  • 2-burners on = problem

    Apr 6, 2011

6thave  from New York, NY, Rating:2.0

I just got this and I'm puzzled, may return it because both burners are turned on and even though they are turned to the lowest position, they are still warm. It's dangerous -- somebody could get burned, and it doesn't allow you to use one burner and not the other safely. I'm still experimenting and it seems that the heat is low enough, if you keep the dial fully counterclockwise/off position, but the power is still on. The product would be much improved if each burner could be completely off/on controlled separately.

I purchased this item for my cabin since I do not have a stove. I was a little nervous about buying something like this online having never seen it before but I took a shot. It's wonderful! It works so well! It boils water, heats up a sauce pan, and does everything a stove top could do. I love it and would suggest it to everyone!

i compared the product to my gas cooktop. filled 2 pots each with 4 qts water and boiled on high. the gas pot boiled in 16 mins, this induction unit took 22 mins. my whole reasoning for getting this was to have the opportunity to rapid boil water when i need last minute menu items - with 3 kids, someone is always hungry!- but it takes too long. will consider trying out a more robust unit say with 1800 watts, which will likely make a difference.if you just need an addl cooktop, this is certainly a great way to go, just not speedy.

    useful little stove

    flake7  from Atlanta, GA, Rating:5.0

This little burner comes very handy when you need to, say roast the vegies, but don't want to heat the oven. It's a little bit messy to clean afterwards, but no biggy. The plates get really hot. Also, before start cooking, do turn the plates on (separately) to burn out the additives they put in plastic cover of the metal plates. These additives are bad for health. Open the window when you do that.

Awesome product, I have been using it almost everyday without any issues.
