We only sleep on foam now, and this is as good as any mattress we have bought, and a better bargain. We aired it out for a day with windows open, before using.Read More
Buy a firmer one, the soft is too soft and is not holding up well.Read More
The mattress showed up at my door no problem. Thanks to the emails I knew the delivery date. I travel and my wife cant lift it so we left the garage door open that day. We have a great UPS driver....he put it in the garage for us. We have a water bed and decided to replace the water bed mattress with a conventional mattress. I bought the Comfort Dreams Select-A-Firmness 11-inch California King-size Memory Foam Mattress from overstock.com. excellent choice!!! The mattress fit perfectly in the water bed wood frame and as an added plus we love the comfort. Another add bonus was our water bed sheets fit the mattress as well so we did not have to go out and buy new sheets. I definitely would and have recommend these mattress to friends.Read More
Wonderfully comfortable, great price. We let it air out for a couple of days just in case the smell bothered my husband. I could have slept on it right away.Read More
Purchased one of these mattresses previously and liked it so much we had to have one for our other residence. Previously had regular mattress and it was worn and uncomfortable. This one is comfortable and we are both sleeping better. Had no trouble unwrapping and putting on the bed. Did not smell any odor and was able to sleep on it the second night after we received (probably could have the first night but decided to follow instructions.Read More
My husband swears he sleeps better, deeper and longer with this mattress! I think it is 100% better that that old pillow-top we were using. We got the medium firmness (even though my hubby wanted the firm) since I am hoping that as it "softens" over time the medium will go to soft and still be comfortable. BTW...have had this mattress about a year now with no evidence of any loss of firmness.Read More
The last bed we had only had a 2 inch memory foam topper on it which was great in its own. I decided to upgrade to this memory foam mattress and I'm so glad I did! The first couple of nights my husband and I slept on it, i was woken up numerous times with hugs and kisses and his voice thanking me for purchasing such an awesome mattress. And it looks as great as it feels. The cat, who usually jumps out of bed after lying in it for about ten minutes, spent about two hours 'sawing logs' in a deep sleep on this mattress. I would recommend (and have recommended it) to everyone... cats included.Read More
I have found the above mattress to be a good product. I was a little apprehensive at first because coming from a worn out spring mattress to this was an adjustment for me and I did not get the type of sound sleep I expected. But after about 3-4 days, I had some of the best sleeps of my life since I stopped using my tubular waterbed 3 years ago. I think it takes a few days for your body and the foam to get acclimated to each after which the memory form gets accoustomed to your body weight. By that I mean it gets compressed in the same way and accomodates your weight and form. I bought the firm mattress because I like that type of matress and I'm a big guy (6ft 250 lbs). Also because mattress that is too soft gives me back pains. In the first 3-4 nights I did not get the total restfull sleep I'd anticipated but every night since then it has been sleeping bliss. I'd recommend this product to anyone whose in the same category as I described above. On a final note I was a bit disappointed by the Cal King Memory Foam Pillows that I also purchased. I had been shopping for this product for over 6 months during which I'd seen, tried out, and evaluated the designs of both the mattress and pillow. The other pillows I had seen/tried were either made of a composite of memory foam and some other denser foam in the core or had a sculptured shape that had a thickere portion at the widest side os the pillow to support your neck. These pillows were just a piece of memory foam cut into the shape of a standard shaped pillow (with the proper length for a king bed) that is thickest in the middle and tapers to a slimmer thickness at the edges. It wasn't very thick in the middle so when any weight was put on it, it compressed to thin profile that barely supported your head with any elevation. Though it sort of works for me since I prefer a flatter pillow, but I believe it might be an issue for other people as its barley supporting my head in the fashion I would have suspected, based on the other pillows I tried. Of course once you open the package you cannot return the item, so I'm stuck with it, but I would have wanted to exchange it for a different type of pillow if I knew ahead of time that was the type I'd get. So I'll just have to chalk it up to dealing with the prevailing policies when you purchase through the internet.Read More
When the delivery guy came with this mattress, he thought it was a rug because of the way it was packaged--all rolled up tightly. It expanded to about 10 inches immediately after cutting through the tape. It also has an unexpected bamboo (anti-microbial) covering. First night was a little different from our spring coil, but since then, it has been great. I rarely wake up, or move, for that matter! It is firmer than I expected--I ordered a medium--I wish I ordered soft, but I was worried about it being too soft. I thought about ordering a mattress topper since this was so cheap, but the firmness really hasn't been an issue since I've been sleeping all night--same with husband who is 6'4" and 230 lb.:) Great buy!Read More
I was contemplating getting the Contour Signature Memory Foam by TempurPedic, yet it was really expensive. I went to Overstock to see what they had in terms of memory foam beds. I saw that this mattress had great reviews and thought I would give it a try. I went online and found a coupon for 10% off the Overstock website and got this mattress for much less including shipping for a Cal-King firm mattress. I unwrapped it when it arrived and it did not really smell like everyone said. I set it outside for about 6 hours and then set it up. It was immediately impressed. This bed is really comfortable and the firm is perfect for my husband and myself. We are runners and in our 40's so having a firm mattress is really important to support our back and core. We slept like babies! This mattress is very comparable to the TempurPedic signature or TempurPedic Contour Select for so much less. I highly recommend this mattress!Read More

Best Pillow-top Mattresses for Back Pain
The key to a good night's sleep when you have chronic back pain is as simple as choosing a good pillow-top mattress. Choosing the best mattress involves knowledge of your personal needs and preferences. To get a comfortable night's sleep, start by choosing a pillow-top mattress made from the right materials for you. Next, choose your preferred thickness. Finally, have firm sleep support underneath the cushions of the pillow-top. Below, you'll learn the best pillow-top mattresses for back pain. Choose the materials: Pillow-top mattresses are made from a variety of materials, so choosing the one that is right for you can make all the difference in the world. People with muscle pain should consider down pillow-top mattresses, which provide a cocoon to sleep in. Those with back issues will generally prefer memory foam pillow-top mattresses, which conform to the body and offer consistent support to areas like the lower back. However, it is important to check the manufacturer's information regarding the recommended weight allowances for these types of pillow-tops. Consumers who are heavier than the recommendations may find that the pillow-top cushion compresses in uncomfortable ways, leaving the mattress lumpy. Determine the thickness: Pillow-top mattresses come in a variety of thicknesses, from just 2 inches to 8 or more inches deep. Like choosing the right materials for your pillow-top, choosing the right depth is vital to getting a good night's sleep. Thinner pillow-top mattresses will allow more of the support from the remainder of the mattress to come through and will not develop body indentations as pronounced as those in a deep pillow-top. Pillow-top mattresses that are too soft may fail to provide back support and cause an increase in back pain. However, deep pillow-top mattresses are excellent for customers who suffer from fibromyalgia or other chronic pain. Check the warranty: Just as you would with any other purchases of its size, check the warranty of your pillow-top mattress. Most manufacturers will provide limited, pro-rated replacement warranties for manufacturer's defects, and some will provide a "comfort guarantee." Others may have specific conditions that must be met in order to maintain the warranty, such as having a boxed spring by the same manufacturer. Take note of any special conditions for the warranty and keep the paperwork. View All Mattresses Back to Guides Directory View All Mattresses
Facts about Memory Foam Infused with Latex
While there are many mattress toppers that claim to provide comfort, latex memory foam provides a firm, durable, breathable material that relieves pain and draws you into deep, restful sleep. Check out the facts: There are five reasons memory foam with latex is a good option for you.
Air Mattresses vs Memory Foam Mattresses
With so many different types of mattresses available, it can be difficult for buyers to decide which one will best suit their needs. Two of the most popular mattress construction technologies are air-filled cores and memory foam. When comparing these two products, consider price, comfort and durability before making a final selection.
Best Mattresses for Every Sleeping Position
A mattress is one of the most important purchases you can make because you spend hours each day sleeping and rejuvenating for the next day. While shopping for a new mattress, keep in mind the typical sleeping positions you have to ensure you will find the right mattress to help with bone or joint alignment. Below, you'll learn the best mattresses for every sleeping position. Sleeping on your back: If you primarily sleep on your back, you need to find a mattress with support to prevent pain in the lower back. Sleeping on a mattress that does not have enough support causes muscle strain in the back and increases the chance you will assume a poor posture during sleep, leaving you achy in the morning. The best mattresses for this sleeping position have at least 400 to 800 14-gauge coils. Innerspring mattresses feature firm coils to support the back yet still mold to the curvature of the spine. Mattresses with box springs are ideal for those who sleep on their backs because they stabilize weight, offering back support and increasing the life of the bedding. Sleeping on your stomach: While sleeping on your stomach is comfortable, it also increases pressure and strain on parts of the body like the neck or back. Soft mattresses are the best for those who sleep on their stomachs. Look for mattresses that have 300 to 400 14-gauge coils, which will ensure the mattress is soft and comfortable. If you must use a pillow, look into buying a memory foam style, which molds to the head and neck to stabilize them during sleep. Sleeping on your side: Side sleeping is one of the most common positions on a mattress, and it may also be one of the hardest positions to shop for. Since you lay on your side, there is pressure on the shoulders and hips, which could make a firm mattress uncomfortable for sleeping. A mattress that is too soft is often not supportive enough to keep the spine in proper alignment. The ideal mattress for this position is one that has supportive coils, with a memory foam topper to provide comfort to the joints of the body. Best Reasons to Buy Firm Baby Crib Mattresses
When you're shopping for baby crib mattresses, safety should always come first. A soft mattress may make sleeping more comfortable for you, but the same could be hazardous, even deadly, for your infant. Baby crib mattresses should be firm -- as firm as possible -- to keep your little one safe during the night or daytime naps. You may be tempted towards the soft baby crib mattresses for your child, thinking that he'll be more comfortable. Babies, however, don't need the same joint support as adults, but they do need baby crib mattresses that reduce the risk of harm from their baby furniture while they sleep. There are many reasons to buy a firm baby mattress, and the following tips can help you determine what to look for.

The height of the padding varies, but generally, manufacturers make pillow-top mattresses in depths varying from 7 to 22 inches. Specially made deep-pocket sheets for pillow-top mattresses are available; however, it is important to know the depth of your mattress before purchasing sheets. How to Clean Memory Foam Mattresses
A soft and comfortable memory foam mattress is a treat to sleep on -- until a drink is spilled on it or a pet has an accident on it. While it may seem impossible to clean, you don't have to be intimidated. Memory foam mattresses are actually easy to clean, and you'll have positive results if you follow the instructions. All you need are a few household products and some time for cleaning it thoroughly.
How to Choose a Mattress for Back Pain
There's not a single mattress type that's best for back pain. While studies suggest that a medium-firm mattress is most likely to soothe a sore spine, your mileage may vary: one person's back problem can respond well to a memory foam mattress, while another person might feel best on a model with inner springs. If you're on the hunt for some bedding to help alleviate a sore body, take a look below to learn how to choose a mattress for back pain.
There are basically three common types of mattresses used today: spring mattresses, memory foam mattresses, inflatable mattresses and feather beds. Each type has its own benefits. A mattress pad is a less expensive way to add comfort to your bed than purchasing a whole new mattress. With that said, if your mattress is lumpy or saggy, a mattress topper probably won't make much difference. If it is good, though, you have many different choices in material, price, and comfort. Whatever you get, just make sure you purchase the right size for your bed frame. Take a look below to learn more about the best-selling mattresses on the market.
How to Select a Mattress Set
If you're shopping for a new mattress, then you're about to make an important decision. You spend anywhere from six to nine hours each night in your bed, and your mattress can affect the quality of your sleep and overall well-being. Follow these instructions to pick the right mattress set for a perfect night's sleep.
How to Select a Box Spring
Many people underestimate the importance of a good box spring, but as the foundation of the bed, it can be just as vital to the comfort of your mattress set as the mattress. Before purchasing a box spring, it's necessary to think about size, quality and value, as well as comfort. The right box spring can make or break a mattress purchase, so shop wisely and take the time to select the box spring that's right for your bed. To select a box spring, good research and patient shopping are the keys to success.
How to Choose a Memory Foam Mattress Topper
Memory foam, also called "temper foam," was first developed by NASA in the mid-1960s to ensure passenger comfort and protection in airplane seats. Memory foam mattress toppers mold to the body, and then slowly spring back to their original shape. This makes them ideal for those with back or joint pain. However, not all memory foam mattress toppers are the same. Here's how to choose one that will best suit your needs.
Gel Memory Foam Buying Guide
Are you having trouble sleeping? Gel memory foam could be the solution. It's similar to traditional memory foam, but the gel adds benefits that many people find to be the secret to comfortable, restful sleep. Because it's a new product, you may not be sure what to look for when you're shopping. This information will help you find the gel memory foam mattress topper, pillow, or mattress that could help you get a better night's sleep -- every night.
How to Clean a Memory Foam Mattress Topper
When you're deep cleaning your home, you may want to pay special attention to your bed. A memory foam mattress topper can completely transform even the most uncomfortable mattress, but accidents do happen, and an accumulation of dust in even the most comfortable bed can prevent a good night's sleep. If it's time to freshen up your mattress topper, you may be wondering how it's done. Memory foam absorbs water while it is being washed; however, it is possible to wash it efficiently.
