I have had this coffeemaker since last May of 2014 since then after the 1st month, the seal on the top of the coffee pot which is to keep the coffee warm does not seal correctly every time I tighten the coffee top after each pot of coffee is made you go to pour out the coffee it leaks coffee out the pouring spout so you have to retry to put the top on again and again to make sure the seal on the coffee top no longer lets coffee leak

I love 12 cup coffee makers but this one is the worse I've ever purchased. Filling the pot with water is next to impossible. We had water all over the counter every time we filled it. It's also impossible to use the karafe as a pitcher because you can't get all the water out of the pot. Theere just isn't enough room to tilt the karafe. We tried a pitcher so now we end up with a pitcher to take up space in the kitchen. The water container isn't wide enough to pour water into and the gage is on the side where you can't see it when pouring in water. This coffee pot has moved to the land fill. What a waste of money.

When the time came that I had to replace my Krups drip coffeemaker with a thermal carafe I researched the internet for something comparable. Even though the price was steep at $***.**, I decided to order the Bonavita, mainly because I liked the fact that it has 1400 Watt and the water temperature was clearly stated in the product description - we like our coffee hot ! The design of the Bonavita is clean, yet somewhat dated. The water reservoir is easily accessible, but it lacks the carbon water filter the Krups had. During the brew cycle the machine "gurgels" a lot and quite loud, which I find inappropriate at that price. Also, I would have expected an "end of brew cycle signal". So it's guesswork as to when it is safe to remove the carafe. The handling of the coffee filter and lid are very cumbersome. To brew a pot of coffee, one has to first remove the lid from the carafe, then set the filter on the carafe, add the coffee grinds, put the carafe on the machine and switch it on. When y...
