Comfort Dreams Soyamboo 10-inch Queen-size Memory Foam Mattress

I have sciatica issues, so I was looking for a nice, firm mattress. When I read about this mattress, I thought trying a memory foam style mattress would be a good choice for me. This mattress is extremely firm! The first week I had the mattress, I had an "egg crate" foam topper on it which I had used on my previous spring mattress. It was very comfortable. This week, I am sleeping on the mattress without the egg crate just to compare. Again, it is a very comfortable, firm mattress! I recommend the Soyamboo pillows, too. I've had them for about 9 months now, and I am so happy to have them with this mattress. The memory foam seems to make all the difference in my getting comfortable quickly and having a good night's sleep. The mattress arrived within a week. It was rolled up in cardboard packing. It was quite heavy, so I had help getting it up to my room and positioning it on my box springs. The mattress was about 3 inches thick at first. It unfolded itself and within about a half hour it was almost at full loft! I did not sleep on my new mattress for 36 hours. I wanted it to achieve it's full size before I slept on it. I never noticed any weird odor from the plastic or foam. This is a nice, thick mattress that fits my sheets just fine. So far, I am very happy. I read a lot of reviews prior to this purchase. I will try to post again in about 6 months with an update. I hope I am not disappointed. I think this is a very comfortable mattress........so far!

I am very happy with my new mattress. It plumped up right away and the odor has not been bad at all. It is nice and firm which is what I wanted. I can change positions and it doesn't disrupt the other side of the bed. I have a very narrow and windey stairwell. I was able to get the mattress up while it was still in it's plastic bag with the help of a friend without any problems. I never would have gotten a "regular" mattress up my stairs. I would recommend this mattress to friends and family.

The mattress arrived very quickly after placing the order. The packaging was unique with the mattress compressed into a cylinder with heavy wrapping paper and plastic protecting the mattress during transit. We purchased this mattress for a guest bedroom we were just completing in our new house. We unpacked and placed the mattress on the bed and it expanded into a firm queen size bedding that fit perfectly on the newly purchased bed frame. We have had several guest and adult children who have used the bedroom. They all are very complementary of the comfort and support of the mattress. I cannot comment on the life expectancy of this particular mattress, but its use in a guest bedroom should work just fine for a number of years.

First thing you need to know about this mattress is that the day you get it, it will be extremely FIRM! The instructions say to wait 24 to 72 hours. DO THIS! Otherwise you are going to feel like you're sleeping on the floor! Also, while we noticed the smell when we put our noses up to the mattress, we couldn't smell it otherwise. While it was "fluffing" itself up, we turned our fan on high and never smelled that "chemical" smell again. It's also true that it comes in a big roll wrapped up in plastic. It is heavy. Don't unwrap this far away from where you need it to eventually be. It isn't easy to carry! With that said, the first week you sleep on this mattress you will probably hate it! We sure did. It is really firm and uncomfortable. We've also noticed that sleeping on a flat, non pillow top mattress makes our pillows appear flatter. I think we'll need to add an extra pillow or get new ones altogether. I think sleeping on a memory foam mattress takes time and your body needs to adjust to sleeping on something different. You might think you want to sleep on a cloud, but in reality, most of us need softness plus support. Sleeping on something super mushy and comfy at first will end up causing back problems (like a traditional mattress!) You need to do your homework when picking out a mattress. I googled a comparison site that is non biased and it told me all of the different brands, how they rated, how much they cost, what kind of foam they had, customer reviews, and other details. We picked this mattress for the reviews, for the price, but most importantly, for the foam density. You'll find that anything 3lbs and up is good and the longevity of your mattress increases with higher foam density. This mattress has 4lb memory foam. Most of the others you'll find have 3. 3 is good, but 4 is better. With that said, 4 is also firmer. We knew this going in but after reading other reviews for different mattresses, we figured with time this mattress would soften up, but still retain its memory foam qualities. So far this has proven to be true. Our mattress has now softened but is still supporting our bodies. Bottom line: Do your homework, read reviews (please ignore ones that talk about defects and shipping errors....this happens with all kinds of products and doesn't really reflect anything having to do with what you're considering buying!) and buy carefully. You can't return this once you buy on overstock, but if you're careful and understand what you're getting into, you won't need to return it!
