I found a place to get parts!
This is such a beautiful, well crafted looking product. I get so many compliments on it. Its unbelievable that they could make such a durable looking product with such a huge flaw. The moving parts inside are plastic! I have tried to find replacement parts and have even contacted the 'manufacturer', the company name on the box it came in, and they said they don't have replacement parts. I finally found another company that sells similar products and I found a replacement guide slug that fits this wine opener. Its ***********. The item I had to replace, which I'm assuming most of you had to as well, is the guide slug. On their site its part# 225. Order several. The shipping cost is the same whether you order one or several. Phone in to order. I found that the website increases the shipping cost every time you add more guide slugs to your order. I just replaced this part in my wine opener and it fits just fine.

- Please tell us about the quality of the product. most of the product is well constructed of a heavy metal, seems very durable. The problem is, the moving parts inside are plastic and break easy!

Hearily constructed, But Breaks and no parts.
I own two, one broken. This appears heavily constructed, and works very well the first 20 times, then internal parts break, and you can't find replacement parts. If I ever find parts, I'll put it back into use, because it is a pretty piece that works well. A good wine screw, but when it breaks, Stop Wine-ing, and put a cork in it, cause you're screwed.

- How is the quality of the product? Look heavy, but weak interal parts that you can't find to replace
- Did the description onsite accurately describe the product? Yes, except for the breakage.

Vinter's Wine Opener
The product is GREAT. We use one and have given 5 others as housewarming gifts. This recent purchase was for another friend who has just moved into our community. We were happy to find just what we needed on Overstock.com. The product arrived quickly, in great condition, and was exactly as shown on the website.

Looks nice, but again the slide mechanisim is poorly consturcted and breaks after openining less than a dozen bottles. Does anyone know where to get replacement parts?

There is not elegant and attractive wooden base, the base is plastic.
