There are few joys as exciting as picking out a brand-new crib for a baby on the way. There aren't many pieces of furniture that carry as precious cargo as kids' furniture, so you want to find a crib that is safe, sturdy, and dependable. And as the centerpiece of your nursery, you also want it to look elegant. With a traditional wood crib, it's easy to create the perfect nursery. Just add coordinated bedding, a changing table, a matching rocking chair, and maybe a shade canopy and you'll have the perfect room for baby.
A 3-in-1 crib, also called a convertible, is always a popular choice because it can change with your baby. If you want a single piece of furniture to fill the roles of an infant crib, a toddler bed, a child-size twin bed, and sometimes even a full-size kids' bed, then buying a convertible crib is your best choice.
For smaller spaces, consider a mini crib. They are more compact than traditional cribs, but boast all of the style. If you will also need a changer and a dresser, look for a crib with an attached changer. Drawers and a changing table are connected to one end of the crib, so you can keep everything you need to take care of your little one close at hand.
If you want to keep your sleeping newborn nearby, there's no better solution than a bassinet. A portable baby bassinet or easily carried Moses basket allows you to keep an eye on baby no matter where you are in the house. Most cradles come equipped with casters, so after you've rocked your little one to sleep, you can easily move about without waking your sleeping baby.

We purchased the Da Vinci Mini Crib for our little one since we were limited in terms of space for her baby items. It took me a while longer than expected to put it together because I was over 8 months pregnant at the time and I was trying to do it myself (luckily my niece helped me towards the middle of it) but all the sweat and labor were well worth it once the crib was done and put together. It looks really nice and so much more expensive than what I paid for it on OS. The mini size makes it look so much cuter and it fits her just fine. The finished product itself doesn't take up a lot of room which is nice if you're squeezed for space. The wood is durable and strong so I knew she'll be safe in it. Would definitely recommend this mini crib to other parents out there.

Searched everywhere for a black crib to match the black dresser we decided to use in the nursery. Decided to go with this one based on price and simple design. The crib was easy to put together - took me and my husband an hour to assemble. A few screws were missing but Overstock addressed that issue. There is just one scratch in the wood which can be touched up with a marker. I was pleasantly surprised it didn't have more scratches and issues based on how beat up the box arrived. Overall happy with this crib and it looks great in the room.

I purchased this crib for my new Great Grandson who is not yet born, but due in November 2014. I liked the idea that is it is raised on legs so that there is room underneath for storage, It's has an elegant look, without being too masculine. Many of the other cribs I liked, didn't have legs, and if they did they were very close to the floor. My grand daughter is kind of short on space, so the extra space will come in handy for sotring diaper boxes and wipes.
