Cosmopolitan Dark Brown Leather Arm Chair

I recently bought two of the chairs and I am pleased with both of them. The back side is very nicely finished which is important if you don't intend to sit it against a wall. There are no instructions for the leg assembly but the following is what worked for me. The narrower legs go on the back with the slightly flared side facing back. The thicker legs go on the front with the curved side facing inward.

Just received my chair, after ordering a few days ago... couldn't be more thrilled! No assembly required but for screwing the legs onto the bottom corners of the chair; large ones on the front, smaller ones on the back. (seems strange, but that's it!) Dimensions are a bit off from the website description, but not overly so: about 33.5" tall at the center back, 32" wide side to side across the front, about 31" deep. Seat appears firm and not squishy-cheap; leather is nicely finished and stiched all around, so the chair is attractive from all sides. I think it appears much better in person than depicted on the website. Nice compact size and transitional style, nicely accents a room or seating arrangement without overpowering the room. If I had the space, I'd make an arrangement with four of them, around a center ttable. As it is, I'm using this in an open living room, near the fireplace, as sort of a reading corner. Paired with a floor lamp with its shade suspended over the chair, this makes a cozy and convenient reading corner. The only thing I don't like is that it's made in China, but a lot of furniture sold on Overstock appears to be imported. (Have purchased numerous pieces over the years, and they've all been imported.) Overall, a great buy, and very similar in appearance to other upscale retailers' offerings, at a much more reasonable price and scale.

Love these chairs! I had ordered very similar chairs from a well known, pricey furniture store. They cost more than 2x the price of these. When they arrived they were horrible - scratched,the leather didn't match, etc. I sent them back. I was skeptical about these but ordered them anyway because I have heard such great things about overstocks quality and customer service from friends. Well my friends were right - these arrived in perfect condition. The quality was over and above the chairs I paid much more for. Plus these are gorgeous - I ordered the dark brown which is represented very well on line.I am so pleased that i wish I had more room in my house to order more. I didn't have any issues with the legs but I also was thankful to the reviewer that noted which legs go where - probably obvious to some but it would not have been to me. They are a little hard as someone else noted but fine for my purpose. The size is great - I have a small house and they are not bulky and don't take up a lot of space. All in all a terrific experience -

As other reviewers have noted there are no instructions for installing the legs. Not so hard to figure out, but it would be nice to have instructions. But once I figured out which legs went on which corners, I was dismayed to discover that both chairs would not level, not matter what I tried. So I just installed an extra felt pad on the short leg. I could also add some kind of spacer between the leg and the bottom of the chair, in case the extra felt doesn't stay on. One might assume that the problem was user error, but both chairs had the exact same tippiness, so I think it's a quality control issue. Either the legs are not consistent length or the frame is torqued. I suspect the former. Despite that problem, they're a great looking chair. And I actually like how firm they are.
