This is a very cool looking hood, everyone comments on it. For price and style, it's a good deal. But it is not for someone doing serious cooking (I'm safe!). The fan does not really do a lot of suction, just moves air around a little bit. The lights are LCD, which mean blue and useless. I'm going to try and change those out as that is what I really need. The picture doesn't show the name "flotera" imprinted across the middle of the chimney, wasn't too happy about that. The noise is relatively good, no rattling, not extra loud like some can be. Bottom line, if you're the kind, like me, that only uses it occassionally, I think this is fine. It definitely looks good and blends into the background nicely so the backsplash, which I did all the way up behind it, is the focal point. I had it installed, so can't help with that except to say assembly is just placing the two part chimney on the fully assembled fan/glass unit and adjusting to your ceiling height.
