I bought this globe as a graduation gift for one of my sons. He is a scholar of geography, and he is very pleased. The colors are beautiful, and he has displayed it with others that range from the 1940's to etched glass of recent years. My only concern was that it did not leave the warehouse for about 4 days, and I was concerned that it would not arrive in time, but it did!
The globe would get 5 stars, except that there is a small chip out of the "ocean" on mine. Not worth returning, but still a bit of a disappointment. It's a beautiful addition to any room, and the size is perfect. A bigger one would overwhelm the space, and a smaller one would have to lack some of the detail. The lapis color is brilliant and elegant, and the polished brass adds to the over all quality. The pricing is reasonable, especially when you factor in the low shipping rate.
I saw these eggs last month; I sent for two .... birthday gifts for my sisters ..sent for three more a week later. They're so lovely they'll leave them out all year.. Overstock gets my vote ! ..only regret is the white ones were sold out..
Using the word Faberge in the title created unrealistic expectations. As a collectible enameled egg, it is OK. I kept it but probably most disappointing purchase I have made through Overstock.
The Globe is a really nice addition to our libary / study.
