Poor construction. Legs move even when tightened. Seat lacks interior support and will probably sag seriously witihin a short period of time. Would return but don't have time or want to go to expense.
THE LEGS ARE VERY UNSTABLE, CANNOT USE FUNTIONALLY AS AN ACTUAL BENCH TO SIT ON. WOULD HAVE TO BE REINFORCED TO BE ABLE TO USE AS SOMETHING IN AN ENTRANCE WAY TO SIT AND PUT SHOES ON.
- How did the color on site compare with the actual product? VERY ACURATE
- Please tell us about the quality of the product. NICE AS A DECORATIVE ITEM, NOT FUNCTIONAL
- How accurate was the on site description of the product? VERY
i bought this bench w/high expectations & product did not disappoint. the quality looked good & assembly wasnt super difficult, but the holes arent so easy to align w/screws and we had to sort of re-do it a couple of times to ensure the legs were secure and could withstand weight\. but so far so good and it looks great in my livingroom. Real leather for this price is unbeatable.
it's shiny and new--but not convincing. i'd like to see the Chinese cow that shed its skin for this. one sharp-edged aluminum leg went on very easily and the other got stuck on the overly done wrapped leatherette. a macho friend with hammer managed to smash it together. however, it never did secure tightly. it wobbles. i purchased as a bench to hold guests' suitcases--which presumably it will be able to do. but i hate that it didn't tighten properly. it looks sleek enough, but is cheaply made. one MUST NEVER ignore the adage: you get what you pay for in this world.
The thing wobbles BIG time even after relentlessly tightening the leg bolts. In addition, the one leg always looks crooked. I had even-exchanged it the first time I put it together, thinking these things were defects with the one I had initially received... but to my huge disappointment, the 2nd one did the same thing. If I could get my money back including shipping, I'd get rid of this major waste of money. STAY AWAY...!
I bought this bench for my grand-daughters to sit on at the dinner table. It was easy to put together and is very lightweight but sturdy. It only takes up a small space and is easily moved. I thought the color was VERY creamy, almost a yellowish where I had hoped for more white, but it looks okay.
I bought this in cream, which in reality is a bit of a strange hue. Regardless of the color, I would have kept this bench if it had been a better quality. I read some reviews before buying, and I wish I heeded their warning. This bench is a great price, and is ideal for decorative use. It isn't functional for actually sitting on, since it wobbles (I weigh 130 pounds, so heavier people will notice it even more). We also had a bit of an issue putting it together, since some of the holes in the top were not lined up to the metal leg holes. If we weren't creative, we wouldnt have ever gotten the bench assembled. Don't NOT buy it because of my review. If you are OK with a bench that wobbles and might have some assembly issues- for the price, by all means buy it! Visually it looks nice.
After reading the other reviews, I wasn't expecting perfection when I got this bench. I had some problems attaching the legs, because there were defective bolt holes in the bench(the hardware was installed too deeply). I solved it by not using the washers on two of the bolts, which I hated to do since it damaged the leather as I screwed them in. Not noticeably, though. My batch of leather appears a little "sickly" on the cream side - greenish really. I had to torque the hex wrench to its material limits to minimize the wobble of the bench. It'll do for me, but beware of this bench's limitations.
I was very excited to find this bench on Overstock. I had been looking at a similar piece for 4x the price. However, when I received it, the color was not really cream, but more of a pale yellow/French vanilla. Too bad. Also, the legs were painted, not brushed aluminum like I hoped. But it was a nice, clean shape. Might work for some, just didn't work for me.
This bench arrived within 4 days of ordering, and took all of 10 minutes to assemble. You simply slide in the end legs, and it's a total of 6 screws with an allen wrench. As noted in the first review, I did notice a slight inward tilt on the one leg...but with a little filler piece tucked under the screws it was fixed. It's a nice piece, and an ok value for the money....but it fit just the area I needed, so I'm happy with it.
I was very pleased with the look of the bench. It's sleek and sophisticated. It has a boutique hotel appearance at the end of the bed. Assembly was extremely easy. I was disappointed in just one thing. One or both of the legs (it's hard to tell) were uneven. I tried taking the legs off and turning them around to see if that would make a difference but it did not matter. No matter which way I turned them, it always ended up with a wobble on one side. So I put many pieces of moleskin cut to size and stuck them on the leg on one corner and it was perfectly fine after that. Other than than, I'm pleased with the bench.
