You will think you are sleeping on a cloud when you add this thick king-size memory foam mattress to your bed. This mattress has eleven inches of foam to comfort and support your body so that you sleep soundly and peacefully all night long....more
Well, we took the plunge after reading how happy everyone else was with this mattress. And here we are, not even a full six months later, in the market for yet another new bed. We had such high hopes! And it was heavenly at first, this bed. Like a cloud! But my husband, all 6' 4" and 275 lbs of him, crushed down the foam on his side in less than three months. So we spun it around and the 120 lbs me slept in the sunken spot, as we figured I was lighter and therefore wouldn't sink as much. Now, there is a sunken spot on both sides and the once beloved mattress is headed for the trash. If it had just been the 120 lbs me, the bed probably would have lasted forever. But if you weigh in excess of 200 lbs, DO NOT BUY THIS MATTRESS! Unless, that is, you only need to use it for three months... And I must say, in all fairness, that the first three months, before the crushed down foam lost its memory, that was the best bed I ever slept in...... The BEST! Alas, ours was but a brief encounter, and doomed from the start it seems... Still, before it got all forgetful, I loved that bed passionately...
Prior to this purchase, I had purchased an OVERSTOCK bulk pack of two 10" Queen sized mattresses for the guest rooms in our new weekend home. We also needed a bed for ourselves so we decided to try these before we purchased a King sized. We liked it! The MEMORY FOAM is very different from what we are used to (a number bed) - much harder but, still very comfortable. And it was not at all hot - a real concern for this 50+ woman. LOL. After the first weekend, we were hooked. I came back to OVERSTOCK to search for the King and found this SELECT-A-FIRMNESS. I ordered the MEDIUM and I have to say that it is worth the extra money - (about $70.00 if you are an Club O member.) There IS A NOTICEABLE difference in the firmness and both of us are glad I paid for the option.
It was packed "tootsie roll style" - like the queens but, in a plastic sock instead of the canvas. It plumped up quickly- we slept on it the first night and, we didn't notice any smell at all, (and I know the smell others write about because I've ordered memory foam pads - they smelled for weeks - and were hot.)
I recommend HIGHLY this mattress. (And my friend who purchased the name brand thinks that this one is just as comfortable as hers.) If you are at all concerned about the firmness, try the SOFT but, keep in mind that the closer the mattress molds to your body - the warmer the mattress will feel. Thank you OVERSTOCK. This mattress is a great value!
I tried the Comfort Dreams mattress in hopes of bypassing the higher cost of a Tempurpedic model. At first the mattress worked well. It did not have the same quality of overall comfort the Tempurpedic models had, but for a fraction of the price I was OK with that. Many of the reviews I read were very similar.
The problem showed up a few months into ownership. I did not realize how many of the reviews were written in the first few weeks of receiving the mattress. The foam does not hold up very long without starting to collapse, or cave in, or whatever else you wish to call it.
I tried turning it around (head to foot) which did not work either.
Just for the record, the mattress never got wet or had any issues with being mistreated.
Luckily I found a great deal on a nearly new Tempurpedic; I purchased it and have had none of the issues listed above. The Comfort Dreams mattress is now in our guest bedroom because we cannot sleep on it with any comfort.
Did the color match the color displayed onsite? Yes
How is the quality of the product? Does not last.
Did the description onsite accurately describe the product? Yes, for a couple of months
We purchased this mattress 3 years ago. Both my husband and I are average weight. our mattress now sag's where we slept during the night and we both wake up with neck and back problems. It has no longevity. I would not recommend wasting your money on this mattress un less you want to replace it in a few years.
How did the color on site compare with the actual product? fine
Please tell us about the quality of the product. liked it but its sags really bad after sleeping on it for three years. not worth the price if it has to be replaced already
How accurate was the on site description of the product? it was accurate.
I'm actually in the mattress industry. Definately needed a memory foam mattress. At this price, for a king size, it was a no brainer. Down side is, ther's no warranty, but for $****, i'm fine with it. I weigh about 225 so I opted for the soft. I actually find it comparable to the Tempur-Pedic cloud but thicker. The smell isn't a plus either but i know it goes away after a couple of days. Great feel. Great price! if you're heavier than 260, get a medium, more than 300 get the firm. Looking forward to buying more of these for my family if need be. Memory foam isn't for everyone but if you need better pressure relief, this is the way to go. Just remember this, the bed should conform to you. Not the other way around
This is my third memory foam mattress .going size up .i have a back problem and this is the only mattress I can use.we just moved 6 months ago and our friend give us a king size bed.very nice and expensive, but anytime husband turned,I was jump ,couldn't sleep..2 days ago arrived my new memory foam mattress and I'm a happiest person in the planet!!!! Love it!i always order this brand because this one has different firmness.another was medium, but went to firm, because my husband is 6.2" and 220 pound.i read review about this product and that is not thru 3-6 month later going soft I have mine 4 years and a same condition.
I was reading these reviews just like you. Pouring over the reviews, the positive and negative; Weighing them on a scale of pros and cons. I spent many hours of my time doing just what you are doing now. Just STOP! Honestly, save yourself the wasted hours and just purchase the mattress. It is fantastic. It arrived in one day. Literally- the next day from when I ordered it. It was rolled up like a tootsie roll with a disheveled box around it, but it was in good shape inside the thick plastic package. It is heavy- took 2 people to drag it in the house and up the stairs. We bought a King Size- Soft. It is softer than I imagined it would be, even coming from a pillow top mattress. But, I like it. If you are over 175lbs, I would probably recommend a Medium. My back pain is literally nearly gone after two nights on this. Amazing. Cons- the thing still smells. After two days of having it open (we slept on it both nights so it is not un-sleepable due to the smell) but we had the windows open both days with a fan to air it out. No other complaints. Just buy it. I will update my review in a few months to let you know how it's going! I'm in heaven right now.
This is our second Comfort Dreams memory foam mattress. The first one we got was medium in firmness. While it was fine for me, my husband preferred something a little firmer. So then we ordered the firm one. We both love the mattress and my back doesn't hurt at all. I had ordered a cheaper brand memory foam mattress for my daughter's room and it's killing my back when I sleep in there with her. I just had to order a Comfort Dreams one for her as well to match the one we have. It's very comfortable!
I see the mattress comes with a 5 year warranty. What is not covered?jenimari on May 15, 2014Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
Hi jenimari, after reviewing with our support staff we found that the 5 year warranty does not cover normal wear which includes the additional increase of foam softness or a decrease of the foam recovery. The warranty does cover deteriorating foam with a visible indentation of one and one-half(1.5) inch. The warranty will not cover mattresses that are used on inappropriate foundations, box springs, or adjustable beds that are creating a sag in the surface. All warranties will not apply if the mattress, foundation, or cover has been physically abused, damaged, burned, stained, cut, or torn. I hope this helps, thanks for shopping with us.overstockcustomercare1 on Jun 9, 2014
Do you have information from the manufacturer on the chemical content of this mattress? I just bought one and it seems fine (odorless) but I have been reading up on chemicals in foam mattresses and have some concerns.swimmy44 on Nov 24, 2013Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
The manufacture states that they do not release the specific info about the make up of our foam, but they pass all of the Cal 117 and US Laws regarding manufacturing of foam. I hope you find this information helpful.overstockcustomercare1 on Nov 27, 2013
can this matress be cut to fit an odd size platform? does the cover come off, so I can cut like 4 inches off the width? then replace the cover? Knowing of course the cover will be a bit sloppyjeddar on Sep 4, 2013Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
Hello jeddar, We don't recommend cutting the mattress, it would void the warranty. Thank you for shopping with us. overstockcustomercare1 on Sep 4, 2013
I would say don't do this - my platform is odd size and my old mattress overlapped about an inch on each side and it was just fine. These foam mattresses are not easy to cut without the proper equipment unless you are talking a very thin foam like 4 inches. Plus if there is a mattress cover already sewn on it would be a very big production.swimmy44 on Nov 24, 2013
Hello laurie4861, Due to the nature of Memory Foam the firmness level of every item is unique. Please be advised that even similar products may produce different firmness results. I just bought the 11" Comfort Dream and it is very firm but not board hard - which is what I wanted. The foam top sinks in a bit, much less than my 8-10 year old one which was just described as "memory foam" no specific firmness.swimmy44 on Nov 24, 2013
I bought the 10" size and it was comfortable, but I also got a fluffy mattress cover. I sleep great.dwest013 on Jun 5, 2014
Hello jle127! The firm has the following: 2-inch layer of 4-pound memory foam, 2-inch layer of 3.0-pound memory foam, 7-inch layer of 1.5-pound urethane foam. Thanks for shopping with us.overstockcustomercare1 on Apr 18, 2013
I don't know, but it's heavy! Good mattress, but our UPS delivery man hates us!insomniac46 on Jul 9, 2013
Is there a warranty against sagging? For instance with some other memory foam mattresses if it dips more than 3/4 inch there is a warranty against that.leahandnic on Sep 26, 2012Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
