Eliminate the need to get up to adjust blade speed with this three-speed ceiling fan remote kit that includes one remote and one receiver. Easy to install and suitable to use with almost any fan, the remote is incapable of operating the fan in reverse....more
Hello samon7, This remote kit has received excellent reviews! Yes, the receiver, which goes in the fan, can be used outside. The remote must stay inside, as it is not wet location rated. I hope this helps. Thanks for shopping with us. overstockcustomercare1 on Sep 27, 2013
A question re: the remote operating as a light dimmer was asked and answered on Dec. 17, 2012. In that it was stated that the remote would not dim the lights. A Feb. 27, 2013 answer to a question asked on Feb. 20, 2013 re: the remote being able to act as a light dimmer seems to contradict this. Please clarify as to the remote's capability to dim the lights and how it is done. Does one merely hold down the light button until the proper light level is achieved. I assume that the "OFF" button only works the fan and the "LOW", "MED" and "HI" buttons only apply to the fan speed. Please advise.frank1000 on Mar 9, 2013Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
Thank you for your interest. This control has 3 speeds and a light control dimmer. (Dimming is done by holding down the light button.) However, if your light kit is fluorescent, it will not dim these bulbs because they are not dimmable. It will dim incandescent, halogen or LED light bulbs. Please feel free to contact us again with any further questions.

Thank you for your question. This is so handy! Yes, there are 3 fan speeds and a dimmer for the light. If the fan has fluorescent lamps the dimming function will not work.overstockcustomercare1 on Feb 27, 2013
Where does the receiver go? Above the ceiling and fan?
Also can this unit be connected to ANY ceiling fan?travel2all on Feb 20, 2013Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
Thank you for your question and I apologize for the delayed response. The receiver goes in the canopy of the fan. Yes, it can be connected to all fans. overstockcustomercare1 on Feb 27, 2013
