I gave it to a friend as a gift, and it broke after the first use. I told her that I could return or exchange it (because I've usually gotten good service from Overstock), but she said that it wasn't worth the effort.

This is a replacement for another missing corkscrew of the same style. I ordered this after having to open our Christmas wine with a woodscrew and a cordless screwdriver. This corkscrew is by far more elegant and and a very satisfactory purchase!

I purchased this corkscrew as a gift for a party. The host opened the package and tried opening a bottle of wine with it. She was not able to. I tried. I was not able to. Several other people tried and the product completely fails.

...but not so sure about the quality. Seems to be loose and not smooth when extracting cork. Suggest you try something else.

This wonderful little device worked just as advertised: opened my favorite bottle of Merlot with little or no effort! It screwed into the cork straight and true, the rotating easy grip handles folded down, a couple of turns, and my cork was out! I look forward to opening many more bottles with this convenient tool; plus it fits easily into any kitchen drawer or wine rack accessory board. Definitely a must have for any wine drinker or cork screw collector!

The corkscrew is well made. It has a good weight to it so you can tell it's made of quality metal. Have only used it once, but seemed very solid and easy to use. I had a cheap one before which broke because the metal was so lightweight. Comparing the two, this one is a serious kitchen/bar tool.
