I received this mattress in 4 days after ordering. I was pleased with how easy it was to handle in spite of how large a package it is. Easy to unpack and setup. There was the "odor" that I was warned about in the literature that lingered for about 4 days or so. I slept on it the first night of arrival, and after 2 days it was fully expanded. I love this mattress. My head hits the pillow and I'm out until I wake up for work. A friend of mine put out $5K for a name brand memory foam, hated it, and took it back to the local furniture store, and was charged a restocking fee. I won't be sending this mattress back. I purchased the medium firm, and even my wife, who is extremely particular when it comes to beds, laid down on this mattress, during the day, and was out for two hours. She couldn't believe it. I can't imagine anyone being disappointed with this purchase. It's well made, well finished, and extremely comfortable.Read More
I would like to thank the people who took the time to review the mattress, they helped me make my decision to purchase this mattress.... Our old mattress was to firm, so 6years ago we purch. a foam mattress topper from O. which was great, but it started to wear out about 8 months ago - the aches were back and we didn't rest good anymore. It was time for a new mattress, after researching we knew we wanted a memory foam mattress. We looked in stores but the prices were outrageous, so we checked out "Overstock" were we bought the foam topper from a few years ago, but there so many choices. The reviews helped me with this... It is the best mattress I have purchased, no regrets. My husband and I sleep well again with no aches no pains in the morning.Sweet DreamsRead More
We have suffered with an old and torn up mattress for a few years. Both of us wake several times a night with shoulder pain and back pain. We wanted a posterpedic, but couldn't shell out the $3k for it. We read each review carefully for this mattress and chose the soft because we didn't want it too firm. It is perfect and we are sleeping like we have never slept before. The soft firmness is perfect and is definitely not too soft... I think they should call the soft a medium instead. We are finally feeling rested and revived. We didn't get too much of the odor others talked about, but we did let it air out for 2 days. You will need deep fitted sheets for this 14" mattress... it's tall. Totally worth the money. We love love love it. My husband has never been able to sleep well because he is a big guy and has a hard time getting comfortable (6'7 250lbs). He has been sleeping like a baby without budging for the last 4 nights. Shipment also came within 3 days of ordering!Read More
This mattress came shortly after ordering in a large tube. My husband easily pushed it upstairs and opened it before I could help him! It unrolled totally flat with no smell and was ready to use that night. The mattress has really helped my hip bursitis that always hurt in the morning after sleeping on my side. With this mattress, I fall asleep on my back and wake on my back, I don't have to sleep on my side to be comfortable. It's so comfortable. It's not great just to sit on though - you slide off! So much better than our Sealy Beautyrest - we love it.Read More
I pored over all the reviews here before choosing the "medium" firmness. I am a chronic pain sufferer and can neither sleep on a bed that's too hard or soft. The "medium" firmness was SO HARD. I considered returning it but to have it picked up and repacked (I live close to the shipping facility) was going to cost me over $***. (Keep in mind, these mattresses are non-returnable!) We elected to get a soft topper to go over this mattress and now it's perfect. We got the 3 pound, 3 inch breathable foam topper here on Overstock for about $100 more. The only issue with this is now our mattress is 17" thick! Our bed is so high it's ridiculous, but hey, it's comfortable. I'm using the extra deep sheets from here on Overstock but they still take elastic clips to stay on now that the mattress is so huge. Hope this helps!Read More
This mattress was okay for a little while, but after 3 years of sleeping on it, it has totally lost its support. It is lumpy and sags in the middle. It's actually causing my husband and I to be up at night and we both awake with back and neck pain. We are soon going to have to purchase another mattress, this time I will not try to find something so inexpensive, because you get what you pay for! Considering we spend 1/3 of our lives sleeping, I think I would rather try to skimp elsewhere.Read More
I ordered the Cal-King soft mattress. The first 3 nights sleep were AMAZING. I had never slept better. The 4th night, was uncomfortable. The 5th, unbearable. So much so, that I flipped the mattress over so the "hard foam base" was on top. I slept on that for about a week, and now even the hard foam is too soft. :( I didn't have ANY aches or pains before sleeping on this mattress, but I do now (back. hip, shoulder). It does give off a bit of gas smell, so I let it air out in a spare bedroom for 1 week.... sadly, it still smelled bad. I didn't notice the mattress making me sleep hotter than a box spring mattress, so that is a plus. Unfortunately, it's non-refundable. Live and learn.Read More
We returned an 11" memory foam mattress to **** - (like Overstock, they have a great returns policy) it was too soft and I ordered this mattress from Overstock. Was delivered quickly, no persistent odor as some report with these mattresses (slept on the first night) and is truly very firm which we wanted. The firmer mattresses have denser memory foam and thicker foundation foam layers which we hope will help it to last.Read More
I have had this mattress for over a year. It is still in great condition. I bought this in the cal king size in firm. I usually like soft beds, but this is a memory foam, so how hard/firm can it be. I chose firm because I think that over time, the firmness will get softer. However, if you have a soft, it may get too soft or squishy over a long period of time (this is just my opinion). The firm is great, my boyfriend likes firm and I like soft, so this works great for both of us. It is very comfortable and when I travel, I just want to come home to to this bed. I did buy a waterproof protector and let me tell you what, it is worth it. Every time I take off the protector to wash, the mattress looks brand new!! I do vaguely remember that there was a smell when I first got it, but it does wear off. It does need time to expand when you first get it, just follow the directions. I know it is tempting to just test it out right away. So far after a year, there is no sag in the middle, like regular mattresses.Read More
Great for my back! Don't get firm if you like a soft bed, you will regret it. I have a friend that bought the same mattress, I bought a medium, she bought a firm. I love mine, hers is too firm for her. But the mattress is fantastic!! I've bought one for everyone in our family.Read More

Best Mattresses for Every Sleeping Position
A mattress is one of the most important purchases you can make because you spend hours each day sleeping and rejuvenating for the next day. While shopping for a new mattress, keep in mind the typical sleeping positions you have to ensure you will find the right mattress to help with bone or joint alignment. Below, you'll learn the best mattresses for every sleeping position. Sleeping on your back: If you primarily sleep on your back, you need to find a mattress with support to prevent pain in the lower back. Sleeping on a mattress that does not have enough support causes muscle strain in the back and increases the chance you will assume a poor posture during sleep, leaving you achy in the morning. The best mattresses for this sleeping position have at least 400 to 800 14-gauge coils. Innerspring mattresses feature firm coils to support the back yet still mold to the curvature of the spine. Mattresses with box springs are ideal for those who sleep on their backs because they stabilize weight, offering back support and increasing the life of the bedding. Sleeping on your stomach: While sleeping on your stomach is comfortable, it also increases pressure and strain on parts of the body like the neck or back. Soft mattresses are the best for those who sleep on their stomachs. Look for mattresses that have 300 to 400 14-gauge coils, which will ensure the mattress is soft and comfortable. If you must use a pillow, look into buying a memory foam style, which molds to the head and neck to stabilize them during sleep. Sleeping on your side: Side sleeping is one of the most common positions on a mattress, and it may also be one of the hardest positions to shop for. Since you lay on your side, there is pressure on the shoulders and hips, which could make a firm mattress uncomfortable for sleeping. A mattress that is too soft is often not supportive enough to keep the spine in proper alignment. The ideal mattress for this position is one that has supportive coils, with a memory foam topper to provide comfort to the joints of the body. How to Select a Memory Foam Mattress
If you wake up with sore shoulders or an aching back, your old mattress is probably to blame. When you upgrade to a memory foam mattress, you'll enjoy comfortable nights on the viscoelastic foam that was originally developed by NASA scientists. To make sure you get the best mattress for your needs, you'll want to consider these factors while you're online shopping for a memory foam mattress.
Best Pillow-top Mattresses for Back Pain
The key to a good night's sleep when you have chronic back pain is as simple as choosing a good pillow-top mattress. Choosing the best mattress involves knowledge of your personal needs and preferences. To get a comfortable night's sleep, start by choosing a pillow-top mattress made from the right materials for you. Next, choose your preferred thickness. Finally, have firm sleep support underneath the cushions of the pillow-top. Below, you'll learn the best pillow-top mattresses for back pain. Choose the materials: Pillow-top mattresses are made from a variety of materials, so choosing the one that is right for you can make all the difference in the world. People with muscle pain should consider down pillow-top mattresses, which provide a cocoon to sleep in. Those with back issues will generally prefer memory foam pillow-top mattresses, which conform to the body and offer consistent support to areas like the lower back. However, it is important to check the manufacturer's information regarding the recommended weight allowances for these types of pillow-tops. Consumers who are heavier than the recommendations may find that the pillow-top cushion compresses in uncomfortable ways, leaving the mattress lumpy. Determine the thickness: Pillow-top mattresses come in a variety of thicknesses, from just 2 inches to 8 or more inches deep. Like choosing the right materials for your pillow-top, choosing the right depth is vital to getting a good night's sleep. Thinner pillow-top mattresses will allow more of the support from the remainder of the mattress to come through and will not develop body indentations as pronounced as those in a deep pillow-top. Pillow-top mattresses that are too soft may fail to provide back support and cause an increase in back pain. However, deep pillow-top mattresses are excellent for customers who suffer from fibromyalgia or other chronic pain. Check the warranty: Just as you would with any other purchases of its size, check the warranty of your pillow-top mattress. Most manufacturers will provide limited, pro-rated replacement warranties for manufacturer's defects, and some will provide a "comfort guarantee." Others may have specific conditions that must be met in order to maintain the warranty, such as having a boxed spring by the same manufacturer. Take note of any special conditions for the warranty and keep the paperwork. View All Mattresses Back to Guides Directory View All Mattresses

Best Reasons to Buy Firm Baby Crib Mattresses
When you're shopping for baby crib mattresses, safety should always come first. You may be tempted towards the soft baby crib mattresses for your child, thinking that he'll be more comfortable. Babies, however, don't need the same joint support as adults, but they do need baby crib mattresses that reduce the risk of harm from their baby furniture while they sleep. There are many reasons to buy a firm baby mattress, and the following tips can help you determine what to look for.

If you're on the hunt for some bedding to help alleviate a sore body, take a look below to learn how to choose a mattress for back pain.
There are basically three common types of mattresses used today: spring mattresses, memory foam mattresses, inflatable mattresses and feather beds. Each type has its own benefits.
