Customer Reviews
This is a very sturdy, well made coffee pot. Reminds me of the one my mother used many years ago, only better. The top is hinged, so you don't have to worry about it falling off when you pour coffee. The basket is generously sized and sturdy, has an actual spring in the middle to support the basket. This is a not a light-weight coffee pot. The handle doesn't get hot when the coffee is done, which is a tremendous plus if you have ever burned yourself on a stove top coffee pot. Makes coffee very quickly, Smells great when it's perking. Love the glass top which allows you to see the coffee perking. It's retro but better. Love it.I bought this pot to replace a celebrity endorsed pot I bought in a department store which was more expensive than this one and lasted about two months (the basket fell apart because it had no support and the pot got way too hot to hold). This is a definate upgrade. I'm very satisfied. Excellent value for the money. Thanks, Overstock. I'm in coffee heaven!
This is the old way to make coffee and the best way, I wouldn't have it any other way.
It''s a perfect size. easy to clean. The only thing I suggest is filling the perculator to 4 and a half cups of water because you want the water to hit the coffee grinds. I notice when I do it that way my coffee taste better and stronger. When it's four cups it's not as strong and less than that your coffee will be very watery.
I gave the percolator as a gift and my friend just loves it. He has bragged about how good the coffee tastes and how hot it is. He and I also love the appearance and durability. I also think I got it for an exceptional price. Nice birthday gift.
I have been looking for an inexpensive, stove-top percolator that I can recommend to clients who need to make coffee for use in the Gerson system of treatment for advanced chronic diseases. This machine is perfect for the purpose because as well as being used for normal drinking coffee, it can left boiling for a longer period of time than normal to remove the oils and esters from the coffee for medicinal use. While the price is expensive for the type of unit, it is available and the delivery service is excellent.
