Can this cookware be used on an induction cooktop?
I love this set, however I found out, not to salt the water before it boils, it will pit the bottom of the pots and pans. Otherwise great with any stove, cleans up beautifully....

I love this set, It really is a great deal, I looked at the reviews and was specticle and went to my mall and saw what they were selling and at the prices of the sets they had I am VERY impressed. This set is bigger (more pots) and heavier than the ones in the stores I went to for the price. I wanted a heavy base so my food wouldnt burn and these have that and I love. The fry pan is BIG and pne like that alone was $50-$70 at the store for like quality. Again I really like this set.Read More

This is not a set. The outsides match but the bottoms indicate a mixed set. They are cheap quality for the money and have flaws on the outer surface. As others have mentioned, the bottom of each piece is covered by a big, round and very sticky label. It took 3 hours to soak, pick, peel and scrub it off. I have never been disappointed with any product from Overstock but this set is just bad, and a waste of money. Spend a little more and get a quality and known brand of cookware. I only kept this set because I can not find the receipt and do not want to waste more money shipping it back.Read More
This is supposed to be heavy duty, but it is not. I got this for my daughter, and was disappointed in the quality. All the bottoms of each piece had a huge 5" round white sticker that was next to impossible to scrape off even after soaking for a half day. The box was crushed and was mailed inside another box that was in bad shape. I am wondering if this set was already returned by someone. But she is keeping it even though I tried to tell her we should send it back, since it was not exactly cheap.Read More
I received this cookware fairly quickly. Looked nice when I opened the package. Went to wash it so I could put it away and noticed a couple of things that I didn't like. 1. There is a very large "made in China" sticker on the bottom of each pan that must be taken off prior to use. This was a huge pain as it was VERY sticky and extremely difficult to get off. Took me probably an hour to soak, scrub, use Acetone, and other means to get the sticker off. That being said, the pans were very attractive. 2. When the you wash the pan lids, water likes to get trapped underneath the handle. Wonder how this will effect durability. It DOES eventually come out but whenever there are water entrapment issues, one has to wonder. 3. When you wash the pans after cooking (I've washed mine by hand). Seems like the pans "pit" in a few places. Again, this is on the inside and does not detract from the beauty of the outside. Just wondering if this will effect the cookware long term. Overall, the cookware seems to be OK. However, the scrapping off of the stickers almost made me send it back. Overall, I guess I would recommend this set, with Caution. Need to cook with it more to be sure.Read More
I bought this for a gift for my niece (just moved into her own place)and when I got it and checked it out I didn't want to give it up. The pots have great weight real sturdy. The shape is nice and the chicken fryer is great (we tried that out first) deep heavy and with nonstick it is great. The biggest pot is great for making a BIG batch of pasta. She should get many years of use out of this set Thank youRead More

Best Pots and Pans
Choosing cookware for your kitchen comes down to what you like to eat. Think about the recipes that you and your family enjoy, and make sure you have the right pot or pan to prepare them. You can cover most needs with a cookware set, but if you won't use all the pieces in the set, that might not be the right choice for you. If you're buying each piece separately, then use this guide as your shopping list.
Best Reasons to Buy Cookware Sets
If you're shopping for pots and pans, you'll need to decide if you want to buy a set or buy them individually. If any of these situations sound like yours, then buying a set is for you.
Stainless Steel Cookware Care

How to Buy a Wok

Flatware Buying Guide
When selecting flatware, the most important qualities to be aware of are design and metal. These features affect the flatware's cost, durability and maintenance. You'll want to have enough flatware to serve eight to 12 people, plus a few more in case a piece is dropped during the meal and your guest needs a clean replacement. You may want to buy a large set of flatware if you plan on having several guests. There are several flatware pieces you may need, depending on what you serve in the meal and how formal it is; purchase flatware sets to get most of the basic pieces. Remember to care for your flatware appropriately so it always retains its luster.
How to Season Stainless Steel Pans
Seasoning is a process in which you prepare a pan or other cookware before you use it for the first time. When you season stainless steel pots and pans, you are filling the pores of the pan's surface with carbonized oil, which blocks the oxidation process and therefore keeps the cookware from rusting or pitting. In addition, seasoning helps to prevent food from sticking to the pan. The following steps will teach you how to season and protect your stainless steel pots and pans, so they will last longer and work better.
Types of Skillets
One of the most versatile pieces of cookware for any kitchen is the skillet, also known as a fry pan. The types vary in cost, materials, and ease of cleanup. While plenty of skillet choices exist, selecting the one that best suits your needs will help make every dish a success.
How to Break in a Stainless Steel Frying Pan
Unlike cast-iron fry pans, stainless steel fry pans do not need to be seasoned before use; and unlike nonstick fry pans, you will need to use oil to avoid food sticking to the surface of your stainless steel fry pan and even then, some food will still stick. While these facts might seem like disadvantages, they're actually the reasons why many cooks prefer to use stainless steel fry pans. High-quality stainless steel cookware may not be the best for cooking things like eggs, but for the most flavorful searing of fish, meat, and vegetables, stainless steel fry pans are unrivaled. The following steps will teach you how break in your stainless steel fry pan before each use.
How to Set the Dinner Table
Dinner tables are set differently depending on the type of dinnerware and what food is served. Casual dinner table settings provide each person with the three basic pieces of silverware while formal dinner table settings provide guests with a separate piece of silverware for each course served. Plates, bowls, silverware, napkins and glasses are all part of the necessary dinnerware for setting the table. Having separate dinnerware sets for both formal and casual dining events is very helpful for setting the table appropriately.
