Compare these with the Cuisinart multiclad. This set of Cooks Standard is surgical stainless. They are heavy duty (multi-ply clad) . Cut your cooking temp. in half and you will be pleased with the outcome. You need to properly care for them, no cold water in a hot pan., they take 20-30 minutes to cool down.Your best friend is bar keeper's friend for any spot's. Very happy with this purchase. No problem lasting a lifetime, just care for them properly. The outside is a mirror finish and the inside is brushed satin (NICE). Lid's are solid stainless, and fit perfect. Shipped
fast and arrived in perfect condition.

Please tell us about the quality of the product. I was amazed at the quality.. You can pay much more for a different brand, but there is not a better set of pan's for the $$$.

I've owned these about 6 months now. Quality is phenominal. I've sauted in them, boiled them dry, ran them through the dishwasher, used metal utensils, you name it. No scratches, warping, discoloration, nada. I scrub them down every so often with Bar Keepers Friend to keep them spotless. Other than that, they just go through the dishwasher. These are heavy sturdy pans with quality equal to pans the times the price. The cook even and look great. I've had no problem with sticking as long as I preheat, which is the case with any nonstick pans. My only complaint is the company doesn't make a lid to fit the 10" skillet. What a disappointment! I survive though. I would still completely recommend them to anyone who cooks regularly and wants a quality product!

I'm buying my first house, and I wanted a real, adult set of cookware that will last more than few years. Obliviously, I donít have a lot of money left to spend on a $700 set. After researching hard anodized aluminum, non-stick and stainless steel, I settled on stainless because of high satisfaction with most SS sets (website reviews), they are dishwasher safe (a big thing for me) and can go from stovetop to oven with no ill effects.
The Cooks Standard is one of the few stainless steel sets where the alloy aluminum is encapsulated on the bottom and goes all the way up the sides. It is very rare to find a set that has that feature at this price. All websites that carry this set have very good reviews on it.
Everything fits correctly. The steel is polished and smooth on the outside and brushed on the inside. The pieces are nice and heavy, and the walls are thick. I had to do my own tests to ensure that it was a good deal. The first test I did was to boil water in the 1.5 quart pot. I was worried about how hot the handles would get Ė a common complaint of Stainless Steel cookware. Much to my surprise, the lid and pot handle were cool enough to hold bare-handed. It gets too hot just about a half inch from the bottom of the ĎVí in the handle. The bulk of the handle is cool and comfortable to hold. The pot retains heat very well too. On my other test, I cooked pancakes in the smaller pan. I read itís what Consumer Reports does to test cooking evenness. I greased the pan with butter and let it preheat for a minute. It gets hot really fast. Another common complain of SS, is that food tends to stick, and these pancakes didnít stick at all! The pancakes cooked quickly and evenly - no hot spots. Only time will tell how well this set will hold up to daily abuse, but it is off to a great start. If I can, Iíll try and give an update review in a year.

Please tell us about the quality of the product. The quality seems comparable to more expensive sets
How accurate was the on site description of the product? Very accurate
I bought this for my daughter & it's BEAUTIFUL. It's heavy & shiny, just appeared to be really nice. My daughter absolutely LOVES it. She said it heats evenly, washes up really nice, just a great set. I'm watching for the next few months & if it remains the same, I will be getting another set...for me! I was really impressed with it though so far.

I read many, many reviews before deciding to purchase this set. I really wanted to try a good quality (18/10) stainless steel set without spending hundreds of dollars. I expected this set to be mediocre, just suitable for my needs. I was pleasantly surprised as it seems others were as well. This set is nice. I have cooked my usual assortment of foods in these pans and have (hand) washed them several times. Eggs are tricky to clean off but I have decided to keep one high quality non-stick pan around for eggs. It just takes a little patience and elbow grease to keep these pans clean. (Eggs are just messier than I care to deal with all the time.) I love how shiny they are. I have not had hot handles yet. I finished a steak in the oven with a skillet and obviously the handle became too hot to touch for that purpose, but the pan did quite well in the oven and cleaned up well. This was a great purchase for me.
Cooks Standard multi-ply cookware is well made, well balanced, and gives great cooking results. Each piece is pretty hefty but the handles are easy to hold, feel good in the hand, and are very well balanced. (I personally love the weight of this cookware but it might be an issue if a person had wrist or arm problems.) Now that I have these, any other cookware seems so light and flimsy. I did a lot of research online and in local stores to determine what I wanted. The fit and finish are comparable to all-clad, if that tells you anything.
The entire pans are made of 3 layers of metal - aluminum sandwiched between 2 layers of stainless steel. This was important to me because I have seen other people have issues with the pans with the 3 layers only bonded on the bottom - issues that range from warping to having the bottom fall off of the pan. I did not want that to happen! Plus having 3 layers all the way up the sides lets heat transfer all the way up the sides to help with cooking. They hold heat for much longer. I can remove the pan from heat and still keep the food warm for much longer than my old non-stick pans.
The metal lids fit tight to the pans. The lid handles may become warm and so you should be prepared to use a hotpad if necessary. I have had no issues with the handles being hot on the pans themselves. As advertised, they are really stay-cool. The handles are riveted and the feel is solid, there is no wiggling or any looseness.
I bought these to replace traditional non-stick pots and pans. I knew I would have to change the way I cook a bit in order to start cooking successfully with stainless steel. A couple of the biggest changes were using much lower heat and preheating the pans.
The very first things I tried cooking were eggs and oatmeal. For the eggs, I preheated the pan, tossed in some butter, swirled it around until melted, and cracked in a couple eggs. I used a heat setting of 3-4 instead of 6-7 with non-stick. When time to flip for over easy eggs, I was sure there would be some sticking. Amazingly there was none! The eggs easily slid around in the pan and turning them was no problem! They also slid smoothly out of the pan and onto the plate. Clean up was incredibly easy as well. Just a swipe with a paper-towel, let it cool, then wash with hot soapy water. Almost easier than the non-stick! The oatmeal was also surprisingly easy to cook with no scorching, no sticking, no gummed up pan. Same easy cleanup - just let pan cool and wash in hot soapy water. (For any reviews that complain about food sticking/burning, I personally think that has more to do with the cooks than the cookware.)
The paperwork and description both say that these are dishwasher safe and I believe it but I choose to hand-wash to preserve the finish. Dishwasher detergent is rough on finishes and, personally, I want to keep these looking bright and shiny! Also, it is good to have a can of Barkeepers Friend on hand to clean up anything that might end up sticking. BF cleans well and doesn't scratch at all.
I am very happy with my purchase and highly recommend Cooks Standard to anyone. This cookware is nice and solid but doesn't take a huge bite out of your wallet. I have no doubt that this will last for many years and may be the last set of cookware I ever buy.
For home cooking, Cook's Standard is a wonderful value. I've been using this product line daily for over a year without issues. The handles fit my hand better than any other product line I have tried. The Steamer is the best ever fitting either small or large sauce pan. All handles including the lids have wishbone design dispursing heat away from the hand making pot holders unnecessary most of the time.
Should you use a wok, I urge you to purchase the Cook's Standard. There is no better made wok I know of.
I hand wash my pots and pans. Cook's standard cleans easily and a quick wipe with micofiber cloth leaves a spot free shine.
Also after much use on a gas range the bottom of the pots and pans show little wear.
If you want to impress your friends and neighbors buy Allclad. If you wish to save a lot of money and cook pretty much anything s well buy Cook's Standard.
