I purchased this to replace a prior rain chain that fell apart when the ice hit it. I haven't gone through the winter yet with this one, so time will tell, but it looks fabulous now. Does a nice job of catching the rain with the larger cups on it, and looks lovely. Only had up for a couple months, so can't comment yet on the durability.

Gift for my parents last Christmas -- they both loved it! They ended up installing it under their covered deck among some trees, but still looks beautiful (in other words, doesn't have to hang from gutter to be a good garden or backyard addition).

Easy to install, fun to watch. I had our first hard rain since I installed, the rain chain did a good job with our Florida rains, was amazed at the amount of water it collected within 30 minutes. It got a little sloppy when the rain got hard, but did the job. I am using mine over a rain barrel, so i took half off and will use elsewhere. Fun design, good constuction. I can't say for durability, only had it for about a month, but I see no problems.

I am very please with the quality and design of this product. It is not only functional but also visually appealing, Since it is on the corner of the house by my garden it looks like a piece of garden art. It is heavy enough that even in a strong wind it does not bang around but just gently sways. I would definitely recommend this product.

The chain is excellent quality and better price than I could find anywhere else. It's also 10-feet, which isn't easy to find in stores. It looks great and is exactly what I wanted. Definitely recommend it.

The rain chain really works and is beautiful to look at. The rain chain may splash water on a windy & rainy day, but overall works great.

I was surprised about the length of the rainchain. It was longer than we realized! We decided to do what someone else had done, divide it into two parts and hang them from hooks in our flowerbed. Looks very pretty. The appearance of the "umbrellas" was not as shiny as the picture. Overall though, I would recommend this and would purchase the product again.

Bought this rainchain about 1 year ago. It really works well and I have it placed so that the water cascades into a drain which leads to my well. You do get some spatter but the ferns I planed around the drain love the moisture. It does collect leaves from time to time but I clear them by using the spray setting on my hose. Everyone comments on it and many have asked where I purchased the item. I am very pleased.

We bought our rain chains a year ago, we were quoted over $400 by a company for each side of our front door, saved a great deal by shopping O. It iced last night and they are just as beautiful with ice on them as they are when rain is falling. We have actually had people stop and ask us what they are and where we got them!!

I split the rain chain into two lengths of 8 and 9 umbrellas respectfully to acommodate the rain barrels below them. The first rain was significant, 2 plus inches in less than an hour. The second rain was lighter. During both rains the rain chains fed the rain barrels as desired, that is most of the water wound up in the barrels . Down spouts don't look right on portals in the desert southwest.

I highly recommend this rain chain and also rate "OverStock.Com'' 5 stars. The chain is exactly what my wife and I had been looking for. Others we had priced in Asian markets and Japan Town hardware stores in San Francisco just do not compare and cost 2 to 3 times more. We wanted a rain chain for our patio cover and this one from Overstock is perfect. It also looks great. It attached easily to the gutter and I have it draining down into a large Japanese vase which in turn drains out through a drainage line.

It looks great. It is longer than I thought it would be. It reaches the ground and we removed a couple of the 'umbrellas'.

I bought the rainchain for my husband for Christmas. He has a shop attached to our garage & he immediately took the downspout off & hung it. Favorably, the cups are larger then I expected. The quality is excellent. It comes with 17 cups & he had to remove 2 cups for it to hang properly off our garage. We enjoy watching it cascade down from our dining room window. It makes a light tinkle sound when it is raining. We did notice the siding seemed wetter. But, don't know if this was caused by the wind we had when it rained.

I purchased this product because of a recent trip to the islands and the resort used these exquisite copper drain spouts. They looked so pretty and unfortunately it rained quite a bit so I saw first hand how they worked. The water cascades down creating a waterfall. Very tranquil and pretty. Great quality. However, the only problem I should mention is when it is raining heavily the water flows quite quickly and will get your house wet. Also the water drains right under it so it really should be placed away from a foundation so the water doesn't create a "wet basement" problem. An overhang would be ideal. I still love it though and run onto the front porch so I can enjoy it when it rains. It's so good looking too even when the sun is shining and reminds me of my trip. Best "souvenier" I could have bought! Didn't know they existed until I saw them on Overstock! My sister, who was with me on the trip, bought one too!

This rainchain is beautiful. Appears very sturdy, but I admit I haven't put it up yet. The problem, which the website description doesn't mention, is that it is designed to replace a downspout on an existing gutter system. The mounting instructions are only to insert the top bracket into the hole where the downspout was attached. I don't have this system & so must now figure out a way to attach it under my roof eave & hope it works as intended. So, if you have a gutter & downspout, I think it's great, but if not, you take your chances.
