So far, we are happy with this bed. It is made out of real wood and good quality. It was pretty easy to put together for my husband. The trundle part of the bed does not attach to the frame, but we like that we don't have to worry about it staying on a track. It is easy to move the trundle in and out. We currently have it on a hardwood floor, not sure how the wheels would be on a rug. The draws a good sized.
I was looking for a trundle bed with storage for my 3 year old daughter to grow into. When I found this bed on Overstock, there were no reviews. I did ask Overstock a few questions and might have overlooked to ask a few others. I decided to risk a buy with this bed for the following reasons: 1. This is a trundle 'storage' bed, not many trundle beds have storage. 2. It has smaller footprint compared to another trundle storage bed I was considering (Trundle Storage White Finish Sleigh Captain's Bed). 3. Trundle bed can be completely moved from the under the main/taller bed and used separately as another bed..I was thinking of sleepovers :-) That said, I'm not completely satisfied with the product as it has the following issues: 1. Head board and foot board came damaged, had to contact Sonax (new name for Corliving). They shipped replacement parts promptly at no cost (I didn't have to ship them the old parts which I struggled to get rid of for a couple of months), but the new parts were not completely defect-free either. I guess you cannot expect perfection with all wood (I believe this is all pine) furniture..? I just used the items as is. Even the long piece that connects the two head/foot boards was slightly damaged which I did not care to ask replacement for. I did not return the unit as I did not want the hassle of packing everything back into the 3 boxes it came in. 2. My daughter sleeps on an 8 inch memory foam mattress (it is lined with 1/8th inch plywood on the bottom) and it still feels too high. Just in case anyone is interested, here is some info: from the floor till the top of the mattress (8 inch) it is about 31 inches. Had I known this before, I would not have bought this piece of furniture for my 3 year old. She still struggles to climb up although she is as tall as a 4 year old. It might be ok for bigger kids and/or if you have ceiling taller than 8 inches. 3. Storage drawers on the trundle (3 are real and 3 are fake) are rather small and have no ball bearing glides, it is just all wood. Don't expect great quality here. However, it is not very hard to open and close if you store light items in the drawers. Might become an issue if you store heavy items. 4. The rollers on the trundle are tiny and they scratch my hardwood floor easily. I wish they had used a good quality roller. The bed frame close to the legs gets damaged very easily if you do not carefully align the trundle before you push it in. You see, pine wood is a soft wood. 5. The bed creaks when my daughter climbs up, changes sides. I have been tightening all accessible nuts and bolts every month. Advice for those considering buying this product: try and find something similar at a local furniture store if you can. Younger and lighter kids might be ok with this. If you do decide to buy this product - it is not terrible but not great either - please do replace the roller. I will keep this for a few years and buy a different one when this breaks.
