I ordered a twin XL, but both the width and length are several inches shorter than what is stated. Customer Service willingly sent me a new one after I sent them pictures with the tape measure documenting the size, but then they sent a regular twin rather than the XL I ordered. Very frustrating.Read More
I bought this mattress for my adult son, whose $800 innerspring mattress looked like a nasty hammock after about 5 years. He says that this is a nice mattress and that he sleeps well on it. He is an athlete and needs firm support, without it being a rock. We compared foam densities when shopping, and determined that this mattress has the best density for him, without breaking the bank. The memory foam layer is the right density and thickness, that you don't sink down in it too far, and get too hot. The cover over the mattress is high quality fabric and breathes. With sheets and a mattress pad on it, I don't notice any significant odor. The mattress was shipped compressed and rolled up. Once unrolled, I have *no idea* how you would ship it back so you better be sure lol.Read More
This mattress is so comfortable! We bought this for my husband's 96 year old grandmother who came to stay with us. She said she slept better than ever. Now Im ordering a second one for my kids. There is a strong smell for the first couple days, but it fades away. Overstock shipped it in no time at all as usual.Read More

We needed a way to convert a California King waterbed mattress to a Normal King Mattress. Two of these Twin XL placed side by side is an Exact Normal King. When we ordered, we didn't get any shipping confirmation for 3 days, which was unsettling, but then a shipping confirmation came from Ontario, California, so we knew we were OK. The mattresses arrive in round cardboard packages that look like a big heavy sleeping bag, They are easy to open, then expand in several hours to their full size. We have been sleeping on them for a month now, and they are wonderful. Buy this mattress -- you will not be disappointed. To me, they feel like a brand new hotel mattress, very comfortable, nice and firm. When you sleep in one spot for an hour, they kind of indent, it feels really nice, then they spring back quickly when you move. We live in Salt Lake City, and mattress stores charge about 4 times as much for their mattresses that are roughly similar to these. Overstock takes PayPal - so that is really good for us - (PayPal buyer protection) I am an experienced mail order and ebay seller/buyer, so listen to me, I'm not full of crap. Close your eyes and just buy this mattress, period.Read More
We needed a king-sized solution in a house built before beds were that big! Getting mattresses and box springs up the switchback stairs is next to impossible, so we went with a custom-built king-sized captain's bed and a pair of long twin memory foam mattresses. They do have a kind of unpleasant smell when you unpack them but it dissipated for the most part rather quickly (see below) The arrived in a manageable compressed state and expanded just as stated. We covered them with the "king maker" pillowtop (see my other reviews) to make sure we wouldn't feel the gap, but these do not have the "piping" around the edge like a standard mattress and they do not shift around on the wooden box bed at all, so we probably could have done without that, and in fact the mattresses are a snug fit on the bed so there's a slight rise where the "king maker"'s wedge doesn't quite fit between them. These are good mattresses if you like a firm surface. Movement does not transfer to the other occupant as with a standard mattress so they are probably good for restless/light sleepers. Only con is if you end up face down without a pillow there is still (a few months later) a slight remnant of that odor remains, I'm not sure if it's from the king maker or the mattress. We will not be using the bed for a few weeks coming up, so I think we'll try airing all the pieces again with no covers to see if that helps. All-in-all, a good bargain, a good night's sleep.Read More

can this be used on an adjustable platform?
Hello hhogroup, this item could be used on an adjustable platform bed as well. Thanks for shopping with us! -Amanda P
"hhogroup1" I asked a very similar question. I was told by the representative that it does fit an old hospital bed. So if you have a modern adjustable bed, I am sure it will fit yours. The measurements on my bed are 80" length and 37" width. I asked would it sag after using the head raised part and was told, "no it would not because it is an 8" thickness. So I hope I helped you out. John S

Best Pillow-top Mattresses for Back Pain
The key to a good night's sleep when you have chronic back pain is as simple as choosing a good pillow-top mattress. Choosing the best mattress involves knowledge of your personal needs and preferences. To get a comfortable night's sleep, start by choosing a pillow-top mattress made from the right materials for you. Next, choose your preferred thickness. Finally, have firm sleep support underneath the cushions of the pillow-top. Below, you'll learn the best pillow-top mattresses for back pain. Choose the materials: Pillow-top mattresses are made from a variety of materials, so choosing the one that is right for you can make all the difference in the world. People with muscle pain should consider down pillow-top mattresses, which provide a cocoon to sleep in. Those with back issues will generally prefer memory foam pillow-top mattresses, which conform to the body and offer consistent support to areas like the lower back. However, it is important to check the manufacturer's information regarding the recommended weight allowances for these types of pillow-tops. Consumers who are heavier than the recommendations may find that the pillow-top cushion compresses in uncomfortable ways, leaving the mattress lumpy. Determine the thickness: Pillow-top mattresses come in a variety of thicknesses, from just 2 inches to 8 or more inches deep. Like choosing the right materials for your pillow-top, choosing the right depth is vital to getting a good night's sleep. Thinner pillow-top mattresses will allow more of the support from the remainder of the mattress to come through and will not develop body indentations as pronounced as those in a deep pillow-top. Pillow-top mattresses that are too soft may fail to provide back support and cause an increase in back pain. However, deep pillow-top mattresses are excellent for customers who suffer from fibromyalgia or other chronic pain. Check the warranty: Just as you would with any other purchases of its size, check the warranty of your pillow-top mattress. Most manufacturers will provide limited, pro-rated replacement warranties for manufacturer's defects, and some will provide a "comfort guarantee." Others may have specific conditions that must be met in order to maintain the warranty, such as having a boxed spring by the same manufacturer. Take note of any special conditions for the warranty and keep the paperwork. View All Mattresses Back to Guides Directory View All Mattresses

How to Clean Memory Foam Mattresses
A soft and comfortable memory foam mattress is a treat to sleep on -- until a drink is spilled on it or a pet has an accident on it. While it may seem impossible to clean, you don't have to be intimidated. Memory foam mattresses are actually easy to clean, and you'll have positive results if you follow the instructions. All you need are a few household products and some time for cleaning it thoroughly.
There are basically three common types of mattresses used today: spring mattresses, memory foam mattresses, inflatable mattresses and feather beds. Each type has its own benefits. A mattress pad is a less expensive way to add comfort to your bed than purchasing a whole new mattress. With that said, if your mattress is lumpy or saggy, a mattress topper probably won't make much difference. If it is good, though, you have many different choices in material, price, and comfort. Whatever you get, just make sure you purchase the right size for your bed frame. Take a look below to learn more about the best-selling mattresses on the market.
Best Reasons to Have a California King Bed
Similar in size to a standard king bed, a California king bed is four inches longer, allowing a lot of extra room top to bottom. A California king bed measures 72 inches wide and 84 inches long, and a standard king mattress measures 76 inches wide and 80 inches long, so while a California king mattress is four inches longer, it is also about four inches thinner than a standard king bed. Making a decision between the two might be difficult. Ultimately, both are great options, but there are a few conditions that might make a California king size bed the clear choice. Before you pick which king mattress is right for you, here are a few of the best reasons to choose a California king bed.
