I was a little hesitant about buying cookware on line but I am not disappointed one bit. This set is awesome! I absolutely love cooking with them. They clean up easily. IF the food sticks to the pot/pan I just soak them and then use a scrubber sponge and they come clean! GO FOR IT....you won't be disappointed!Read More
Handles get too hot. Quite flimsy. Burn easily. I don't use them.Read More
First of all, I am not sure if these came directly from Overstock or the manufacturer but they arrived in ONE DAY! Even tho there was one very good review of them on Overstock already I figured ,for the money, I had to keep my expectations low. But, I have to say, this set is beautiful. Looks like a much higher priced set! They are made very well. I am really quite shocked. This is what prompted me to write a review, I had to pass on the good news. The lids are beautiful, the steel is thick and the handles feel good when gripped with the rubberized middle portion to protect from heat. The set is also guaranteed not to rust. It is also nice that you are getting 2 excellent size pots and a skillet with a lid. Not the usual combination. The lids, being glass, also fit snugly within each piece and also have venting. Can't say enough about this set. If I had to say one bad thing is it is made in china, and I try not to purchase much made in china. But that is the only drawback. Grab one while they are avail!Read More
I purchased this as a gift for my son for his first apartment. Since he will probably be only heating things up such as leftovers, I figured any negatives would have little impact on his use of these. First, the description on Overstock is not quite accurate, according to the instructions that came with the set. The Overstock description states the cookware is oven-safe to 275 degrees, and that the glass tops are not oven-safe. THIS IS NOT TRUE ACCORDING TO THE INSTRUCTIONS. The cookware is stated as being oven-safe to 350 degrees; the glass tops are safe to 270 degrees. Aside from that discrepancy, this is a nice set. There is some heft to each pan, with a nice balance. Glass tops are convenient since you can see into the pot or pan without taking the lid off. Design is nice; the finish is a high polish, which will probably scratch over time, but new they look stunning. Now, the instructions also state that they're not recommended for high heat cooking. Seriously? How do you boil a pot of pasta if not over high heat? Well, for what my son will use these for, I don't think its a problem, but I wouldn't go so far as to say these are "professional" grade tools, since a lot of chefs - whether amateur or professional - cook over very high heat. Also, while the handles are silicone covered to prevent heat transfer, it is still recommended that you use a pot-holder when handling hot cookware. That's just good sense, in my opinion. Overall, I think the value is good on these. I wouldn't recommend these to an enthusiastic cook, but as a set for a first-time-living-on-their-own-and-don't-cook-much young adult, I think they're great.Read More
The price was cheap, but don't let that fool you. This cookware set is sturdy, heavy and well designed. I was skeptical, but am happy I purchased it. The cookware cleans easy and maintains its sterling look. Very pleased with the price point and the product.Read More

How to Season Stainless Steel Pans
While most cooks know that you need to season your food before it will taste good, new cooks might not know that you can also season your pots and pans. Seasoning is a process in which you prepare a pan or other cookware before you use it for the first time. When you season stainless steel pots and pans, you are filling the pores of the pan's surface with carbonized oil, which blocks the oxidation process and therefore keeps the cookware from rusting or pitting. In addition, seasoning helps to prevent food from sticking to the pan. The following steps will teach you how to season and protect your stainless steel pots and pans so they will last longer and work better.
How to Break in a Stainless Steel Frying Pan
Stainless steel frying pans are frequently used by professional chefs and serious cooks at home. While these facts might seem like disadvantages, they're actually the reasons why many cooks prefer to use stainless steel fry pans. High-quality stainless steel cookware may not be the best for cooking things like eggs, but for the most flavorful searing of fish, meat and vegetables, stainless steel fry pans are unrivaled. The following steps will teach you how break in your stainless steel fry pan before each use.
