I bought this mattress for my son's dorm room, particularly interested in it because he sometimes tells me he has lower back pain. He loves this mattress, even telling me he sleeps better there than at home because of the comfort of this mattress. I am relieved knowing he will be sleeping well at college! His roomate also bought a foam mattress, but wishes he had my son's because it is more comfortable and thicker, for the same approximate price.
I was furnishing the guest room in our Palm Springs, CA, house. In planning the room, I decided that extra-long twin beds were the most versatile. Two pushed together are the same size as a king, so they offer two sleepers the most room. Since it was entirely possible that my guests could two single people sharing a room, the XL-twins made a lot more sense than a shared king-size bed. It is, however, harder to find frames/supports and a bedskirt for this usual sized bed. Also, there are far less options for sheets. I was able to find good-quality, high-threadcount sheets, since I wanted white (if you want a color, you could be out of luck), but blankets, duvets, and comforters/coverlets were non-existent. However, since the XL-twin is only about 6 inches longer, I was able to use a regular twin-size duvet and coverlet, so didn't have an issue. I was apprehensive about buying a memory foam mattress online, without being able to test it out. I was also apprehensive about the low price, since our own king-size Temperpedic mattress was quite expensive. When they arrived, I was sure I'd made a mistake because they were rolled up in heavy black plastic, they seemed very light, and the package seemed too small to contain a 12-inch mattress. (Our king-size Temperpedic weighs a ton; it takes four people to lift it.) The info that came with the shipment said that once out of the plastic, they couldn't be returned. Not knowing how I'd check them out if I couldn't open them, I was tempted to return them unopened. However, I took a leap of faith and opened and unrolled them. Once out of the vacum-pack, they puffed up, though they were still quite light. Bottom line, they are very comfortable. They feel different than our king-size Temperpedic, but I believe that's a function of the mattress size, twin versus king. The twin size makes bed-making a breeze. And we've had our first wave of guests, so were able to get the opinion of someone who slept on them for several nights. My daughter is very vocal, and can be counted on to give honest feedback. She and her husband reported being very comfortable, and felt that the mattresses rival a much more expensive model. Once again, we're very happy with our Overstock purchase.
Bed is just right firmness for me one I had was craft mattic and was too soft and much more expensive
