I have a similar Concord LeisureMan set and have been very content with using them in the past year or so. I also own a Tri-ply Calphalon set. This Concord set does almost as well as the Calphalon. For its price, it's worth getting it if you're on a budget but want to own a cookware set of decent quality. As for the stains that some of you mentioned, if they resemble blue-ish/purple-ish watermaks, I believe that it's a reaction from the stainless steel (SS) with certtain food/liquid. I use a plastic scouring pad such as the Dobie by Scotch Guard, and a little of the Bar Keepers Friend to wash it off. It brings back to its original bright look. No hard scrubbing is needed. In a matter of fact, you can use Bar Keepers Friend with any item that is SS such as pots, pans, sink, etc.If you're new with using SS pots/pans, here are some suggestions to prevent food from sticking to the cookware: 1) Preheat the cookware first. Start with a low heat level for a minute or two before turning it to the desire heat level. 2) Avoid putting cold or frozen food in a hot SS pot/pan. 3) Avoid using Pam spray, (leave spots that won't come off). It's best to use oil or butter when need to. If food sticks, soak the cookware in warm water for a little while before washing it. Avoid scrubbing hard with your tri-ply cookware and avoid using a steel wool to wash them. Hope these tips help you.
I purchased this set for my husband who is a Chef as an anniversary gift and he was ecstatic, when he received it. These are must buy and definitely worth every single penny. I wish the had at least a stock pot in the set. =( These pots are sturdy well made beautiful, and I highly recommend them.
This set has high quality features such as the 18/10 aluminum and tri-ply sides. The small handles allow the cookware to be centered in the oven and it is attractive enough to take to the table. I have a stainless steel Calphalon set, too, and this cookware seems similar. I use a Dobie pad for easy cleanup. We do not like any coatings on our cookware because of health concerns so we don't mind the extra effort it takes to clean the stainless steel.
I was really pleased with these pots. They are solid and well made. Mine said they were made by Leisureman not concord, but they look like the picture.
These pans look very nice, but don't try to fry anything in them. They are not heavy bottomed enough.
- How did the color on site compare with the actual product? Does not apply.
- Please tell us about the quality of the product. Too thin to be 18/10.
- How accurate was the on site description of the product? Detail about sizes was accurate.
The cookware is just the right size and weight. Each of the items was indivdually packed and we got the delivery very promptly. The image that is being shown in the product details is very poor though. The actual items had a good stainless steel finish.
We just LOVE this set it compares or exceeds my name brand pots at half the price. The weight is great and the finish is better. The sizes are great and useful . Thank you Overstock
I was trying to move away from non-stick. Never thought I was pampered by non-stick 's ez clean. Food gets stuck fast and cleaning is a pain. The sizes are great for everyday cooking but with two kids around its tough to clean them.will suggest if you are standing infront of the stove & making sure food does not burn & stick. But, if you move away a lil bit like with non-stick you could have another cleaning project.Better I have moved to hard anodized. which ,are not non-stick but are super ez to clean. Bought my calpholon ONE (hard anodized)
please see other honest comments these are very light weight pans, opened one of the set and sent it back, Looked and are described as sturdy 3x clad, now noticing other comments about the staining decided not to take a chance and sent them back. Took a chance will need to pay at least 50% more I suspect for better quality
I just love this set, from the day i got these I used them , and the more i use them the more i wish i got them sooner. I never had any REALLY good pots until now. They are just wonderful Thanks again O
I was hoping these pots with be worth the gamble. While they are pretty inexpensive for tri-ply but they are lightweight compared to all clad. That was OK because at first glance they seem to be of pretty good quality otherwise. I am in agreement with the last reviewer about the staining. All stained after one use. I have tried vinegar and baking soda to remove the stains. Baking soda helped most but not completely. Why do these pots stain? Any insight?? Thank you.
Purchased the set as an X-mas gift for my wife. Looks very nice - wish they performed the same.Very tricky getting use to the way they heat up. Worst part is they do not clean without wearing out your scrub pad and brush... It does not matter what you cook in it, even water, they stain very bad . We quit trying to remove the stains that these pots leave. Unfortunately the box was thrown away with all the wrapping paper from X-mas morning. Our loss... Do not let it happen to you... FYI: our water system is fine and does not leave stains on anything!
The depth of the items are out of my expectation. When I viewed them, I thought their depth was big, I don't like to return items in my nature that is why I kept them. I didn't expect the size and depth were so, so small like this. I was so mad when I opend them.
I received my cookware set in a timely manner and it is a very nice looking set. I didn't give any rating for durability as I haven't had the set for long but so far they do nicely.
Wonderful value. great quality. thanks overstock!!
The pans are beautiful, heat up quickly and can be put in the oven. Three tiny holes in the lids let the steam escape so you don't have to cock the lid. The small pot with the handle has ridges where your hand fits comfortably and is not too long. I really like the handle on both sides of the pans, it makes them easy to lift and you feel in complete control. They clean up easily and nicely. I'm pleased to own such beautiful, functional cookware.
