This computer cabinet is a tremendous bargain! I've bought plenty of furniture requiring assembly from PB, C&B and yes, even the good old Scandinavian standby (I'm not certain if we're allowed to mention names) and this cabinet/desk is MUCH better quality than any of the above.Yes, it will take quite a long time to assemble. It took me about 5 hrs working alone. To be fair, I did take my time and took several breaks - not to mention I was watching TV at the same time =) BUT the assembly is not difficult. Every piece it lettered, and the hardware is numbered. They even pack each type of hardware in it's own numbered bag so you do not have to dig through a pile of screws looking for the right size. They also pack extra hardware so if you drop a screw you do not have to go crawling around your floor looking for it.Although the assembly time is long I do not see this as a problem. I'd rather take more time to assemble a good sturdy, well designed piece than have a flimsy piece of junk.The quality is amazing for this price, and even for a much higher price. If I get any liquid on my C&B furniture (which costs much more than this!) and let it set there for more than 10 seconds the veneer starts peeling off. This cabinet does not have the same problem.I also did not have the problem that some reviewers had with the gap in the doors. I did notice when attaching the hinges to the doors themselve that if I kept the hinge closed while attaching it to the door, the doors did not line up well. This is hard to explain and will make sense when you have the hinges in hand. Just remember - keep the hinges open (flat) when screwing them onto the doors.The color of the desk is a very nice walnut and not the super dark espresso brown I was thinking it would be. I HIGHLY recommend this item. You will not be dissapointed.

Great, sturdy piece of furniture. Assembly was a bit of a project, but hubby had it put together in about 2 hours. Keyboard tray is a little shallow for a laptop as others have mentioned. We put the laptop on top of the unit when in use and use a detached keyboard in the keyboard tray....works out fine. I love being able to close the doors and have everything out of sight. This is much better quality than any self-assembled furniture we have purchased in the past.

It looks great. It is nice wood and very sturdy. There is a little gap where the two doors meet in the middle that bothers me a bit, but overall it is great. It is nice to have our home office tucked away in a cabinet that looks great in the bedroom.

This is a beautiful piece of furniture. My 16yo son and I put this piece together which was quite a challenge but well worth it. The direction sheet could have been more detailed but my son was able to figure it out with no problem. I have been able to assemble other RTA furniture by myself but I definitely needed help with this one. The amount of hardware needed for this small piece actually impressed me since once assembled showed the quality and sturdiness of the cabinet. One issue I had with this was trying to line up the doors. They are off just a bit and the hardware isn't as as easy to adjust like others have been. Any suggesttions? This cabinet does look very nice and clean in my den. I am able to keep my laptop, modem, router, recent bills and paperwork which needs immediate attention all in one compact cabinet. The color is rich and finish is smooth yet shows the nice grain of the rubberwood. A great price for this quality cabinet.

This is an extremely sturdy and useful piece of furniture. Nice clean lines that can fit in any type of decor. Roomy file drawer and large pull-out drawer for laptop. All shelves are good sizes. Overall a terrific, solid wood item. You won't regret its purchase.

Have had this piece for a while now and it's holding up well. Used daily by two to three people and no issues with door hinges or keyboard tray. I would purchase it again.

Nice little cabinet. We have an iMac, so the monitor sits on top of this cabinet, but everything else for our office is neatly tucked inside. The only issues we have is that our printer, while it fits, it just fits. We have a printer/scanner so if you want to scan, the top only opens a wee bit unless you slide out the printer. We just happened to have excessive use of the scanner feature for a big project we were working on, so for everyday useage, this isn't an issue. The other problem we had in assembly with the drawer. It's a little off, but works fine. I like the amount of file space in the drawer. We still have a second file drawer we use, so doesn't fit everything, but fits the majority of our every day files (and we probably keep too much stuff!). Looks great though and fits our needs. Warning though, if you do not like to assemble furniture, this was a bit of a challenge. My husband is fairly adept at putting together furniture and he struggled with this a little bit.

There is lots of room in this cabinet, the pull out tray is big enough for a laptop, a netbook, a basket for accessories and 2 mp3 players. The cabinet itself was a bit of a process to put together but I did it completely by myself, so it is an option. The finished project is pretty heavy so build it on the cardboard box so you can slide it where it needs to go when your done.

I didn't not expect this piece of furniture to be so sturdy. It looks and fits great into tight smaller spaces where you need an office. The wood and finish is very nice. Just expect to spend 3-4 hours putting it together. There is only one grip. The doors don't align very well even though the pre-drilled holes are set and attached correctly. This seems to be an issue in general with self-assemble furniture.

I love this cabinet! It does take a little elbow grease to put it together, but what do you expect? It is a very nice color, a rich brown. Feels very solid, not like many inexpensive pieces of furniture that feel like PDF. I would buy this again!

The assembly procedure was a bit involved and took longer than I expected. You definitely need a power drill or power screwdriver to put this together. Once it was done, it looks great and works perfectly.

I was nervous about purchasing this cabinet because I've never built anything like this before. It did take me about 4 nights to complete it... but I did it all by myself! It definitely would have gone a little faster with a little help. The pieces come in 2 VERY heavy boxes. So be prepared for that. Some of the pieces are a little scratched but I believe I may have done that while I was building. So be careful how you lay the pieces on top of each other!! In conclusion, It's the perfect piece - exactly what I was looking for. And it actually matches my dark wood furniture almost perfectly! Very pleased.

LOL.. This is a stunning computer cabinet that doesn't look like a computer cabinet at all. It's beautiful and very well made. Solid wood and heavy. Now all my blinking routers and computer equipments are hidden away and that is priceless :)

Nice look, quality materials. A bit difficult to put together-3+ hours, but worth it in the end. Shopped locally and couldn't find anything like it. Would recommend.

The cabinet looks great! It is just what I have been searching for. It took me about 4 hours to put it together. The directions were unclear at certain points and some of the pieces were mislabled. The only disappointing thing is my all in one printer does not fit in the cabinet.

...feeling awful as I watch my husband assembling into hour 4. I'd rather have saved the money and payed the extra $1000 and gotten something high end. Some of the metal pieces look as if they have been chewed up and spit out by some metal eating beast. A few of the pieces are labeled incorrectly, and parts of the directions are written as if the person who wrote it was looking at the desk backwards. It truly isn't worth the effort.

My husband and I just finished putting this together. It took us a little over 2 hours. The cabinet looks very nice. Good quality wood and the finish looks nice. No problems with assembly, all predrilled holes in the right spot, etc. This cabinet has very simple style with clean lines, which is just what we were looking for. This is taller than I expected (didnt really look that closely at dimensions) and I am pleasantly surprised at how much room there is to store all of our home office "junk". We searched for several weeks for something that would hold our computer and miscellaneous office items but we also wanted/needed something we could close and possibly lock to keep our 16 month old son out as this will be in our den/playroom. This was the best option we found and we are very pleased with our purchase.

The desk was horrible to put together. My husband spent all day and the peices were not correct. We had to do the best we could because returning something like this is very difficult. I would not recommend this one to any one. The desk looks great at a glance but is made of very cheap material.

This was my first purchase with Overstock and I was pleasantly surprised by the total experience. The cabinet purchased was of good quality and very well packed to avoid damage through shipping. I agree with the other reviewers that putting it together was challenging. It took a lot of patience at times. However, the end product was worth it. The cabinet is beautiful and fits well in my bedroom with all the other furniture. I can put my laptop in the keyboard tray and close the doors when it's not in use. My flatscreen TV sits on top of the cabinet elimating the need for a separate stand for that. The only negative is that the doors are not hideaway.

Although I love the quality of this cabinet and the design of it, the drawers and the hinges were not aligned. We had to take it apart and put it back together. This took several hours.
