    • So far So good!

My father and I put this bed together in less than a hour. It is helpful to have a drill because it makes things a lot easier to assemble. I like that it has a middle support and enough slats to provide enough support for my queen size pillow top mattress which is fourteen inches thick. I gave it only four stars because I have only slept on it once but it was great. There was no squeaky sound or anything; everything is solid and in tact. The wood is sturdy and has a very nice finish. Shipping was approximate within the estimated time and overall I am completely satisfied and would recommend to anyone else. Hope this helps!

    • Amazed!

We are so pleased with this platform bed. It took my husband and myself a little over an hour to put together only because we were being cautious and wanted it perfect.

    • Great bed for the Price

This bed was shipped all the way to Hawaii in just 5 days. It arrived as scheduled and with all of the pieces. It was pretty easy to assemble and it is sturdy yet contemporary. We really like it and would recommend it to others.

    • OK bed (when the parts arrive), awful experience

This was my first -- and I suspect last -- purchase on Overstock. The bed itself is OK; nothing special and certainly not worth the hassle. Let me explain. There are two cardinal sins of self-assembly furniture: ambiguous instructions and missing parts. This one did both. The instructions, bizarrely, begin with step 3. There is no step 1 and 2. Because the bed comes in 3 separate boxes, I had to dig through all 3 looking for what I thought was the missing front page. Nope. Apparently the manufacturer just can't count to 1. Sure, give them the benefit of the doubt; I have trouble counting past 0 sometimes also. But next was the bigger problem. Midway through the assembly, I discover there's a missing part. It's the center support beam. This is an important part. You literally cannot put the bed together without it (unless you want the slats to crack and drop your mattress to the ground, which I suppose is an option). This beam is nowhere to be found. So I call Overstock. They tell me they can look for the part and then send it to me... it will just take 1-2 business days to look for the part, and 5-7 business days for it to ship after they find it. Seriously? ****** can get an item from warehouse to my house in ONE business day if they need to. Overstock needs 6? The customer service rep I spoke with said she could put in a "request" to expedite the shipping. Apparently "requests" mean "won't happen" because it shipped at the normal, slow (and, of course, cheap) speed. Well, 6 business days later -- yes, that means sleeping on the floor for over a week -- the missing part arrives and I finish the bed. Result? Looks fine. Nothing super special. Is it very solid? Yes, in the sense that it doesn't risk collapsing under my weight; no, in the sense that it's pretty noisy when you're using it for purposes other than sleep. (I should note that when I see this complaint in other reviews, I always ask whether they assembled the bed correctly, so I'll mention that I actually used a square to get the corners as flush as the hardware would allow and measured out the spaces between slats; I'm not a pro engineer but I know my way around DIY furniture). Overall, I'd say it's not a bad bed, but it certainly wasn't worth sleeping on a floor for a week waiting for a part to arrive. I'll stick with ****** next time. Two stars for the bed and zero stars for Overstock averages out to one star overall. P.S. -- the Q&A section is wrong about the space between the slats. There are 12 slats, each 2.5" wide, covering a total area of 72" (including the end slats) if you follow the pilot holes. In other words, 30" of slats and 42" of open space, divided between 11 gaps between slats, for just shy of 4" between slats, not the 2.25" that the Overstock rep said. If you have a mattress that's sensitive to that sort of thing, this is not the bed for you.

    • Love it.

I just received this product and put it together this weekend. I love the look of it. The wood is much more sturdy than I expected. It has a solid feel to it. It doesnt look cheap nor does it feel cheap. I dont know how long it will hold up in the future but its in a guest bedroom so I think i'll be able to use it for a few years at least.

    • The Perfect Bed

The queen platform bed arrived in three different packages in approximately 5 days. I was able to carry each box from my apartment office to my front door, unassisted. All three packages arrived in perfect condition. I unpacked everything, cleaned up all the styrofoam and plastic from within the boxes, located the hardware/instructions, and began putting everything together. It only took me 10 minutes to put the entire bed together (minus the wooden slats.) I had to wait until later to borrow a friends power drill to screw down all of the slats. That only took 5 minutes. So, with cleanup and everything else it literally only took me about 20 minutes to finish it all. And trust me, I am not very handy when it comes to putting stuff together. This was just very simple. And it looks great!

    • Good product. Great customer service!

Good product and very easy to put together. Slats are a bit a pain to screw-in, but manageable. Unfortunately, the headboard was damaged to what appeared to be a forklift incident either at the manufacturer, overstock.com or the shipping company. Nevertheless, customer service immediately located another one and it shipped right away without hassle.

    • I'm planning on using this bed with a Queen (60" x 80") memory foam mattress sitting on top of a box spring. If the box spring has dimensions of exactly 60" x 80", will this be able to fit on the inside of the bed frame? I saw a comment about the legs at the foot of the bed having a 1.5" x 1.5" protrusion in the corners; please clarify on this.

      Guidelines
      • Hello jyncus, I hope your day is going well. The bed is designed for a queen mattress. The protrusion is at the corners and can be seen in the picture with the foot board. Thank you for shopping with us.

      • I didn't use my box spring as it made the bed heigh so high it almost covered the headboard. You don't need it. My pillowtop mattress fit fine. Plus a mattress will have more give than a boxspring.

    • I would like to now the approximate space between the slates that support the mattress? I know this is important for support. Thanks!

      Guidelines
      • We are still researching this and should have the answer shortly.

      • Hello carmenlyn, I hope you are having a great start to the week. The rail is 74.5 inches long that the slats are attached to. The twelve slats are 2 3/4 inches long. I calculated the space at 2.25 inches from one another. Thank you for shopping with us and have a great day.

      • There are approx. 12 horizontal slats, and 1 long vertical that runs underneath the twelve, and two legs underneath the vertical slat. Its very solid. The slats are screwed into the frame and vertical slat screwed into horizontal slats.

    • I have a tempurpedic memory foam mattress and I would need to put a 3/4 inch piece of plywood on top of the slats so I do not lose the warranty and the mattress would work properly. The dimensions of my mattress are L:60 x D:80 x H:12. What is the inside area of the bed that I should cut my plywood platform to?

      Guidelines
      • The exact measurements are 79 7/8" x 59 7/8". However, the feet protrude in at the corners, so you'd have to have a 1.5" x 1.5" cutout at each corner to allow for them.

      • Thank you for shopping with us rugger11. The width measured from the foot board where the sides rails attach are 59 1/2 inches wide. The side rails are 74 7/8 inches long, measured from the ledge where the slats are attached, and it is 79 1/4 inches long when measured from the metal pieces that attach to the headboard and footboard. I hope this helps.

    • How tall is the headboard?

      Guidelines
      • Thank you for shopping with us tb0y. The head board is 35 1/2 inches high x 61 1/2 inches W x 2 inches thick. Have a great day.

    • Is there any visible grain in the wood of either the headboard or the side rails? Hard to tell from the photos.

      Guidelines
      • Thank you for shopping with us fluteca2. The finish is really dark but close up you can see the grain. I looked at the headboard. Have a great day.

    • Can you use a box spring with his bed?

      Guidelines
      • Thank you for shopping with us glamrock88. I don't want to say no but your bed will come with 12 slats that will support your mattress and two adults. When you add a box spring the additional height will take away from the beauty of the head board. I hope this helps and have a great day.

    • I have a latex foam mattress and I would need to put a 3/4 inch piece of plywood on top of the slats so I do not lose the warranty on my mattress. The dimensions of my mattress are L:60 x D:80 x H:12 so two questions 1. Will my mattress fit in this bed? 2. Should the plywood piece match the Land W of the mattress or of the bed

      Guidelines
      • Hello tina9582, Yes your mattress will fit. You would need the plywood to be as big as big as the inside area of the bed. Have a great day!

      Guidelines
      • Thank you for shopping with us jodyfinne. The side rail will be approximately 6 1/2 inches off the floor. Have a great day.
