The customer service at Overstock was very good. When a couple pieces in the set came damaged (from transportation service), they immediately sent a new one. However, I was disappointed that the actual color was not as dark as shown in the pictures. I was really surprised because some of the reviews mentioned that it was darker than the picture. I've bought several pieces of furniture online over the past 4-5 years and have not had this issue before. Also, the drawers were made of MDF (except front). The description does not mention this. I was disappointed in their construction. The dresser box (bottom, top, sides, and front) is solid wood and of nice quality. Visually, it's a very nice piece! We also got two of the matching night stands. Same comments go for those as well.

I like to see plywood/solid wood for drawers. To me, it's the difference between a $250 dresser at Ikea and a $800-$1000 dresser.
• How accurate was the on site description of the product? Again, it does not mention anywhere that MDF is used. All of drawer expect for front is MDF. Not the quality I expected here.

I purchased this dresser because I was willing to pay the extra money to have one that looks like this .. if that makes sense. I shopped around for a while and was stuck between this one and one that was a couple hundred less that was simpler in style and did't have a lick of solid wood in it. Would I recommend this to someone who's just looking for a simple black dresser? No. This thing was a pain to put together. It was easy to understand and was nothing a 23-year-old couldn't do, but they haven't gotten the simplicity down that a certain other store has down pat. A lot of steps and pieces, and I kept having to switch between 2 different phillips and a regular screwdriver for all the different sized heads. Also a couple areas didn't fit as right as I'd like them to. I'll save you some time right now though, every time you have to use the "3", "4", and "5" screws (silver and black chipboard screws), pre-drill your holes. Even the ones that are pre-drilled, they only go halfway or even less then they should. I used a 7/64 bit and the silver ones were nice and snug, probably could have switched down to a 3/32 bit for the black ones but those were last and I didn't feel like it because they were snug enough anyway. Some of these pieces are very heavy too, I almost waited to get some help but didn't (so it is possible for one smaller person to do it). I would recommend having help to lift a few of these. As for Overstock's service, they were great. received the dresser very quickly but the front frame was cracked in 2 places. I called them and they sent a new frame in 2 days of me calling. The 2nd piece I looked over and seemed fine, but it wasn't until I put the entire dresser together and was about to place that piece on I saw it was cracked. The way is was cracked you couldn't tell from the front so it was possible for me to glue it, but I didn't think I should have to for a brand new dresser. I called up Overstock again and they of course offered to send another new piece right away but I had the dilemma that this was SO close to being finished. I offered that instead of them sending a new piece again, if I could receive some sort of compensation .. if not I'd be happy to wait for another piece. Luckily they were able to work it out so I'd be happy with the condition of the dresser and I was able to move on and get it finished! What made the whole thing worth it was lookin' at the finished product. Way more gratification then my simpler MALM dresser I put together in a couple hours.

1) The Box and styrofoam packing is huge. Make sure you have a recycle dumpster arround to dispose it. We had to pay $25 to local recycling company to pick it up. 2) Assembly is not easy. It will need 2 people to assemble this. Its super heavy 3) Looks decent . Has beautiful legs. 4) Has a design flaw. The diagram shows where to screw the rolling drawer metal hinges. if you follow it, the particle board is going to split for all drawers. screwing it horizontally is more appropriate. Another design flaw is that if teh drawers are heavily placed, and if it droops a bit down, then it will not fit into the dresser front nicely . 5) The most delicate piece is the front. Mine arrived cracked at 2 places. This is not a manufacturing flaw but a transport carrier flaw. In my case it is not visible since the drawers come over it. 6) Rubber mallet is a must. So is a power driver and an allen wench. 7) Plan to spend atleast 3 to 4 hours to assembel this. 8) All parts are well packed and none were missing. 9) If you are in earthquake area, do not forget to harness this with earthquake straps to the wall studs. This thing is super heavy. It is definately a recomended buy if you have experience assembling simple furniture kits before. If not stay away..!

This dresser is stunning. However, it's sort of difficult to put together. Some of the holes aren't big enough for the screws and there are just SO MANY pieces. We ended up borrowing a power screw driver from the maintenance people in my apartment building. If we didn't have that I dont think we would have been able to put this together. Come to think of it, if I didn't have my boyfriend I dont think I would have been able to put this together. Also, you're going to need an allen wrench (hex wrench) for assembly. A rubber mallet might also make assembly a little easier as well (I used a regular hammer). It really is a beautiful piece of furniture but you're going to need a lot of patience and humor to put this together. Also, it's pretty massive. Make sure you take the height measurement into account when purchasing.

This is a beautiful dresser. The quality of the product is fairly good. We purchased the matching nightstands earlier and knew what to expect. This finish is gorgeous and matches the nightstands perfectly. The color is as dark brown as you can get without going black. Our dresser arrived in three business days without any damage. Assembly was not too complicated just time consuming. It arrives in four huge boxes and required some space to lay everything out and organize. We put it together in the living room but had to turn it up on its side to make the turn from the hallway to the bedroom. This maneuver required some muscles. It’s very heavy once it’s all put together….something to think about if you have a small hallway.

I couldn't be happier with this piece of furniture. I compared prices before I ordered it. You cannot beat Costco price. I knew that I had to put it together so I enlisted the help of a friend. It took us 4 hours, but it was worthy.

I couldn't be happier with my new dresser. It was very easy to put together as I was able to assemble it all by myself. I am a petite female and had no problem at all. It is a beautiful piece of furniture and I just ordered the matching nightstand.

The dresser is very nice and sturdy and it looks more expensive than it is. It is very big, which we liked. It did take my husband a long time to assemble. While we do love the outside, the drawers construction is a bit flimsy - made of plastic or something similar. However, the dresser wouldnt be so reasonably priced and if drawers were anything but plastic. All in all we are pleased with the dresser.

The dresser is lovely and the storage is great. However, several pieces were scratched upon arrival. The labor required to assemble the dresser was significant and took several days. I was not prepared for that. The instructions were not always clear and it took four adults to put this piece together. I wish those details had been clear and obvious on the site while I was shopping. I thought little to no assembly would be required. As far as the scratches are concerned, I would hope to receive some reimbursement. I would not have paid over six hundred dollars for a piece with scratches all over it.

First of all OVerstock's service was over and above when all was said and done. When puttng together drawer boxes, which are MDF, they are not predrileld therefore EVERY side, back and front crack when installing the rails. I even pre-drilled once I discovered this and they still did it! I am very handy with this type of stuff and even by changing the screw sizes it still occured. Also had rcvd one entire box damaged and when they sent out replacment box, it too was damaged. Was promised overnite 3rd replacement but they dropped the ball and never sent at all. They also needed to send out replacements of ALL drawer box sides for a second go and they sent random pieces that were not even requested. I also ordered the two nightstands and same problem. The only reason I did not send back for refund immed whas because of the hours and hours spent assembling these. The new drawer box sides ALSO cracked. After speaking to management it appears that this SAME issue is ongoing and they were going to forward to buyers to have these removed from site. Well, it;s been 2 weeks now and they are still there and more of you will go through this same headache. What a shame because these pieces on the exterior are BEAUTIFUL pieces that you would find at PB,etc. Cannot beleive they would make the boxes so cheap. What a shame! Hopefully these will be removed from the site soon..... did receive full refund at the end.

I am in love with this piece of furniture! I really wanted one big piece of furniture for both my husband and me to share since we are limited on space in our bedroom. What I really wanted was a **** piece of furniture, but considering their price, plus the price for the matching night stands, I would've paid over $4200 for a dresser and 2 night stands and still not have a headboard! When I saw this dresser on Overstock.com I was so thrilled to have found something so comparable! It is large, good quality, and super affordable! Yes, it does take time to put together, but it is so worth it. The wood dents easily so I suggest assembling the drawers on carpet or on your bed. You will need a tool in order to tighten the locking bolts (I forget the specific name), but I was able to tighten them with a phillips screw driver tilted at an angle. Love this piece of furniture!

This is a beautiful piece of furniture. It's relatively easy to put together but does take time. It seems larger in person than in the picture but I love it and it holds a lot of clothing. We also purchased the matching nightstands and they're great, as well. The color of the wood is very rich looking. We bought an expensive bed from another company and didn't want to pay the high prices for the dresser and nightstands and these match almost exactly to our bed. The knobs were exactly the same as the higher priced items. We saved almost $3,000.00 buying these 3 items instead of the other ones. Considering they look like a perfect match I'd say we did pretty well!

The dresser came in four well protected boxes, all of which are heavy, we actually unpacked them downstairs and carried the pieces upstairs for assembly, which was not difficult. The dresser is beautiful and well built. The only negative is that the finish mars and scratches very easily otherwise I would have given it a 5.

I saw this dresser at my friends house and loved it. I was a little suprised to here where she had purchased it from. She mentioned it was pretty difficult to put together but that the quality was great. I defintely agree. Despite the time required to put it together the end result is worth it. The dresser has lots of space for plenty of clothes. I liked the look and quality of the dresser so much I just purchased the matching night stands.

Looks great after assembly. Having a good power screwdriver is a big timesaver!

Beautiful color, great contemporary style, and I love a tall dresser. Drawers are nice size and pull in and out easily. Assembly is very time consuming for such a large item but that is to be expected.

Although it took time and some challenges to put together, I must say that I am very impressed. I would nver think that this dresser would look so rich and be so well made. It looks even better in person then in the picture. Everyone who sees it is suprised at how good it looks for the price we paid. I would absolutely recommend it.
