I am what I like to call "pleasantly plump," which really just means that I am very heavy. I was worried about buying a memory foam mattress because I was afraid that I would just sink down to the bottom of it and be sleeping on an inch of foam over my boxspring. I was also concerned that it would not be able to hold up as well as a traditional mattress. We had an old, but expensive, Sealy mattress, and it was killing my back and my knees. I had enough and decided to try this mattress in soft (even with my concerns, I did not want it too firm). What a difference!!!! I sleep better, and I don't have the back and knee pain that I used to have. Also, my concerns about the mattress not being strong enough to hold me was completely unfounded, as I have been sleeping on this thing for a month now, and I have never sunk down too far. I feel like I am sleeping on air. Also, as many have already said, it is soooo easy to get this up to your bedroom as it comes looking like a giant Tootsie Roll when you get it. I removed my old mattress, which was very difficult, and put this one on my bed, opened it, and removed the wrappings all by myself!!!. I am so happy that I got this mattress, and you will most likely be too if you decide to buy it.

  • Comparision to Temer-Pedic

Having owned a (King size )temper-pedic mattress, for over 11 years. I was very happily surprised as to the excellent quality and comfort of this specific product. I would highly recommend it, to anybody that is interested in a mattress that , in my opinion, is as good as a Temper-Pedic.

  • What a great buy!!!!

First off.. I am 29 years of age, 6'3 with an athletic build. I love this mattress (bought the medium firmness). I debated for about a month before I took the plunge and bought it. I tested a ton of these types of mattresses around town and didn't want to spend $2300 on one so decided to give Overstock a try. I read all the reviews and was very worried about clicking the confirm order button even though it got amazing reviews, but those few people who did not like it were sticking in the back of my mind. I have no clue what they were taking about... this mattress is very comfortable and you won't find anything cheaper. I also bought a memory foam topper just in case it was too firm, this mattress is comfortable enough to sleep on without it but I still use it anyway. I would suggest this mattress to anyone!!! Great buy!!!

  • Average Inexpensive Foam Mattress--very good value

First, I need to say that I am probably a tough reviewer. We are satisfied with this mattress, but I want to give a fair and accurate review, which is why I cannot give a 5 star raving review for this product. We have two homes and are used to a very high end foam mattress.($2000+) It was time to replace a mattress, and we thought we would give this a try. These reviews are very subjective in nature. I guess it all comes down to what someone is used to, and what their level of expectation is. I am unable to give this product one of the raving 5 star reviews that are common here. I wish there were a 10 star system...if there were I would give this a 7 star rating. My order processed smoothly. We chose the Medium firm queen size product. We also ordered the 10 year mattress warranty. The mattress arrived in just a few days. My wife, 5'2" and 110 lbs, carried it upstairs and unpacked it. This all went flawlessly. The mattress inflated quickly and our sheets/bedding easily fit the mattress. We had no issue with any odor from the mattress, even though we slept on it the first night. This product had excellent reviews and my expectations were high. This product, while good and completely acceptable, does not compare to our other mattress. For me, the biggest difference between this mattress and a great foam product is the foam density. Really, all of the foam used appears to be of lower quality than our high end mattress...but especially the memory foam. I am not being critical, but the foam is just plain not as good as our other mattress. After all, this mattress weighs about 40% of what the high end mattress weighs, so how could it be the same? That being said, this mattress did not cost nearly as much as the other mattress. Let me say that again...NOT NEARLY AS MUCH. So it may not be fair to make comparisons....but I cannot help but to bring my experience with me to this review. The mattress sleeps good....just not raving good. I would say that we are satisfied with the quality vs. value ratio. I certainly would buy another one for the spare bedroom, as this mattress is perfectly acceptable. If you have never had a great mattress....you may love this mattress. If you have had a great mattress, I would be surprised if you could give this a 5 star rating. I do expect this mattress to have a good life in terms of years of service.

    • How did the color on site compare with the actual product? Color was fine--Really, who cares about the color? It gets covered up anyway....right?
    • Please tell us about the quality of the product. This is an average to good quality foam mattress at a very good price.
    • How accurate was the on site description of the product? The description was accurate.

  • Very comfortable mattress

I bought this mattress to go in our guest bedroom. It arrived in a large "roll" which resembled a large rug rolled up and I thought maybe they delivered the wrong item. We looked at the paperwork and made sure it was the mattress before unwrapping. It was heavy and my husband and I got it upstairs without much difficulty but definitely was a two person job. As soon as you cut the plastic the mattress starts to expand. It was to it's full size within a couple of hours. I didn't notice any real strong odor when I opened it and I've had it for a couple of weeks now and there is no odor. We ordered the medium firmness and it is firm which I like. It's very supportive and I think works very well for a guest bed. You'll either need a box spring or a platform bed b/c it's just the top mattress which was pretty thick. If you don't like firm go with the soft version of this b/c medium is still very firm. Thought long and hard before I ordered this and I'm glad I did, it's a very good mattress.

This mattress is an excellent value. Very comfortable, attractive, fast and free shipping. Even if I could have found a mattress of equal quality at this price in a store, I would have had to wag it home (70lbs.) somehow or pay for delivery. This was delivered right to my doorstep in less than a week for FREE!

  • Awesome mattress, great price!

I was very skeptical about the quality of this mattress based on the price, but I went for it after reading the reviews. It arrives looking like a huge tootsie roll, which is very disconcerting too. But open it up and WOW!! It's a perfect mattress. Skeptics please don't worry. My daughter just LOVES this. We got the medium firmness and it is the perfect "softness" for her.

  • Good Mattress on the Cheap

This is my first memory foam mattress. We purchased the soft version. First, the smell - yes it has one. We aired it out for around 30 hours, but it still had an odor. Reminds me of sesame seed oil - it's not terrible, but not pleasant. A month later, it still has the odor, but very light and only when I remove sheets to wash them. I'm considering taking it all off again and letting it air more. My husband really can't believe this is the 'soft' version. It's way more firm than we both expected, although to me, is still better than our 'pillow top' mattress we had prior. It is warm - I'm currently pregnant, so not real sure if it's me or the mattress, but every night I see my husband has most all the covers off and the fan blowing at him! For the price, it's really good. I'd recommend it to someone looking for a good mattress for a spare room or something, but not for their primary bed. Next time, I'll check out a 'gel' memory foam mattress instead. Maybe we can find a gel topper for now.

  • Comfy!

Before purchasing this mattress I read a ton of reviews. I also went to a local mattress store where a salesperson attempted to sell me a mattress that feels very similar to this one for $2500! I am satisfied with my purchase and the price! I missed the sale price by a couple of hours but it was still worth it! I have never had a memory foam mattress before, but I am not sure that I would be able to return to anything else after this purchase. Through my research, I learned that I prefer firm beds. This is very important to do because prior to "shopping around" I thought I would prefer the soft memory foam beds. Hated them! If you shop around and determine which type of bed you like, it will all work out to purchase from here. It arrived quickly in what another user described as a very long duffle bag, except it was a cardboard duffle bag! I read the other reviews and followed the instructions to let it air out for 48 hours and form into the proper shape. I read that some individuals who only waited 24 hours or less had trouble with their mattress sinking in and I didn’t want that problem. There was a slight odor but after a couple of days it dissipated. Great purchase, great price, and very comfy! I would definitely recommend.

I am not sure I can answer the question fairly. One mattress is in a guest room in our house, the gel foam is in a vacation home, so it only used on the weekend. They both seem to be good quality. The gel foam seems to be cooler, but it is based on limited use. kevinerie on Jul 23, 2013

Hi sxiong914, the measurement for Queen: 10 inches high x 60 inches wide x 80 inches long. Due to machine-cutting manufacturing processes, there may be slight variances in the dimensions of this product. Thanks for your interest, hope this helps! overstockcustomercare1 on May 29, 2013

Measurements are exact however don't buy the bed unless your looking to replace it in two years because it will lose its firmness by then. heatherf1 on Jun 3, 2013

We purchased the mattress only. It fits our hollywood style bed perfectly. Can hardly wait for bedtime. Sweet Dreams! dauphinnana on Jun 4, 2013

I have this mattress and have no complaints, except about its advertised measurements .... Yes, it is 60" wide and 80" long. BUT. it is not 11" tall; rather, it is 10" tall (+/-). Which was not a fluke, because when I sent Overstock pictures with a measuring tape in place, they very nicely sent me another one .... which was also 10" tall, rather than 11". It would seem to me to be a good solution to simply change the dimension description, no matter what the manufacturer says. stageforsale on Jun 5, 2013

Answer This Question

It ships at 117 pounds not sure of exact dimensions but it ships rolled in cardboard and heavy duty plastic. Delivered as a cylinder shaped packaged. The packaging compresses it a bit so if I had to guess I would say the circumference was 12-15 inches inch diameter. The height was equivalent to the stated width of bed in description chanbrig on May 17, 2013

Our bed was a little thicker in its roll...say 20". Also, it's height is the same as it's finished width (as the bed is rolled top to bottom). ostockthis on Jun 20, 2013

Answer This Question

Thank you for your question neutron17. That is purely a personal choice, but my recommendation to you, given the facts that you presented is, a firm memory foam mattress may work best for you. If you have a chance, read the reviews other people have left, this will help in your decision too. Good luck and have a great day. overstockcustomercare1 on Apr 17, 2013

I am 209 pounds and the firm is TOO firm for me. I wish I had gotten the medium. I also have serious lower back (and neck) problems. I added a memory foam topper and am still not happy. I haven't seen a single positive review of the firm. Go with the medium. luluinny on Apr 19, 2013

i love my firm mattress. I wouldn't want anything softer. I'm five nine and a half and 180 pounds and couldn't be happy with my firm! sematson on Apr 27, 2013

we have lower back problems too - love the mattress ... hubby is 5'11" and around 200 lbs as well ... charliesbestfriend on May 11, 2013

I would go with the medium, one of my guests has back problems and said it was perfect for her. hjw1226 on May 14, 2013

Yeah definitely don't go any firmer than Medium. It's actually rather firm, a lot firmer than I thought, but you'll fall in love with this bed. I used to get back pains from my old bed, but Besides the first week (your body has to get used to the memory foam) I haven't had ANY back problems! rayne05us on May 15, 2013

I just received the firm and it is just that, it is a firm mattress. It gives a lot of support, I do not like a mattress that you sink into, this does not. I'm happy with the mattress. I'm nearly 200lbs and if I sit on the edge of the mattress, it sinks down approximately 1.5 - 2 inches. derick1 on Jun 6, 2013

I'm 5'11 140 and we have the MEDIUM option. I may have gone with the FIRM if I had it to do over again, but for two people with different needs, it's treating me just fine. ostockthis on Jun 20, 2013

I have a thick cotton mattress pad ontop of mine and do not know it is there. I would get a mattress protector/cover that zips the entire mattress (like a pillow case). If it gets wet or soiled, you will have little way to clean it. I would say you want to get the waterproof pad, the mattress is much the same as any other in shape, it is just made of foam. derick1 on Jun 6, 2013

Thank you for your inquiry. We were able to confirm with our support team between the two this would be the right choice. Under the firm option the larger version has a little more foam and would feel softer than this one. overstockcustomercare1 on Mar 26, 2013

Is this mattress temperature sensitive and non-temperature sensitive? Thanks... redz812 on Oct 2, 2012

Answer This Question

All memory foam is heat sensitive. However, the degree of the heat retention is determined by the airflow of the foam (how open the cells are). The standard memory foam is rated with a 10 airflow which is very restrictive and allows very little heat dissipation. However, the memory foam used in this mattress is rated at about 90 airflow which is very open and allows body heat to dissipate in a greater way than the standard. overstockcustomercare1 on Oct 3, 2012

I am 450 pounds and have had this mattress for two years now. It is very supportive and comfortable. It has not shown much sign of giving to my weight, however, at any advanced weight there are always going to be support issues. I would recommend this bed with a box spring, even though they say it doesn't need one. I've used it with a platform (very uncomfortable) and the wired platform (gone through two of those, comfortable but not reliable). Hope this helps. You should be fine.  on Mar 24, 2012

One side is soft, one side is firm. The directions say that when the tag is on the right side, at the head of the bed, it's soft. The problem is...from which direction are you looking? Is it the right if you're ON the bed? Or looking at the bed from the foot of the bed? I see a sticker that reads "soft" on the tag, and when it's facing up, that should be soft, but that side feels more firm. I'm really confused. lol kristies2 on Jan 23, 2012
