her enthusiasm I'm considering adding these to my own collection.Read More
I had been shopping for pots for the past couple months as my 2 year old teflon pots were flaking away and I was learning all of the horrible environmental and adverse health effects they caused. Did you know if you cook with teflon (non stick black coating) their is a warning not to have pet birds nearby cause it will kill them! Now... I don't have pet birds, but I do have kids and a dog and if it's killing birds, what the H$LL is doing to us!??! I wanted stainless steel and was between this set and a kitchen aid set. This one was a little more reasonable and looked nice. I really like them! They are beautiful! They have a mirror finish and a unique curve that makes them look an art piece. In fact I have them displayed in the kitchen because they look so nice (i wish I had room for a hanging rack). They get REALLY HOT really quick so it took some getting used. The lits are glass and stainless steel and everything seems very heavy duty. The only reason I didn't give them the full five stars is because if you cook with the lids on, the handle gets very hot and I almost burned myself when i went to stir something. It's not a super big deal, as I just need to get used to using a hot pad to lift it off. The lid handle is stainless steel which in nice quality, I'm probably just used to cooking with pieces of crap. I'm very happy with my purchase and I have a feeling these pots/pans will last me many many years.Read More
So me being a foodie, but also new to the workforce, I needed great quality pots & pans for a reasonable price. I saw this ten piece set, but with metal lids on gilt.com and they were $400! I thought that was to much for me to spend, considering I then could not afford to buy food to cook in them, so I searched around on overstock.com and found an almost identical set! I personally like that it is stainless steel, and not non-stick throughout, because you can just deglaze the pan with butter or wine after you cook, and then you have an awesome sauce too! I was going to wait to get all of my fabulous kitchen stuff until I got married, because who can afford it without registering for these as gifts? BUT... with this price, I can buy a new set every few years and not even think twice about it! I am obviously very thrilled with these and recommend them to anyone & everyone!Read More

Tips on Buying Stainless Cookware Sets
Stainless steel is one of the most popular materials for cookware because it is durable, non-reactive, and relatively inexpensive. However, not all stainless steel is the same quality, so you'll want to keep these tips in mind as you shop. When you know what to look for, you'll be able to choose the best stainless cookware set for your kitchen.
Best Reasons to Buy Cookware Sets
If you're shopping for pots and pans, you'll need to decide if you want to buy a set or buy them individually. While many chefs prefer to shop for individual pieces, there are several reasons why you would choose to buy a cookware set for your kitchen. If any of these situations sound like yours, then buying a set is for you.
Stainless Steel Cookware Care
For chefs with strong opinions and a no-nonsense approach to cooking, stainless steel cookware is a popular choice. Prized for its resistance to staining, odors, and the transference of flavors, stainless steel cookware is a sound choice for any kitchen. It does require some special care, however, if you want to make the most of your pots and pans.
Best Pots and Pans
Choosing cookware for your kitchen comes down to what you like to eat. Think about the recipes that you and your family enjoy, and make sure you have the right pot or pan to prepare them. You can cover most needs with a cookware set, but if you won't use all the pieces in the set, that might not be the right choice for you. If you're buying each piece separately, then use this guide as your shopping list.
How to Buy Cookware
The key to buying the best cookware is first considering your needs. In order to get the most from your pots and pans, think about everything from your preferred methods of cooking to your desire to spend time keeping it clean. Keep these tips in mind as you shop for cookware.
How to Buy a Wok
Are you looking for a better way to make stir-fry dishes? Your cookware set probably didn't come with a wok, but if you want the pan that will make it simple to quickly cook vegetables and meats into delicious meals, then you'll need to add one to your kitchen. Here's what to look for when you're shopping to the best woks.
How to Care for Nonstick Cookware
If you're looking for a way to make your food healthier, then nonstick cookware might be for you. It has a special coating that can make your cooking healthier by reducing the amount of fat and oil you need to use in your cooking. A nonstick coating also makes it easier to clean your pots and pans, and it's the best way to cook delicate food, like eggs. However, improper care can ruin the nonstick coating, which causes foods to stick, makes cleaning more difficult, and reduces the life span of your cookware.
Cookware Buying Guide
When you're shopping for the right cookware it's all about the metal, because that is the vehicle that delivers heat to food. Before you shop for any pots and pans, consider the different types of metals and their benefits.
How to Season Cast-Iron Cookware

Best Cookware for Electric Stoves
To get the best results from your cookware, it's important to know which material will work best with your type of electric cooktop. How to Season Stainless Steel Pans
Seasoning is a process in which you prepare a pan or other cookware before you use it for the first time. When you season stainless steel pots and pans, you are filling the pores of the pan's surface with carbonized oil, which blocks the oxidation process and therefore keeps the cookware from rusting or pitting. In addition, seasoning helps to prevent food from sticking to the pan. The following steps will teach you how to season and protect your stainless steel pots and pans, so they will last longer and work better.
How to Break in a Stainless Steel Frying Pan
Unlike cast-iron fry pans, stainless steel fry pans do not need to be seasoned before use; and unlike nonstick fry pans, you will need to use oil to avoid food sticking to the surface of your stainless steel fry pan and even then, some food will still stick. While these facts might seem like disadvantages, they're actually the reasons why many cooks prefer to use stainless steel fry pans. High-quality stainless steel cookware may not be the best for cooking things like eggs, but for the most flavorful searing of fish, meat, and vegetables, stainless steel fry pans are unrivaled. The following steps will teach you how break in your stainless steel fry pan before each use.
How to Select Stainless Steel Flatware
Stainless steel is the most common material for flatware. High-quality spoons, knives and forks made of stainless steel will be able to withstand regular use without bending or breaking. Although there are many different stainless steel flatware sets to choose from, some are better than others. When you focus on quality and design, you will come away with a stainless steel flatware set that will look great and last for years to come.
