pic doesnt do it justice!
Looking for an inexpensive bed, I thought I'd try this one out. Assuming the frame would be constructed of cheap wood, i was prepared to reinforce it. The bed was delivered in two days and was pleasantly heavy to haul upstairs. Took 20 min to assemble the bed and I was thoroughly pleased with the quality. It is Awesome. I don't care for box springs, so i turned the bed into a platform bed by adding 10 1"x4"s and 3- two legged U shaped support bars, with a beams across bottom that rest on the floor for weight support. The Bed never makes a creek and it is almost impossible to remove myself from come the morning.

Good for guest room
Ordered this and it was on my doorstep 6 days later - excellent delivery as always. The boxes were well padded and the merchandise was unblemished. Color was true to description. It took me 45 minutes to set up by myself. Extremely easy directions. Only receives 4 stars because of quality. It's true, it is solid wood and appears sturdy ... after it's put together. But the person putting it together realizes that the side rails, head and footboards are all held together by 8 bolts (2 per corner). As a result, when fully put together, when picking up footboard and turning bed, the headboard doesn't follow. Instead, there is a significant amount of sway in the sideboards because of the design. This is after tightening all bolts. With that exception, the bed looks great. Ideal for a guest room. Probably won't survive people bouncing on it for extended periods of time.

Beautiful Bed but not very sturdy
The bed is beautiful, but not of very good quality. Even for the price I paid, I expected the bed to have more than 2 pieces of plywood to support the mattress. I had my husband add additional pieces of wood to the frame to support the mattress. Also, the picture seems to indicate that a box spring is not needed, however i am using my old box spring because the mattress did not feel sturdy without it. Overall, I kept the bed because I didn't want to deal with the hassle of returning, but I am definitely dissatisfied with the quality and will be buying a new bed very soon. (and probably not from Overstock)

Ordered this item and received it via UPS 4 days later. Super fast shipping. For what i paid and how long i plan to use it this is a great deal! Be on the lookout for this item when its on sale. First order via Overstock and the customer service people are amazing. Im starting to look here first for my furniture needs.

Very nice
This is pretty nice piece for the price. The three slats might not be quite enough to give adequate stability to a larger, luxury mattress so reinforcing it with either more slats or a solid base (I used bricks under the center of each slat) is probably a good idea. This is actually the same design as the Castillan Upholstered Queen bed for about $50 more - just has the tufting. My girlfriend and I got the Castillan two years ago and we liked it enough that I got this model for my own place. Wait until it goes on sale and use a coupon if you can find one (or receive one in the mail) to get about $80 off of the price (every little bit helps).

Great for the price
I have had this bed for a little over 1 year now and decided to write a review about it. it really looks good and the material is quite okay for the price. The only down side is that I had to put a wood support under the bed like extra vertical wood( legs) and also, some extras wood to support the matress and spring box otherwise the bed had fallen apart on the 2nd week of use. Overall a great piece.

Clearly everyone needs to learn to read
If you took the time to read over the product information it CLEARLY states that this bed REQUIRES a BOXSPRING. Thats why the slats break when you put a mattress on it and try to lay on it.

Looks Great and is very sturdy!
The bed frame was easy to assemble but definately requires a box frame unlike what the picture depicts. There is NO WAY you can use this as a platform bed because there is only 3 pieces of wood that would be supporting your mattress UNLESS you decide to purchase more wood and turn it into a slat bed. I am completely happy with this purchase as it looks extremely gorgeous and expensive!
