how much does this mattress weigh?
Package was torn up on delivery, but no damage to the product. The bed is indeed a dream for me. I got the medium firm and I'm sleeping much better. Medium is comfortable for me, but I can understand how some might consider it too soft. No problems with lingering odors for me....

We bought this for my 3 year old when it was time to transition her to a twin. We left it to air out for a few days and put it on the platform. She is sleeping longer on it than her crib mattress and I have even slept very comfortably on it with her. Great buy.Read More
14" or thicker is definitely the way to go here. Anything thinner is pointless. We had the 11" and it was terrible. 14" is great.Read More
this is my 3rd 'Select a Comfort" Mattress. I always get the 'soft'. It's so comfy but still gives fabulous support! I have one in a rental home, and it's the only mattress that's lasted more than 1 year (it's in it's 3rd year this year). HIGHLY RECOMMEND! i don't know, but i can't believe a temperpedic at 10x the price would be any better!Read More
I called all local stores and Overstock beat them by a huge margin. Also, all the reviews were very positive. Could not be happier! Medium firmness is still very soft and comfortable.Read More
We bought this mattress for my 3 year old son's new bed. My husband and I sleep on a memory foam mattress as do my parents and they are the best. I knew when the time came for a twin size bed we would buy memory foam. This mattress is wonderful, it inflated right away, and is very comfortable. I had already bought our mattress from Overstock so I was not afraid to buy this off the internet. The only thing I was nervous about was picking the correct "firmness." I love firm mattresses, but didn't think my little boy would. We ended up getting him the medium firmness and it was a great choice. My mom recently stayed with us and got to stay in my son's bed. She loved it!Read More
I have CPOD & arthritis among other things. I had not been able to sleep in a bed for over 2 years. I ordered the mattress to go a daybed in my room for the family to sit and watch movies with me. I sit on the mattress and thought I might be able to sleep on it. I have every night. Words escape me to say how thankful I am to be able to sleep on a bed again. On the bed is the only place I am not in pain from my arthritis.Read More
I have been looking at Temperpedic mattresses for over a year and they are wonderful. That being said, I just could not bring myself to pay $2000 for one. I decided to take a chance on this mattress based on other customer reviews. I've been sleeping on it for 1 week and I am thrilled with it. Bed time is now my favorite time of the day. I chose the firm option and would compare it closely to the original Temperpedic OriginalBed. Trust me, I've done my homework, benefit from my research. ORDER THIS MATTRESS.Read More
We bought this mattress in medium firmness. It is perfect. I sleep like a baby in a womb. Deep and wonderfully refreshing sleep. There are no pressure points and the medium is firm enough but soft enough to let you sink into the "cloud". I bought the thick flannel sheet set too for total comfort. I fall asleep faster than ever before. I wake up without any aches and pains. It doesn't matter which way that you lay of this mattress you will sleep so deep and so well that you will find yourself thinking of the bed during the day. Mine seems to call out to me. After a day of working on my feet on concrete flooring and a bad back, I LOVE this bed! I awake refreshed and feeling wonderful. It has a medium firmness. If you want total softness, then buy the soft. But for me, this medium mattress is perfect! Love it!Read More
I must say I was skeptical about ordering beds online, but I wanted memory foam and you just can't beat this price anywhere. I was pleasantly surprised. The beds came rolled up but I was able to move them into the house and up 2 flights of stairs myself. They took a few days to come back to full size and to air out the memory foam smell, but when they did they were exactly the size listed. The only thing I would change is that I would probably get firm instead of medium if I had it to do over again. Medium is like a medium-firm regular mattress, so if you like firm beds, definitely order the firm option. It is also nice that they include a mattress cover. You will not find another 14" memory foam mattress for this price anywhere! Very happy with this purchase.Read More

Best Mattresses for Every Sleeping Position
A mattress is one of the most important purchases you can make because you spend hours each day sleeping and rejuvenating for the next day. While shopping for a new mattress, keep in mind the typical sleeping positions you have to ensure you will find the right mattress to help with bone or joint alignment. Below, you'll learn the best mattresses for every sleeping position. Sleeping on your back: If you primarily sleep on your back, you need to find a mattress with support to prevent pain in the lower back. Sleeping on a mattress that does not have enough support causes muscle strain in the back and increases the chance you will assume a poor posture during sleep, leaving you achy in the morning. The best mattresses for this sleeping position have at least 400 to 800 14-gauge coils. Innerspring mattresses feature firm coils to support the back yet still mold to the curvature of the spine. Mattresses with box springs are ideal for those who sleep on their backs because they stabilize weight, offering back support and increasing the life of the bedding. Sleeping on your stomach: While sleeping on your stomach is comfortable, it also increases pressure and strain on parts of the body like the neck or back. Soft mattresses are the best for those who sleep on their stomachs. Look for mattresses that have 300 to 400 14-gauge coils, which will ensure the mattress is soft and comfortable. If you must use a pillow, look into buying a memory foam style, which molds to the head and neck to stabilize them during sleep. Sleeping on your side: Side sleeping is one of the most common positions on a mattress, and it may also be one of the hardest positions to shop for. Since you lay on your side, there is pressure on the shoulders and hips, which could make a firm mattress uncomfortable for sleeping. A mattress that is too soft is often not supportive enough to keep the spine in proper alignment. The ideal mattress for this position is one that has supportive coils, with a memory foam topper to provide comfort to the joints of the body. How to Select a Memory Foam Mattress
If you wake up with sore shoulders or an aching back, your old mattress is probably to blame. When you upgrade to a memory foam mattress, you'll enjoy comfortable nights on the viscoelastic foam that was originally developed by NASA scientists. To make sure you get the best mattress for your needs, you'll want to consider these factors while you're online shopping for a memory foam mattress.
Best Pillow-top Mattresses for Back Pain
The key to a good night's sleep when you have chronic back pain is as simple as choosing a good pillow-top mattress. Choosing the best mattress involves knowledge of your personal needs and preferences. To get a comfortable night's sleep, start by choosing a pillow-top mattress made from the right materials for you. Next, choose your preferred thickness. Finally, have firm sleep support underneath the cushions of the pillow-top. Below, you'll learn the best pillow-top mattresses for back pain. Choose the materials: Pillow-top mattresses are made from a variety of materials, so choosing the one that is right for you can make all the difference in the world. People with muscle pain should consider down pillow-top mattresses, which provide a cocoon to sleep in. Those with back issues will generally prefer memory foam pillow-top mattresses, which conform to the body and offer consistent support to areas like the lower back. However, it is important to check the manufacturer's information regarding the recommended weight allowances for these types of pillow-tops. Consumers who are heavier than the recommendations may find that the pillow-top cushion compresses in uncomfortable ways, leaving the mattress lumpy. Determine the thickness: Pillow-top mattresses come in a variety of thicknesses, from just 2 inches to 8 or more inches deep. Like choosing the right materials for your pillow-top, choosing the right depth is vital to getting a good night's sleep. Thinner pillow-top mattresses will allow more of the support from the remainder of the mattress to come through and will not develop body indentations as pronounced as those in a deep pillow-top. Pillow-top mattresses that are too soft may fail to provide back support and cause an increase in back pain. However, deep pillow-top mattresses are excellent for customers who suffer from fibromyalgia or other chronic pain. Check the warranty: Just as you would with any other purchases of its size, check the warranty of your pillow-top mattress. Most manufacturers will provide limited, pro-rated replacement warranties for manufacturer's defects, and some will provide a "comfort guarantee." Others may have specific conditions that must be met in order to maintain the warranty, such as having a boxed spring by the same manufacturer. Take note of any special conditions for the warranty and keep the paperwork. View All Mattresses Back to Guides Directory View All Mattresses

Best Reasons to Buy Firm Baby Crib Mattresses
When you're shopping for baby crib mattresses, safety should always come first. A soft mattress may make sleeping more comfortable for you, but the same could be hazardous, even deadly, for your infant. Baby crib mattresses should be firm -- as firm as possible -- to keep your little one safe during the night or daytime naps. You may be tempted towards the soft baby crib mattresses for your child, thinking that he'll be more comfortable. Babies, however, don't need the same joint support as adults, but they do need baby crib mattresses that reduce the risk of harm from their baby furniture while they sleep. There are many reasons to buy a firm baby mattress, and the following tips can help you determine what to look for.

How to Choose a Mattress for Back Pain
There's not a single mattress type that's best for back pain. While studies suggest that a medium-firm mattress is most likely to soothe a sore spine, your mileage may vary: one person's back problem can respond well to a memory foam mattress, while another person might feel best on a model with inner springs. If you're on the hunt for some bedding to help alleviate a sore body, take a look below to learn how to choose a mattress for back pain.
There are basically three common types of mattresses used today: spring mattresses, memory foam mattresses, inflatable mattresses and feather beds. Each type has its own benefits. A mattress pad is a less expensive way to add comfort to your bed than purchasing a whole new mattress. With that said, if your mattress is lumpy or saggy, a mattress topper probably won't make much difference. If it is good, though, you have many different choices in material, price, and comfort. Whatever you get, just make sure you purchase the right size for your bed frame. Take a look below to learn more about the best-selling mattresses on the market.

How to Select a Box Spring
Many people underestimate the importance of a good box spring, but as the foundation of the bed, it can be just as vital to the comfort of your mattress set as the mattress. Before purchasing a box spring, it's necessary to think about size, quality and value, as well as comfort. The right box spring can make or break a mattress purchase, so shop wisely and take the time to select the box spring that's right for your bed. To select a box spring, good research and patient shopping are the keys to success.
How to Choose a Memory Foam Mattress Topper
Memory foam, also called "temper foam," was first developed by NASA in the mid-1960s to ensure passenger comfort and protection in airplane seats. Memory foam mattress toppers mold to the body, and then slowly spring back to their original shape. This makes them ideal for those with back or joint pain. However, not all memory foam mattress toppers are the same. Here's how to choose one that will best suit your needs.
