Bad quality
miacara82  from RI,  Nov 3, 2009
I've had this set for about a year. During assembly, the screws for the chair legs were too long and damaged some of the legs. The table is okay. The chairs became very loose and are on the verge of falling apart after minimal use. This set is a waste of money... invest in something that will last!

"Loose Leaf"
sdvelez  from Western New York,  Oct 6, 2009
Assembly was not difficult; however, the instructions for assembling the chairs were not at all clear. A major flaw with this table rests in the leaf design, hence the title of this review. The leaf holders are poorly designed, they are merely two blocks of wood that slide out to meet a cheep plastic bumper. The bumpers are inadequate to prevent the blocks from sliding completely out... so, you have a loose leaf when you tug the blocks out too far. Other than that, the table will make a fine addition to a small kitchen eating area, or similar setting. It can seat four - three comfortably.

Cute and functional!
mbenard224  from Baton Rouge, LA,  Sep 20, 2009
I bought this table for my tiny studio and it works perfectly as a desk when I'm alone and a small dining table when I have guests over. Table is an adequate size for two people to dine comfortably. Table and chairs were a little difficult to assemble but have proven to be quite sturdy after they were built. Perfect for small spaces! Great price.

Table
cats4  from Morganton NC,  Aug 8, 2009
I was disappointed in the table top. It is just made of thin pieces of pine strips glued together. I thought it was going to be more of a butcher block type top.

We were looking for a space-saving design for a table/chair set that didn't require us to always put back the chairs & close the table. This one fits our space perfectly & looks great too. Perfect for 2 people & 4 can fit with a bit of a squeeze but not bad. Assembly was relatively pain- & hassle-free. One thing we aren't too keen on is that the table surface appears to absorb things with color that are put on it...we already have 2 areas with "green" markings and we can't get rid of them, they seem to have absorbed into the finish of the table! So be sure to use coasters or trivets for items you set on there that are colored. Otherwise, good product overall!

Efficient
lbeew2  from Jersey,  Jul 24, 2009
Table is smaller than I thought but its measurements are accurate. I did not take long to put together as long as you have a drill and so far its very sturdy and so are the chairs that I ordered to go with it. I have a small kitchen which is why I wanted a smaller table. It just takes getting used to the smallerarea. I like it. would recommend.

Perfection!
iowaia  from Iowa,  Jul 11, 2009
I ordered this Thursday night and it arrived Saturday morning! Instructions to assemble are very clear. Make sure to have an electric screwdriver to assemble the apron of the table, it's a little difficult to do by hand. Excellent value, looks great in my little kitchen! :)

reviews helped assembly
garmmi  from Palm Desert,  Jun 4, 2009
Table arrived quickly. Because of the reviews I had read, asked my contractor, who wasworking at my house, to put it together. He had no trouble and I had printed all thereviews and pointed out some of the suggestions: i.e. glue joints, power screwdriver, being careful on chair rungs, etc. Alll screws did fit. He said he found it very earyto assemble.Absolutely love this table. Looks terrific, fits in the limited space available and thechairs are comfortable.

Perfect for apartment
newtocityliving  from Grand Forks, ND,  Apr 25, 2009
I needed a smaller dining set for my apartment; this set fits perfectly with the leaf up or down. There were no problems putting it together; I used some wood glue as a reinforcement and it has worked great.

Table for Two
dandymarie  from Homerville, GA,  Apr 17, 2009
Impressed with quality, looks, and good size. The seat is ample, the wood is sturdy and attractive. The chair assembly was a little confusing; and the assembly uses, in part, wooden pegs. Note: I would suggest getting a small bottle of wood/carpenter's glue to squirt into those peg holes in furthering the sturdiness of the chair. We did not have any aforementioned glue and I keep thinking I should get some, take apart the chairs, and glue the pegs. Not sure yet.

Good value
pam307  from Massachusetts,  Mar 28, 2009
I would recommend this set; I did not put on the leaf after reading the other reviews; I really like the table without it. Be careful when you screw the chairs together; one of the screws started to come through the leg. My only disappointment is that there is one board, about six inches long with a zigzag edge that is much darker than the rest of the tabletop. I cover that with a runner.

Good Product
brendabog  from Bluff City, TN,  Mar 1, 2009
I needed a small kitchen table and four chairs. I ordered the table that came with two chairs and ordered two more chairs. The table and chairs came in a timely manner and fit my small space just great. Nothing was too hard to assemble. The only trouble we had was making sure that we had the left and right brackets on the chairs in the correct place. I would and have recommended Overstocks .com to several of my firends. I will definitely shop here the next time I need anything for my home.

Awesome. . . .
wicket08  from Saugus, MA,  Feb 28, 2009
The value is right on the money, exactly worth the price. The appearance is so neat and perfect for a small dining area such as what I have in my little apartment. The workmanship is very good and the ease of assembly was not that difficult, but the directions for the table were not available and should be included with shipment. I would definately recommend this product, I personally found it awesome

Perfect table for small space
jmr4739  from New York, NY,  Jan 2, 2009
This table is better than I had anticipated! I needed something for a very small space in a NYC apartment, and I wanted something that was small but also looked nice. The hardest part of assembling the table was the hinges for the drop leaf. In the end, It may have been better to just leave the leaf off, because the supports for the leaf aren't terribly strong so you couldn't really use the extension for food or for a dinner plate, and with the leaf down you can't really seat a person on that side of the table. Nonetheless, it's a very nice and attractive table and just perfect for my small space.

It completely meets our need. Only trick was following the directions--it had a few mistakes, but my husband is fortunately very handy.

The table and chairs look great, and I am happy with how it works in a small space. My only complaint is that the directions were not as clear as they could have been, but I still put it all together in about three hours. All the screws were the correct size and worked just fine. All the parts were there.

Great Table
becca42  from Southside, AL,  Dec 11, 2008
Love the table and chairs. From other reviews was surprised that all screws were present--although directions could be better, especially for the chairs. Pretty easy to assemble although a little awkward when putting chairs together. All in all a very good buy!

Great Quality

This set fits perfect in my office kitchen. I put it together myself. It was easy. This is made of very sturdy wood not particle board. Highly recommend it for small spaces.

Excellent fit into the space I have. Seems quite sturdy. Had a little trouble putting it together but maybe that is because I'm 73, female and a widow with no help. If I can do it - anyone can! Even the drop leaf is "flush" when raised with no unevenness. A good buy.

table and chairs
makade  from Massachusetts,  Oct 3, 2008
The set was exactly what we needed for a small space on a sunporch. My husband assembled it with little effort, knowing ahead of time from other reviews that the directions might be sketchy and he might have to pop down to the local hardware for a screw or two. (actually only one, and he enjoys the hardware store at any excuse.) The chairs are comfortable and sturdy, the table is nice and solid, real wood, not plastic. We've never been disappointed with Overstock.com merchandise. The reviews have been vital for keeping us from making mistakes.
