Crystal Footed Urn Lamp

The photo of this product is rather misleading. I had looked at quite a few crystal urn lamps on different sites, and chose this one because of the size, the detail of the stacking of the crystal, the lampshade and of course, the price. I asked a question about whether or not this lamp is clear crystal on the item page and was told that it had a brownish color. It does not, it's clear crystal. Another retailer answered the question correctly. I didn't even ask about how the lamp is wired here on Overstock, although I did on another retailer's site. (They didn't even bother to answer me.) The stock photo shows the urn as completely clear, as though it is french-wired. (That means the wiring is attached directly up where the switch is.) There is another, very expensive french-wired crystal urn lamp on another retailer's site and I thought it was like that one. It is not, the wiring runs down through the urn in a silver-colored rod like all the rest of the crystal lamps. The photo is misleading. Also, the shade is more cheaply made than I expected it to be for the price of these lamps. The shade is good, better than an ordinary one, but it's just not that well made. The stitching of the smocking is already coming loose in places and the trim isn't quite even all around the shade. I did loads of research and price comparisons before buying these here on Overstock, and I'm glad I didn't count on the Overstock customer service reps to know what they're talking about. Don't ever, ever, ever listen to them. Do your own research before buying here on Overstock. Fortunately both my husband and I liked these lamps enough to justify the price and decide to keep them. (We bought two of them.)

• How did the color on site compare with the actual product? Not only does it look different in the photo, I actually ASKED about the color and the Overstock rep that answered was WRONG!
• Please tell us about the quality of the product. The quality of this lamp is very good. It's better than good but not quite excellent.
• How accurate was the on site description of the product? There wasn't enough description to tell!
