After much research I purchased this Comfort Dreams foam mattress, and comfortwise I am incredibly happy. I am sleeping wonderfully, and some aches I had been waking w on my old mattress have almost disappeared. I would have rated this Excellent but for the issue of smell; I chose this mattress partially bc many people said they didn't notice a smell, and it probably is mild compared to some foam mattresses .. but early on, after allowing it two days to air and fully expand, the off gassing smell was noticeable to me. It is fading, I have had the mattress a couple of weeks now, and expect that it will be unnoticeable someday soon. But I have been changing the sheets and airing it frequently to aid this process .. if I hadn't had to do this, I would have rated it excellent.Read More
Great for my back! Don't get firm if you like a soft bed, you will regret it. I have a friend that bought the same mattress, I bought a medium, she bought a firm. I love mine, hers is too firm for her. But the mattress is fantastic!! I've bought one for everyone in our family.Read More
I bought this mattress for my teenage daughter. It is very comfy. She gets a good rest sleeping on it.Read More
I love this mattress. I got medium and its great. Not too soft, not too firm, Just like Goldylock's bed (smile), just right. I laid it down for the day to allow it to expand and slept on iit that night. My old mattress was a craftmatic and I had it for 12 years. I didn't want to let it go because of the leg and head lifting ability but it simply wasn't comfortable anymore, and you can't keep a bed that kills your back just because it lifts your head and legs (LOL). Ever since I got this bed I haven't looked back and I'm sleeping like a baby. There's nothing like a good sleep...Aaah.Read More
Ordered this mattress after purchasing another for my sons room. He left for college and took his 10 yr old sealy to his new apt. I was pleasantly surprised. My mom stayed with us for a couple weeks and it's so impressed her. I even escape to that room when I am having trouble sleeping myself and it seems to do the trick. I would def purchase another.Read More
I ordered this mattress in the soft version for my guest bedroom and although it is fairly comfortable I dont find it to be "soft" at all. It does get a little softer after you lay on it for a few minutes but when you first lay down it feels about like laying on the floor to me. I like my mattresses very soft so it's a disappointment in the firmness but if you dont mind a firmer mattress this is s fantastic price and overall seems to be great quality. It had an odor for all of 5 minutes after unpackaging it and came neatly packaged rolled up like a giant sausage and flattened out immediately. I would recommend ordering the soft if you like medium firmness because like I said I would consider this medium to hard firmness.Read More
I bought the soft after reading reviews , It perfect ! bought the 9" wish I had bought the 11 " but, later I will buy another put this one In guest room ...only because my bed frame eats my pillow wide opening on headboad . I added a 2 " topper cool gel brings It up perfect . very little smell on this one , on other one I bought was no smell , opened them up after a week after they came , because we had a funeral In famly . It popped right up in shape.I was really Impressed at the quality !! My family bought the 3,000 dollor beds . well cant wait to show them mine . looks same , feels same . when It arrives you think , hmmmmm looks funny rolled up . be careful not to use shape item to open , score cardboard with something then pill it off . Its the best mattress I ever had , never will go bk to old ones again !!! Oh solf is not so soft its med firm . But this . do ur self a favor.Read More
I did a lot of research to find a good memory foam mattress. There was no way I was going to spend $2000 on Tempurpedic, and Overstock had a really good, wide selection of memory foam to choose from. I went with the Comfort Dreams because of the "Select A Firmness" option - I really wanted to make sure the bed would not be too soft. I selected the 9 inch based on online research about other brands, and selected the firmest option available. I compared the description with the description of other memory foam mattresses - I even quizzed a guy at Sleepy's to make sure I was getting something comparable! I am really delighted with the mattress. I've had it for more than a year now, and its firmness has not changed at all. It's super comfortable, and friends who have tried it have all commented on how nice my bed is. I say it's like sleeping on a marshmallow. If you're looking for something rock hard, this is not your mattress. This mattress is not as responsive as a Tempurpedic - you're not going to see the very isolated hand print they advertise - but having tried a Tempurpedic, I can say that the difference is irrelevant. The mattress is supportive, has no hot/cold issues, and definitely inspires a restful night's sleep! Overstock delivered the mattress in a roll, which is very convenient for maneuvering a mattress in a tiny apartment! I got the mattress around 7PM, unrolled it on a bed frame (NOTE: get a bunkie board to support the mattress, or buy more slats to push together - that's what I did), and left it alone to "rise" for about 5 hours. After that 5 hours, the bed was very ready to be slept on. There was no offensive odor after the initial unpacking, but I was careful to have good airflow while I was unpacking and letting it rise. The only minor downside is that the corners are easily squashed when sitting to put on shoes or something, but I put on shoes every day and I'm never bothered! If I were to buy a new mattress, I would purchase this again. Considering the quality, the price is really unbeatable.Read More
The bed arrived super fast(we worry about things like that here) and decompressed fully in a couple of hours. The smell was hardly noticeable and not unpleasant by bed time the first night. I do believe the firmness rating should be changed a bit. I ordered a medium, but it's more firm than medium. When I can get a queen I'll be getting a soft. The size variation disclaimer is true, the width is correct, but this full size is 4 inches shorter than the full box frame I put it on. For the price no worries, I'm short too :)Read More
The ordering and delivery process was excellent. But unfortunately I am disappointed with the mattress because it definitely is not firm and that's what I ordered. It actually sinks in the middle, the sides are firmer. It's almost as if the mattress had been used and was returned but supposedly you can not return them once opened. Sorry for the negative review because all other purchases through Overstock.com have been excellent.Read More

Best Pillow-top Mattresses for Back Pain
The key to a good night's sleep when you have chronic back pain is as simple as choosing a good pillow-top mattress. Choosing the best mattress involves knowledge of your personal needs and preferences. To get a comfortable night's sleep, start by choosing a pillow-top mattress made from the right materials for you. Next, choose your preferred thickness. Finally, have firm sleep support underneath the cushions of the pillow-top. Below, you'll learn the best pillow-top mattresses for back pain. Choose the materials: Pillow-top mattresses are made from a variety of materials, so choosing the one that is right for you can make all the difference in the world. People with muscle pain should consider down pillow-top mattresses, which provide a cocoon to sleep in. Those with back issues will generally prefer memory foam pillow-top mattresses, which conform to the body and offer consistent support to areas like the lower back. However, it is important to check the manufacturer's information regarding the recommended weight allowances for these types of pillow-tops. Consumers who are heavier than the recommendations may find that the pillow-top cushion compresses in uncomfortable ways, leaving the mattress lumpy. Determine the thickness: Pillow-top mattresses come in a variety of thicknesses, from just 2 inches to 8 or more inches deep. Like choosing the right materials for your pillow-top, choosing the right depth is vital to getting a good night's sleep. Thinner pillow-top mattresses will allow more of the support from the remainder of the mattress to come through and will not develop body indentations as pronounced as those in a deep pillow-top. Pillow-top mattresses that are too soft may fail to provide back support and cause an increase in back pain. However, deep pillow-top mattresses are excellent for customers who suffer from fibromyalgia or other chronic pain. Check the warranty: Just as you would with any other purchases of its size, check the warranty of your pillow-top mattress. Most manufacturers will provide limited, pro-rated replacement warranties for manufacturer's defects, and some will provide a "comfort guarantee." Others may have specific conditions that must be met in order to maintain the warranty, such as having a boxed spring by the same manufacturer. Take note of any special conditions for the warranty and keep the paperwork. View All Mattresses Back to Guides Directory View All Mattresses
How to Fit Queen Beds in Small Spaces
Ideal for guest rooms or additional bedrooms, queen beds measure 60 inches wide and 80 inches long. For a couple, a queen bed provides about 30 inches of space per person. Larger and more comfortable than double or full beds, queen beds occupy less space than king beds. This makes them a great choice for bedrooms with space limitations. Knowing how to select queen beds and fit them in small spaces enables you to maximize their potential and your available floor space. Look below to learn how to fit queen beds in small spaces.
How to Select a Box Spring
Many people underestimate the importance of a good box spring, but as the foundation of the bed, it can be just as vital to the comfort of your mattress set as the mattress. Before purchasing a box spring, it's necessary to think about size, quality and value, as well as comfort. The right box spring can make or break a mattress purchase, so shop wisely and take the time to select the box spring that's right for your bed. To select a box spring, good research and patient shopping are the keys to success.
Best Reasons to Have a California King Bed
Similar in size to a standard king bed, a California king bed is four inches longer, allowing a lot of extra room top to bottom. A California king bed measures 72 inches wide and 84 inches long, and a standard king mattress measures 76 inches wide and 80 inches long, so while a California king mattress is four inches longer, it is also about four inches thinner than a standard king bed. Making a decision between the two might be difficult. Ultimately, both are great options, but there are a few conditions that might make a California king size bed the clear choice. Before you pick which king mattress is right for you, here are a few of the best reasons to choose a California king bed.
How to Pick a Pillow

Not only do good pillows add aesthetic value to your bed, but they can also be the difference between a restful night or an aching back and neck. Pillows come in different shapes, sizes and firmness. Best Reasons to Buy Firm Baby Crib Mattresses
When you're shopping for baby crib mattresses, safety should always come first. You may be tempted towards the soft baby crib mattresses for your child, thinking that he'll be more comfortable. There are many reasons to buy a firm baby mattress, and the following tips can help you determine what to look for.

Best Mattresses for Every Sleeping Position
A mattress is one of the most important purchases you can make because you spend hours each day sleeping and rejuvenating for the next day. While shopping for a new mattress, keep in mind the typical sleeping positions you have to ensure you will find the right mattress to help with bone or joint alignment. Below, you'll learn the best mattresses for every sleeping position. Sleeping on your back: If you primarily sleep on your back, you need to find a mattress with support to prevent pain in the lower back. Sleeping on a mattress that does not have enough support causes muscle strain in the back and increases the chance you will assume a poor posture during sleep, leaving you achy in the morning. The best mattresses for this sleeping position have at least 400 to 800 14-gauge coils. Innerspring mattresses feature firm coils to support the back yet still mold to the curvature of the spine. Mattresses with box springs are ideal for those who sleep on their backs because they stabilize weight, offering back support and increasing the life of the bedding. Sleeping on your stomach: While sleeping on your stomach is comfortable, it also increases pressure and strain on parts of the body like the neck or back. Soft mattresses are the best for those who sleep on their stomachs. Look for mattresses that have 300 to 400 14-gauge coils, which will ensure the mattress is soft and comfortable. If you must use a pillow, look into buying a memory foam style, which molds to the head and neck to stabilize them during sleep. Sleeping on your side: Side sleeping is one of the most common positions on a mattress, and it may also be one of the hardest positions to shop for. Since you lay on your side, there is pressure on the shoulders and hips, which could make a firm mattress uncomfortable for sleeping. A mattress that is too soft is often not supportive enough to keep the spine in proper alignment. The ideal mattress for this position is one that has supportive coils, with a memory foam topper to provide comfort to the joints of the body. Two of the most popular mattress construction technologies are air-filled cores and memory foam. When comparing these two products, consider price, comfort and durability before making a final selection.
How to Clean Down Featherbeds
Down featherbeds provide an additional layer of comfort between you and your mattress. If your bed produces more aches and pains than dreams, a featherbed is a good solution. Featherbeds should last for many years, depending on the quality of the feathers, properties of the cover and use. This article should help you get a grasp on how to clean down featherbeds.
How to Test Crib Mattress Firmness
You've picked out an adorable crib. Now it's time to find the right crib mattress to go in it. Like the rest of your baby furniture, you want your crib mattress to be the very best, and that means buying a firm mattress for your baby. When you're shopping for baby mattresses, your guideline should be "the firmer, the better." A firm baby mattress that fits your crib properly can help prevent injury and SIDS.
