I didn't want to pay much for a simple single bed for a guest room. So I didn't expect a great product, just an acceptable one, for the price. But....I got much less than I expected. One of the legs was deeply cracked when we opened the box, and the packaging was not damaged, suggesting it was sent this way right from the manufacturer's warehouse. I've contact Overstock to ask for a replacement. And oh, by the way, there was no hardware whatsoever to be found in any of the 2 boxes it arrived in - so haven't been able to put it together yet. How about some hardware too, Overstock? Sloppy work! I'm waiting to hear from Customer Service, having emailed them separately.
This item came with a large, hard to remove label clearly affixed to the frame stating "this bunk has a 125 pound weight limit". Be aware of this, as the product is designed for children, and will not work for teenagers or adults. I'm a little worried it will break if a child jumps into it. I'm not sure why the label called it a bunk, since it's a single bed with no way to make it into a bunk that I'm aware of. It is high, so it can accommodate a trundle bed stored underneath, perhaps that's why it's called a bunk on the label. The label was hard to remove, I scrubbed with all purpose cleaner and it still left adhesive residue. I gave up trying to remove it and left the gummy stuff. Probably some adhesive remover would work, but it might take off the finish too. As for quality, this is cheaply constructed and cheaply priced. No surprise there. However, I was very disappointed that one of the two beds I ordered came with a large chunk of wood broken off one of the end pieces, right at the top where it's most noticeable. Unfortunately I needed it right away so I glued it and will have to fill in the rest with dark wood putty. Add $10 and the hassle of a trip to the home store for these items. I would not purchase this again. I would have returned both if shipping wasn't a problem and I didn't need them right away. Also, be aware that the broken item did have intact packaging - I would recommend unpacking the bed frame on delivery BEFORE the delivery man leaves, even if the package looks normal, as this one was badly damaged despite an intact box. If he's still there, you can reject the shipment and it will be sent back to Overstock, otherwise you have to arrange a return pick up, and this may cost you $$. Overall, a disappointment and frustration. Don't recommend.
